Very unprofessional. Would not respond to multiple voicemails and texts requesting quote. Responded almost a week later with a single text of "Yes." Nothing like "what kind of work do you need done?" or "when can I give you an estimate?". Of course he has time to add new craigslist ads even though he doesn't want to do work that is available. Avoid this clown.

Lousy communication, asked same questions repeatedly, never came out as agreed, apparently doesn't want to actually work.

The work done was always done well, once I was finally able to get in touch with the owner and he (or one of his workers) arrived. However, the problem is that the contact (owner) of this company is almost totally inaccessible and VERY difficult to schedule as he will not answer his cell phone, and he ususally will not respond to scheduling request (left via voice mail or sent via text) for days at a time. I need my yard work done (which rarely takes more than 2.5 hours) every 4-6 weeks and started using Matt's Lawn Care when it was just a start-up company and trying to build a client-base over a year ago. However, from the very beginning, as many times as I called to schedule a cleaning, Matt never answered the phone but one time--and that was after I had complained to him about how difficult and frustrating it was to try reaching him. I told him that as an elderly lady with poor eyesight I don't text well. However, he continued insisting on texting to communicate, showing absolutely no consideration or respect for the difficulty this presented for me. The last straw for me was when I tried to schedule him to clean my courtyard so it was be in good shape for a garden event I was having this afternoon. I had purchased a large shrub that needed planting (which I am no longer capable of doing due to mobility issues) and several plants I wanted transplanted, in addition to the usual maintenance. As always, I called Matt almost a week prior to when I would need him--I called him around 8:30 am last Friday and requested he come around 11 a.m. the following Wed. morning (today). As usual, he did not answer. So, I left a voice mail about needing the courtyard cleaned Wed. morning as I had company coming over Wed. afternoon. When I still had not heard from him by the next morning, I called and left a follow-up message. Once again, he did not answer the phone. In each of these messages, I explained I had company coming in for an event in our garden Wed. afternoon and needed to know if he could come or not so I could plan accordingly. When I still had heard nothing from him late Sat. aft., I tried texting him. However, I got a message that the box was full. At that point, I decided I would not use his service any more as I was tired of the total unprofessional, irresponsible, and total customer disregard in which he conducts his business. About 9 pm Mon. night, over 4 days after I originally called Matt, I finally received a text from him saying: "Wed. is perfect." At that point, since I knew it would be difficult to find someone new before my company came Wed. afternoon, I decided to go ahead and use him one last time. So I texted him back and asked if he could be here at 11 am the next morning. He didn't respond. The next morning I re-texted Matt about the time of arrival. He texted back asking if he could come Thurs. instead! I texted back: "No! " He then re-texted me, later in the day, asking if they could come on Wed. afternoon! At that point I was beyond frustrated and texted him: "NO! I told you I'm having an event Wed. aft. which is why I need the garden cleaned late that morning." I added that I was going to be very upset if he or Gabriel (a worker who I much preferred coming over anyhow) did not show up the next morning at 11 am. Later that day, he texted that Gabriel would be at my house at 11 am Wed. morning. This morning (Wed.), the day my company was due, I received an early morning text from Matt saying "We may be late." Of course, I knew that meant they would be arriving too late to do what needed done, and I definitely didn't want them still here blowing, etc. when my company arrived. At that point, I texted Matt and told him that I no longer felt I could trust his word and that any time after noon would be too late. I told him I needed to know immediately if they would be here by 11 or not so I could proceed accordingly--and that if they did not show up, I would be writing about the experience on Angie's List. I never heard another word from Matt. Therefore, in addition to all the other preparations I had to take care of prior to my guests arriving, I also had to personally clean the courtyard myself (minus the pine straw). I now have someone highly recommended (someone, hopefully, more mature/responsible/dependable) coming to put out my pine straw and do my outside work in the future. I will not ever be using Matt's Lawn Care again, nor would I recommend them to others. And, according to his new Website, he's not taking on new customers now anyhow.
