Ed and his team were on the job first thing and the morning and worked hard all day. He charges by the day and for the amount of work done I really feel I got my money's worth. My wife (who is very sensitive to ''sales'' people) was alone when Ed came to give the estimate. Her first impression was glowing about his character and professionalism. We actually cancelled other estimates and gave Ed the job that day. Ed does the felling of the trees himself. Here are two videos of the last two trees coming down. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3146062634183074238 and http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6625397700789449429 . His precision is uncanny, and he told us in advance when a tree had to get hurt. They cleaned up all the mess they made. Also, they do not use bobcats, so the extraction of the logs is much less damaging to the ground. I have strongly recommended them to all of my friends.
Description of Work: Removal of 15 pine trees (some rather large) from our front yard. Beneath the pines were dozens of dogwood and cherry trees which were not damaged at all in the process.

EXCELLENT! I CALLED MON. MORNING, MR RIGBY CAME BY THAT EVENING, DISCUSSED THE WORK I WANTED AND GAVE ME A VERY REASONABLE PRICE, AND SCHEDULED ME FOR WEDNESDAY AT AROUND 8 AM. THE CREW SHOWED UP RIGHT ON TIME, AND DID A VERY DIFFICULT AND EXPERT JOB REMOVING MY TREES. HE AND HIS CREW CLEANED UP AND FINISHED ABOUT 5PM. HIS CREW HAS HIGHLY SKILLED CLIMBERS AND THEY ALL WORK VERY VERY HARD! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY AND WAS AS IMPRESSED WITH THE WORK THEY DID THIS TIME AS BEFORE. I HAVE A HEAVILY WOODED 3/4 ACRE LOT AND WILL HAVE THEM OUT AGAIN!
Description of Work: REMOVED VERY LARGE POPLAR (APPROX 3 FEET IN DIAMETER) AND 6 PINES (APPROX. 1.5 FEET IN DIAMETER} ALL VERY CLOSE TO MY HOUSE. ALL BUT 2 PINES HAD TO BE CLIMBED FOR REMOVAL. EVERYTHING CHIPPED EXCEPT FOR SOME OF THE POPLAR. MR RIGBY'S CREW MADE TWO VERY CLEVER BENCHES ABOUT 5 FEET LONG FOR US.

I got an estimate the same day and the work was completed within about there days. Mr. Rigby is definitely knowledgeable about his business and provided a high level of service. They did an excellent job and at a fair price and he was a pleasure to deal with. I got home after work and all three trees had been removed with no real signs that they had been there. I will surely use them again if a similar situation arises.
Description of Work: There was a tall pine tree in my back yard that was severely diseased and leaning towards my house and it needed to be removed. Mr. Rigby gave me an estimate that was significantly less expensive than the other estimates I received. In addition there were two other dead pine trees in my front yard.

Ed Rigby, the owner, came out to give me an estimate after work at a time that accommodated my busy schedule. He seemed very knowledgeable, professional, & service oriented. I have been a Real Estate investor and Healthcare provider for a long time. People call me hard nose and demanding, so it is not easy to impress me, but Ed, and the crew at Rigby's tree service did impress me. I gave very detailed instructions, and they did exactly what I wanted. I was blown away by the great job they did. You could not even tell that large tree in my front yard was ever there! They did a great job of removing the trees by sections and was careful to not do damage to my lovely yard. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a great job at a good price. By the way, be careful to make sure you check out the other companies and that they list everything that you want and the price you bid on. Also spend time questioning them about there method of tree removal.
Description of Work: They cut and removed several trees, including one very large tree that was extremely close to my home. For that reason, I did a lot of research before choosing a company to the work at my home. I had a lot of questions, and the owner of the company answered them all and gave me a lot of helpful, straight forward, honest advice, without rushing me.

It rained the next day, but the second day was clear and Ed started the job. He finished it all in one day, and when I got home, it didn't look like there was any work done, except of course, there were a lot less trees, and the Japanese maple was moved. Funny thing, he told me the Jap. map. weighted 1000 pounds. No wonder I couldn't do it myself!
Description of Work: I've wanted to clear a fairly sizable area from some tall, skinny Pines. I also had a large Pine spewing cones all over the lawn year long. I decided to transplant a dwarf Japanese maple, but got half way into the job and realized it was too much for one man. I found Ed Rigby's Expert Tree Care on the web and he was able to come over that afternoon to quote on finishing the transplanting as well as removing the giant Pine and all the little ones.

This was the most positive experience I've ever had with a contractor. Mr. Rigby did what he said he'd do, quickly, efficiently, and professionally. He listened to my needs, offered solutions, and even turned one beautiful old tree into two wonderful benches for the kids.

Ed Rigby and his staff are truly professional and knowledgeable. From working with us to get our tree removal permit from the City of Atlanta, to taking the tree down, to removal of the debris and final clean-up, this was a successful job! Ed was responsive to all of our needs, was more than courteous and helpful, and he and his staff worked efficiently and safely in the close quarters of our backyard. The entire job took less than one day--they arrived promptly at 8:30 am, and left at 5:00 after thoroughly cleaning up around the job site, which was greatly appreciated. We could not be more satisfied with the service Ed Rigby provided, and we were pleased with his fair pricing, too!

I did not use this company. Mr. Rigby wanted to take out many more trees than was necessary. He claimed this would save me money and worry in the future. But his advice to me was significantly different than the advice of 3 other companies, and his quote was twice as high as the others. Was he trying to take advantage of a single woman who he thought might not know how to find out what she needed, or was he sincerely trying to help out a single woman by suggesting a massive amount of upfront work that would mean less worry and work in the coming years? I don't know for sure; I suspect, however, that the advice was not entirely for my benefit.
Description of Work: Ed Rigby came to my house and gave me advice on grooming my trees along with a quote.

Response from RIGBY'S EXPERT TREE CARE
SHE WAS SEEKING ADVICE ON HER TREE CUTTING PROJECT. SHE WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A HUGE LEANING TREE ON HER NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY. SHE AND I WALKED HER PROPERTY. SHE MENTIONED SHE DIDN'T GO OUT BACK MUCH BECAUSE OF HEAVY SHADE DAMP AREAS AND MOSQUITOES. IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THIS SHE WOULD HAVE TO DO SOME TREE THINNING AND CUTTING BACK OF OVERGROWN SHRUBBERY. I ALSO POINTED OUT SEVERE DAMAGE BY ROOTS TO HER WALL. SHE NEEDED TO REMOVE THOSE TREES IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE FURTHER DAMAGE AFTER THE ROCK WALL WAS FIXED. I ALSO BROUGHT SEVERAL DEAD TREES TO HER ATTENTION THAT SHE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT. HER HOUSE IS ON AN INCLINE AND FENCED IN, SO BOBCAT EQUIPMENT WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION. ALL WORK HAD TO BE WALKED OUT BY CREW. THIS JOB WAS A 2-3 DAY PROJECT. I PRICED THE WORK FAIRLY. IN THE PAST I HAVE WORKED WITH MR. WOODRUFF-COCA-COLA, SEN. JOHN ISACKSON, SEN. & SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE TOM CAMPBELL AND ROSWELL'S LEGENDARY "PUG MABRY FOR 30 YEARS. ALSO WORKED WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WHEN OPRAH WINFREY WAS INVOLVED WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AT OXBO DR. PROJECT. I HAVE ALSO CONTRIBUTED MANY DAYS OVER THE YEARS AT MANY HISTORIC SITES IN ROSWELL, ATLANTA, ACWORTH AND CANTON. WHEN SEVERE STORMS TOPPLE TREES OVER ROADWAYS I HELP CLEAN THEM TO ASSIST ACCESS. I COULD GO ON BUT I THINK MY 40 YEARS OF SERVICE TO MY COMMUNITY SPEAK WELL ENOUGH. I GAVE HER GREAT ADVICE & SHE CHOSE TO ACT ON HER OWN THOUGHTS.

Rigby's Expert Tree Care is an extremely professional and customer oriented company from the initial estimate throughout the work. Each one of the workers on-site worked diligently to ensure the safety of my home and family. They consider each hazard and the impact to my yard from the tonnage that ended up on the ground. I received no damage, expert advise, and would and am highly recommending this company to neighbors and friends. In fact this is the second time I used this company and for all the reasons given, I would use them again if I need to.
Description of Work: I had two pine trees exceeding 80 feet high that one was infected with pine bark beetles and the other just showing a possibility of investigation from the outside and had a long crack in the top 1/4 of the trunk.

All work was done satisfactorily, as we knew it would be. We have seen Rigby's work in our area for many years and know that he is thorough, knowledgeable and professional. We are very happy with the work that his entire team performed, including the ground crew. The clean up was complete and there was minimal damage to the many shrubs and perennials in the work area.
Description of Work: We had three large oak trees that needed many health cuts to remove old or damaged limbs. We had several smaller trees that needed to be removed entirely and additional limbs on other trees to be removed or cut back away from the house.

Highly skilled crew - Mr. Rigby is always present and involved when the trees are dropped, and his team is very proficient at dropping them within 1-2 feet of their target location. He uses a neat rig for branches to zip-line them to his chipper, and any trees that have wood that could go to lumber or wood products are sent for that purpose. Mr. Rigby's crew also completed some pruning of remaining hardwoods and did a diligent job. If you can use a full day of work, the cost is competitive with any reputable company. I got other quotes the first two times, but the third time just hired Mr. Rigby without any other quotes - his prices are fair. I would use him without hesitation for any future tree needs.
Description of Work: This was Rigby's third job at our house in Roswell removing pine trees. Each time was for a days work and was for 10-15 trees (number depended on the size of the trees removed). Also did some pruning on hardwoods.

I hired Rigby's Tree Service to remove a few trees and several large dangerous limbs overhanging my roof. Mr. Rigby was very knowledgable and experienced with tree health issues. His crew was skilled and hard-working. They even did some extra work, like draining the water from a tree knothole and removing some old rotten firewood. He charged a very reasonable rate, for a lot of work. I've highly recommended him to my neighbors.

After placing a call to Mr. Rigby at 3pm, he returned my call and came out to give me an estimate at 8:30 that evening. I felt the quote he gave me was fair, and was pleased that he could complete the work the following day. I was at work when the trees were taken down, but when I returned home my property was completely cleaned up with no indication that they had been there. Also, no payment was required until the work was completed.

They did a great job at an excellent price. Ed is very knowledgeable and knows about almost every tree in my yard. They recommended me NOT to cut a Post Oak tree that I was planning to cut. He also explained how to take care of the trees. His team is fantastic and a delight to watch. The master climber Lanny is very talented and they use a technique to bring down the limbs slowly. NO damage to the yard or house. If you are looking for a competitive price and a professional service, call Rigby.

Rigby's takes care of the trees at all properties the city of Roswell maintains. I wish I had known about them a couple of years ago because we probably would not have lost this tree if it were pruned/trimmed properly. Ed Rigby, the owner, has over 30 years experience and is an arborist. His workers climb without spikes to prevent damage to the tree when trimming/pruning. Ed supervised his five-man crew personally and was very enjoyable to work with.
Description of Work: We lost a 100+ year-old, white Oak tree in a storm in June 2006. The tree had blown over and was 'spring-loaded' against two other trees and was suspended above our fence. Rigby's removed the tree without fence damage and did no yard or landscape damage whatsoever. For the job, I got five quotes from some of the big tree companies in the area. Rigby's was not the very lowest, but they went the extra mile and did some trimming and removal of two other trees as part of the deal. I was expecting my lawn to be totally destroyed from removing three trees and 20+ tons of oak from the backyard, but it was totally undamaged.
