I received a call from Savannah's Water Co. informing me that my water meter reflected that I was using 84 gal. of water an hour and had used 23,000 gal. of water in the past 25 days. I immediately called Henry Plumbing Co (in Savannah, GA)., which I had trusted and used for years and always recommended to others, to see if they could find a leak. The scheduler at this company is always accommodating, and she had 2 of the company's plumbers at my house within a couple of hours. After spending around 2 hours inspecting the interior of my home, I mentioned there was standing water on the back lawn, which I had never seen previously. They said they would take a look around my home, which has a slab foundation, after checking out the interior water sources. After their outside "inspection," the plumber-in-charge told me that they could not find a leak anywhere. Therefore, I had 2 options: 1. They could check for a leak, before leaving, with a "leak locator device." The cost for "this service," as I recall, was close to $500 and not guaranteed to even locate the leak. I was later told that Savannah's American Leak Detector charges a flat $350 to find a water leak, with the guarantee they WILL find it. 2. OR I could have my 30-year-old home, which recently underwent major improvements and is in stellar condition, totally re-piped (which, I have since been informed, would likely cost approximately $75,000-$100,000k for the re-piping and then all of the repairs in my 3.5 bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen as walls would have to be removed and, predictably, some of my expensive wood flooring). And, of course, there was no guarantee that a leak would even be found inside after all of that. Nevertheless, this was VERY obviously the route they were recommending I "choose"--even though not 1 sign** of needing re-piping (listed below) was present. **Frequent plumbing leaks, Noisy pipes, Visible pipe corrosion, Discolored water, Bad-tasting or bad-smelling water, Fluctuating water temperature.** Before the plumbers left, I paid them my bill of $264 for "looking for an unfound leak" and putting new flappers on 2 toilets. I feel like it was money thrown out-the-window, except for the 2 flappers. Shortly after they left, I called the gentleman who had checked my irrigation system (in my new home) the week before and shown me how to use it. After I explained the situation to him, he told me that what I had just experienced was outrageous; he would be at my house within a couple of hours, and then he WOULD find my leak and stop it. And that is just what he did. He effortlessly found the leak right outside my kitchen door in less than 5 minutes, by which time my side lawn was like a small swamp. In less than 20 minutes, he had stopped the almost month-long flow of water the two plumbers could not even locate. Once the leak was found and stopped, I sent an email to the plumbing company telling them about the person who had found and repaired my leak in less than 30 min., along with pictures . I also mentioned that I had a faucet I needed to have installed on a mud sink in my garage--and I felt, after all the unnecessary stress I had been exposed to by their plumbers, that I thought it would be an act of goodwill to a long-time, loyal customer if they would install my faucet at no charge. Though the owner of the plumbing company was sent my email, I never even received the courtesy of a reply from her. I called someone else to install my faucet, and I will never again deal with Henry Plumbing Co, of Savannah, GA and will warn others as well about my experience. Regardless of what Henry Plumbing may say to justify what happened, I consider their modus operandi a "scare tactic" used about what could possibly happen if I did NOT decide to contract for the re-piping of my home. Of course, I feel certain they would say they were just "doing their job" by outlining the possibilities available. It is also noteworthy that this company is NOT Better Business Bureau accredited. I can't help but find this plumbing company's promoted motto an oxymoron: "Your Home's Best Friend."

Todd provided me with a quote and then delayed the time to perform the work by three months. When I called him to get put on the schedule, he did not answer. I left him a message to call me, but he never did. I called again a few weeks later and asked for him. The person who answered the phone put me on hold and then came back and told me that they could not put me on the schedule as they were too busy and that they thought I had already gotten someone else to perform the work. One of the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.

My tenant told me estimator looked at hot water heater only very quickly. Compeny told me I needed a new hot water heater at a cost of $l050. I had it fixed with just a heating coil. Would not recommend them. (I have not paid $100. estimate fee yet).

Outstanding level of service. Henry Plumbing reassigned an employee who was working in their shop. He went immediately and replaced the water heater thermostat. Also recommended that an electrician be contact subsequently if the circuit breaker flipped again to make sure it was working properly. Did NOT advise me to replace the water heater, which I would have done if suggested because I am not local and must be able to depend on the hot water for guests at the property. Great personal service and follow through by company owner.

Outstanding service. Henry Plumbing reassigned an employee working in their shop so he could go out immediately. Fixed the problem by replacing a thermostat. Also recommended a follow up visit by an electrician should the problem happen again, so the the circuit breaker function could be evaluated. Did NOT try to sell me a new water heater, although they COULD have considering do not live in the area and had to go with whatever they diagnosed as the problem. GREAT personal touch by the co-owner to make sure we were taken care of promptly. I will call them any time I need plumbing help in the future.

I did not like the way they handled the billing. My interaction with them was very poor. Usually when someone comes out to fix something,m before they fix it they tell you how much it is going to be to make sure you can pay for it. They did not say anything to me. They had to go get a part from a home improvement store so they went and came back. They did not give me any receipt for the parts that they had purchased. Then when I asked them how much I owed them since I already had purchased the service through Angie's List they said they would bill me. When I let them know I already paid through Angie's List they said I only owned them for the time. They said they were here a little under an hour. Then they walked off and did not give me any receipts for the parts they had purchased or anything. Then I get a bill charging me for over an hour. Before he left I asked how much the parts were and he pointed to three different pieces and estimated prices of about $3, $6 and $8 for each of the three parts. He said they would bill me. So I get a bill for over an hour of service and also over $50 for parts. When I called them asking for the receipt from the home improvement store the lady talked to me like I did not have a right to ask her. I told her I had never worked with anybody who did not give me the price before they did the work. She asked me how I knew they went to the particular home improvement store. I said because they told me. I disputed the charges and we went back and forth. They told me they were going to sue me and I told them I was not going to pay that price. I told them the prices for the parts were supposed to be under $17 and I ended up sending them $20. I have not heard from them since. I am just dissatisfied not necessarily with the work they did, but because of the way I was spoken to and treated. The work turned out fine. I paid $100 to Angie's List and they wanted to charge me another $50. I ended up sending them $20.

In total we had 3 separate representatives from Henry Plumbing come out to our home to work on our issues. Every single one of them were professional and on time. They diagnosed the issues quickly and gave us a good estimate on time and cost of the repair. We will absolutely be using them for any further plumbing issues we have, but fingers crossed we have no more issues!

My experience was very well. The gentlemen knew what they were doing and did it well. They didn't spend any more time or resources than they needed. Once they were complete with the toilet they moved to working on my kitchen sink. They maximized all of the time covered by the $100 coupon. No cash or money exchange and everything paid online. Awesome!

On time, pleasant, told me likely what the problem was before he started (he was right), and fixed it in short order. Checked several times later in the day and night and no leaks. Plus I learned how to repair a PVC water line when you can't bend the line to fit into tight fittings.

The gentleman was punctual and very polite and professional. He spent a total of ten minutes' time from arriving to leaving because the only labor he performed was popping off an old disc and and sticking on a new one (this involves no tools and takes less than 60 seconds to do, for those who don't know). He told me I would get a bill based on his time, which I thought was great, since he'd only been there for 10 minutes. However, when the bill came, I was shocked to see that I had been charged $109.00 - $100 for labor and $9 for the part. When I called and spoke to the owner, she said that there is a minimum charge of one hour for each visit, which amounts to $100, whether they are there for 5 minutes or 60. I expressed to her that this is something I should have been told when I scheduled the appointment, which I was not. So no, I will not be using this plumber again, and I would caution anyone that you will be paying $100 for them to just walk in the door.

Excellent service for total kitchen remodel. The plumbers showed up, right on time, and performed the necessary work which ended up being more than any of us had thought. Due to a deep sink, accommodations had to be made for the disposal, and due to the location of the refrigerator, an alternate route had to be made to run the water line for the ice maker. To get everything right they had to spend a good portion of the day under my house, but that actually worked out because they discovered that the gas line to the fireplace had a leak, so they closed that off and I will be getting them to come back and repair it. Highly recommend!

I had recently moved into an older house. The home inspection had turned up a few plumbing issues, but not that there were tree roots in the discharge line from the house to the sewer main. We found this out the hard way when waste water from our single bathroom started backing up into the tub. I called Henry Plumbing based on their positive reviews. Jeff and Maurice came out first thing the next morning and were quick to get to work. They spent quite a bit of time snaking out the discharge line. Based on the size and quantity of tree roots they pulled out - and on the proximity of a newer-looking cleanout line, they made a determination that the house must have a history of roots in the discharge line, and the prior homeowners circumvented fixing the problem (replacing the discharge line) with a stop-gap measure of putting in cleanout access near the root ball. Jeff and Maurice did all they could within the scope of the service I hired them for, but if I wanted the problem fixed right, I would need to dig up the broken pipe, possibly breaking up a concrete driveway alongside the house. In short, not a $90 job. I had intended a full bathroom remodel anyways, and knew all the old bathroom plumbing would have to go, so we made arrangements that they would take care of the discharge line when they came back for the bathroom remodel job. Based on the thoroughness, professionalism, and courtesy they exhibited on this initial service call, I had no hesitation in hiring them for the larger, more expensive job. I also found Tonya in the office to be communicative and cooperative.
Description of Work: Snaked out the discharge line via a cleanout opening. Pulled several roots out of the line. Diagnosed damage in the line that would likely require further service (replacement of damaged line section.)

They were not good at all. We worked with them over the course of a month providing them with part numbers and so forth; after a month's worth of time, they said they couldn't work with the warranty company any longer. It was very disappointing and a big waste of time. When I told them that I'd be writing a negative review on Angie's List, she later apologized and said to call them, but the damage had been done; they had already told us that they didn't want our business.

So monday I get a call from the plumber just shortly before 2pm, telling me he wants to schedule an appointment. Odd I thought and told him he was supposed to be here between noon and three according to his boss. He responded he could be here in 20 min and he was. Disappointing was that he showed up with a plunger in hand to clear my problem. So obviously the conversation I had with the lady was not passed on. I send him back to the van and told him to please get what I had requested. He wanted to see the bathroom first, so I showed him. Back and forth he finally came with the 50 Ft snake. Not the seize I asked for as I was told by him it was on another tuck. The first attachment he put on did nothing and I told him it wouldn't as I had tried that one last week. My time and money being spend by him trying to figure out what I had already told the lady in my first conversation. Anyhow now he wanted to see the access points outside the home or maybe he just wanted to see the property. And I say this because he said he'd walked by the property plenty and now could go home and tell his wife what the house looked like on the inside. Inappropriate and creepy to say the least . He came back and changed the attachment on the snake and it did seem to start the flow. Which he tested by running my "hot" water in the tub, once I found that out I changed it to cold. Not only do I pay for water but certainly to heat it. Anyhow the toilet pipe seemed to work better and he left. I asked if I need to sign something for the time he'd been here and he said no. Another concern as other companies make you sign so you know what you're getting billed for. Here come the surprise. He billed for 1 Hr, and was here but 30 min. Then came the bill of $150.00, with an equipment charge of $50.00. I thought that if you decide to pay $100,00 and Hr for plumber to come and do a job they should not charge additional equipment as the carpenter does not charge me additional for every hammer and saw he uses. Odd, so I called Mrs Tonya back to inquire. She was none to happy, told me thats what her employee had written down for work time and that an equipment charge was standard. Mind you I had a quote from home depot for the rental of same equipment for 4 hrs $45.00. So if your handy do yourself a favor and rent and do it yourself, it would have been done sat instead of Monday and it had been done right as the same problem is already occurring again I will have to rent one anyway. Disappointing service with customer service, that lets you feel like your more than just an inconvenience. I got treated cold and as a nuisance. Although Mrs Tonya did adjust the bill by taking the equipment charge off, I still feel like I paid to much. And certainly I should not be having the same problems starting already so short after their visit. Had it been snake out correctly with the attachment I had asked for I would not be writing this review but praise them. Ergo, I would not recommend this company for this kind of job.
Description of Work: I had called them on a friday evening and had asked Mrs. Tonya to give me an estimate to snake a very slow running toilet with a bigger more powerful and longer line snake than what was available to me. She quoted me $100-150, depending on the work and accessibility. She asked if it needed to be a rush and since i had another bathroom in the house we scheduled for the coming monday. since i am pretty handy myself i removed the toilet for better access and made sure i had all the other access points available for the plumber for monday thinking it would at most be $100.00. We set the appointment for noon to 3pm.
