Reface Cabinets

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing, Cabinet Making, Kitchen and Bath Remodeling

About us

Note: we do not do any on site refinishing (painting) work, and only provide repair work as part of a complete refacing job. We do not take on cabinet repair work or cabinet modification work by itself. Reface Cabinets specializes in solid hardwood cabinet refacing to provide you the beautiful cabinets that up until now you have been dreaming about. Our MINIMUM kitchen cabinet project is $5,000, which is a mere fraction of the cost of replacing your existing cabinets for new cabinets. All your materials will be custom cut and finished off site, and when we come back to do the installation, we will typically be in and out of your home in 3 days or less. Reface Cabinets position in the market is delivering a great value on high quality workmanship with the use of very high quality materials and hardware. We do not do any onsite cabinet painting, or refinishing. Instead, we focus on the business of cabinet refacing. That means we will always be replacing the doors, hinges, and drawer fronts and the trim such as crown molding. The exterior of your cabinet boxes will be covered with new material, which we prefinish off site along with all your other materials. This is so your cabinet boxes will exactly match the your new doors, drawer fronts, and crown molding. If you like the doors you have and just want to change the color of your cabinets, we are not the right company to call. We can perform any type of cabinet repair and/or addition as part of a refacing project. We do not offer general cabinet repair services as a stand alone offering if not part of a larger refacing and/or new custom cabinet project. A realistic minimum job is about $4K which generally rules out doing a vanity by itself. Thank you Angie's List Members for recognizing our work with your reviews! Reface Cabinets was recognized with the Super Service Award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

Services we offer

Pre-finished custom Cabinet Refacing in Stained hardwood, Antique Glaze, or Solid Color finishes, plus extra services, such as add onto or change existing cabinet configurations, added functionality such as full extension pull out drawer systems, sliding organizers, and pantry systems. We also build and install custom cabinets.

Services we don't offer

Supplying unfinished cabinet doors, or supplying individual cabinet repair parts for people who are not our existing customers. We do not offer on site cabinet re-staining, or finishing services. We feel that spraying lacquer finishes inside people's homes makes it difficult to provide the same level of quality as we can achieve easily with pre finished materials prepared in the controlled environment of our furniture finishing facility.

Dennis and the reface cabinets team are really good at what they do. We contracted them to reface our kitchen cabinets. My wife and I were somewhat skeptical in the begging about refacing vs. replacing. Dennis walked us through the options, showed us some examples of their work and walked us through the entire process. There were no surprises, the price was good, and the quality was some of the best I have had from any company performing work for us. Mark and Daniel (the crew that performed the work) delivered an exceptional result. I am a handy person, but chose to not do my own projects because I am too much of a perfectionist. The projects just never get done. When Mark and Daniel finished, neither my wife or I could find one thing that needed attention. I would highly recommend reface cabinets to my friends or family considering a kitchen cabinet remodel.

Our customers had us rip and replace an island, since they were getting new Granite we set the box for the new island ahead of doing the refacing work so it would be there for the new granite. We always recommend doing the granite first. The reason is that the granite folks may end up shimming the stone at one end of the other for a level installation. If we reface after the new counter tops are in, we can face right up to the bottom of the counter tops so their will not be a gap. This kitchen was redone in an Espresso stained Shaker style. It really came out beautiful.

The job was a little delayed getting started but Dennis always kept me updated. I had builder grade white cabinets and decided to stay with white. We went with a beautiful white painted maple. I was also getting new granite around the same time and Dennis recommended that I get the granite BEFORE he started on the cabinets. That worked out perfect. Throughout the process, Dennis always answered my many texts and email questions (and I had plenty along the way). He took the time to explain the process and answer all of my questions so that I totally understood each part of the process along the way. Once the job was completed, I had a concern with one area of the kitchen. When I emailed Dennis my concern, his response was "I want you to be 100% satisified". The 2 person crew came back out and replaced one area of the facing in the kitchen. They have been out once more for 2 very minor issues and all was fixed to my satisfaction. I am very please with all 4 areas and would recommend Dennis/Reface Cabinets 100%!

This was a great job, and in addition to the areas mentioned, our customer had us put a large decorative 3/4" maple panel on the back of her island. A lot of people assume that we mount doors in fixed position to create the decorative panel look, but we generally have our door vendor make up larger sections for that type of application. Regarding the delay in getting this job started; on the very day we were scheduled to start, our installer quit without notice. We were able to reschedule for the following week.

Our customers picked out a medium Maple stain and then had us finish their doors off with a dark clean glaze over the stain, and it really turned out nice. Glaze over Stain is a more expensive way to go because of the extra steps and material involved in the finishing, but the effect is beautiful.

Dennis Callahan and his team at Reface Cabinets did an awesome job on my kitchen. I would highly recommend using them. Before deciding on their company I had contacted others but in the end went with them. I'm glad I did and look forward to using them in the future for my bathroom vanities.

This job is a good show case for how great a dated oak kitchen can become when refaced in solid Maple. The customer had us do a custom light-medium Maple stain on Shaker style doors. Everyone was really pleased with how this job came out.

Dennis and Reface Cabinets were very easy to work with. He was very knowledgeable about refacing cabinets and was a wealth of information. Throughout the entire process Dennis was always available to answer any question I had, and was receptive and accommodating to any change I requested (using the Change Order process so that everyone is on the same page). As with any project a couple of issues came up, but Dennis was quick to rectify and resolve. He truly tries to make the customer happy. We really appreciated that and we are very happy with our new kitchen! We were very pleased with Reface Cabinets and would not hesitate to recommend.
Description of Work: We refaced my builder-grade peeling white thermofoil kitchen cabinet doors with Clean Glazed wood doors. We also had additional modification work done – 1) converting an open desk space to cabinet space, 2) modifying my kitchen island to install a microwave drawer, and 3) modifying my oven cutout from a single oven to a double oven. Installed new panels at the cabinet ends. Installed new crown molding.

Our customers chose an off white base/clean glaze finish with a contrasting espresso stained island, and it really looks nice. In addition to the work listed in the review, we installed a outside venting cook hood for them. If you like to cook, but don't have a real outside exhaust for your range, you won't believe great it is to have one, until you do. Having an outside cooking vent makes such a huge difference in the air quality in your house and really helps keep your kitchen and cabinets cleaner by removing cooking oil vapor which would otherwise end up on surfaces in your kitchen.

We had a great experience with the team from Reface Cabinets. We had a very large kitchen space with very dated honey oak cabinets. We loved the layout of our kitchen but hated the look of the cabinets. Dennis was very helpful in walking us through the design choices available. There was a slight delay in getting the cabinet doors manufactured but Dennis communicated any issues timely. We had very little downtime for the kitchen and bathroom. The carpenters who performed the work were very professional and did a great job on the installation. We went with glazed cabinets for most of the kitchen and a dark espresso island, bar area, and bathroom cabinets. We are very pleased with the finished cabinets.

This was quite a large job with 93 doors and drawer fronts, plus a new book case upper, and included some thick decorative mirror framing around two large mirrors in the bathroom. As the customer alluded, we did have a delay in ordering material. We had to part company with one of our installers when he couldn't generate the orders for this job on time. The customer was very gracious about the situation, and she gave me time to bring in our other crew, who got everything ordered quickly and then did a great job with the installation, as they always do.

It was such a pleasant experience! One of the reasons I kept putting off a kitchen reno was my dread of being without a kitchen for weeks on end. Well, with Reface Cabinets, my kitchen was actually only "under construction" for 3 days! The scope of my job included adding a bank of cabinets to the top of my existing ones to take them all the way to the ceiling, complete with crown moldings. New doors, many of them with glass inserts, were put on. I also had one side of the kitchen cabinets completely removed new ones put in. Reface Cabinets made and installed a custom set , with a hutch and pull out drawer pantries. A huge bonus is that I was able to keep my exising granite countertops in place on the refaced part of the kitchen. I honestly am flabbergasted at how much I love everything! My job started in January 2014, which those of you who live in the South may remember was a doozy of a winter with lots of bad weather. The construction and delivery dates of my cabinets were understandably delayed because of the "Atlanta Snowpocalypse". Throughout the process, the folks at Reface Cabinets kept me informed and updated every step of the way.The installation crew was friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about my job. Anyone who has embarked upon a home improvement project knows that there are potential problem issues lurking around every corner. The few encountered on my job were quickly and efficiently solved by the crew. They definitely know their stuff! I found them to be a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: I approached Reface Cabinets searching for a reasonably priced way to update my kithchen. Since the foot print of my kitchen was not going to change, I wanted a combination of refacing some cabinets and completely replacing others.

After we decided to upgrade our kitchen cabinets we looked online and spoke to our neighbors to find qualified companies in our area. We narrowed the list down to four and had them each come out and provide a quote. The quote from our local big box store was over twice my expected budget so they were quickly eliminated. One of the three remaining companies was a large national company and their price was also much higher than expected. The choice was then between Reface Cabinets and another small local company. They both quoted very similar costs for our kitchen but in the end I really liked the technical solutions that Dennis offered. He was very knowledgeable and was able to offer solutions to most of the storage issues we were having. I was also very impressed with the fact that Dennis uses quarter inch solid wood (stained to match the doors) to reface the cabinets instead of the thin veneers most other companies use. In my opinion this makes the re-facing look and feel much better. It also allowed the removal of the strip molding between cabinets for a much cleaner appearance. Dennis provided a very simple and fair contract, 1/3 of total is due when contract is signed, 1/3 when installation starts 1/6 when installation is complete and the final 1/6 when any punch list items are completed. No changes are allowed without a written change request. There were no pricing surprises; the price quoted was the price we paid. We signed the contract the end of September with the goal of having all work completed in time to host our families Thanksgiving dinner. The hardest part was choosing the stain color, but once that was done Dennis was able to have his installer begin a few weeks later. The installer did a very professional job; the quality of the work is first rate. It is obvious he takes great pride in doing excellent work. The installation only took a few days and at the end of each day everything was cleaned up before the installer left. The custom cupboard we requested was perfect! It was exactly as we had requested. Dennis even noticed that the drawers in the cupboard were at the width limit specified by the drawer glide supplier so he installed anti-racking hardware on the drawers to ensure they would operate perfectly at no additional cost. It is that attention to detail that let me know I made the correct choice with Dennis and Reface Cabinets. We did have a few issues, the first was that the stain on one of the doors was slightly different than the other doors; the second was that drawer pulls were installed on the false front in front of the sink. We wanted to be able to mount a kitchen towel holder on it instead of the drawer pulls. Lastly we had asked for pull out spice racks to be installed in one upper cabinet but after it was installed we discovered it would not hold enough spices. Dennis was very quick to fix all of these issues. He had the mismatched door sent back to the stain shop and re-stained. He ordered a new false front and had it stained to match. He also was able to mount the doors from the pull out spice rack on hinges so they looked exactly like all the other cabinet doors. These changes were all made very quickly and at no additional charge to us (even though the spice rack was clearly our mistake). So everything was completely finished before Thanksgiving and the kitchen looked terrific! I would not hesitate to recommend Dennis and Reface Cabinets to any of my neighbors looking to upgrade their kitchen cabinets.
Description of Work: The work we had done included re-facing all our builder grade white cabinets, replacing several of the cabinet opening with drawers and combining several narrow side by side drawers into single wide drawers. We also replaced our built-in kitchen desk with a tall custom built cupboard. We had soft close drawer glides and door hinges installed on all drawers and door. As part of the upgrade Dennis included new crown molding, shoe molding, and re-facing for the bottoms of the cabinets and the sides of island and the inside of the fridge surround.

We chose Reface Cabinets based on their Angie?s List rating, the previous reviews, and Dennis? knowledge of what we wanted. We upgraded the drawer slides, ordered new drawers (not just drawer fronts), changed a door cabinet to two drawers, and added slide out shelves. Reface Cabinets was more costly than their competitors but we believed we would have the look we desired at job completion. Now that the job is finished, the cabinets look great. However, the process to get to this result was much longer than anticipated and not satisfactory to us. In the contract, we agreed to a start ?approximately 5-6 weeks after receipt of the down payment? and that ?installation will likely require 2 ½ days?. Installation started at about the 6 week timeframe. The installers were here for 2 days. After the first day, we noticed that we had doors for the built-in hutch but no glass in the doors. We notified Dennis and were informed that the order of glass was forgotten. After the two days, the 6 doors on our island did not cover the former door openings (evidently these doors were not measured correctly); the doors and drawers on the hutch did not align (Dennis later explained that there was an error on the order in that the right measurements were made but incorrectly communicated to their supplier; several side-by-doors were misaligned; screws were not shortened on 2 drawer handles so the handles were lose; only one slide out drawer was installed instead of two under the stove top (no explanation given); several cabinets were not cleaned of construction debris or had old hinges and screws left in them; and our trash container was filled with packing materials and boards (never before has a contractor not hauled away construction materials). Dennis did come to the house, observed what we saw, took pictures and said all would be corrected. New doors and drawer fronts needed to be made, glass had to be ordered, and we had to wait. The installers returned for part of a day about 3 weeks later to install the hutch doors (now with glass), replace the island doors, and properly align the hutch drawers and doors, but failed to complete the installation of the second pull out shelf, the alignment of other doors, and caulking. We called this to Dennis? attention. He called us the next day and explained that the installer thought it best if he came out that Saturday when we were here all could be completed satisfactorily (the installer would call to make final arrangements the next day, Tuesday). We had plans to be out of town that weekend with our grandchildren but we cancelled so the job could be completed. On Friday, I had still not heard from the installer so Dennis was called. The installer could not make it on Saturday so we agreed to Sunday. The installer left a message saying he could not make it on Sunday. The installer did come on Monday and completed the job. Maybe our experience is an outlier, but the in-process quality of this company is lacking, promised communications with subcontractor did not occur, when a problem was known, there was no sense of urgency. Once the job was started it took a full month to get it completed (so 2 ½ days is a month).

Obviously, this was a customer we were not able please. And there were real issues with the job. Primarily about a dozen doors were ms-ordered some due to a transcription error which didn't come to light till we were on the job. This is not a quick fix as there is a 3 week cycle time to get the doors reordered and finished. I admit I caused a scheduling problem by forgetting to call the customers back in the the evening to confirm that our installer was coming back to finish up then next day, after talking with the customers about it that afternoon. So there was no key left out and our installer couldn't gain access when he came over the next morning. We suggested coming back over the weekend to finish up. We had no idea the customer was going to cancel a trip out of town, my installer had to cancel that appointment and the customer became very upset about the situation and told me about their cancelled plans. We pride ourselves on doing great work and creating very satisfied customer relationships. Our goal is to exceed client expectations by providing high quality products and delivering a smooth installation process. In three years of doing business, this is the first client we were not able to totally satisfy. I apologize for the issues and inconvenience this member experienced and hope that he understands this was not typical for our company. I am glad to hear this client is happy with the finished product. We attempted to make up for the issues during the project, but understand his frustrations.

We need to take time to understand what service people really need before agreeing to come out for an estimate, so we really need to discus what they are looking to accomplish up front. Taking a few extra minutes to help someone by pointing them in the right direction if we can't help them, just seems like the right thing to do.

Our customer chose to reface an very dated looking Oak kitchen in Rosewood stained Maple. Additionally we rebuilt an unused desk into a cabinet to house a wine cooler, and added a 20" cabinet to the end of her peninsula to make room for dual slide out trash/recycling bins. She had a great idea for the peninsula extension part of the project. Since she was keeping her granite, she had us put a butcher block maple top on the cabinet extension. Did away with the problem of matching the existing granite, and looks great.

Dennis and his crew did an excellent job. Scoped out thoroughly and completely with various change orders discussed and documented as the project proceeded. Excellent communication throughout. Also helped with design choices like color and door styles. Overall, the kitchen looks like I spent $40,000 instead of the fraction of that cost actually incurred.

This job falls into what we classify as a fancy kitchen/bath project. The existing cabinets were all finished in Black. For his refacing project, our customer chose to upgrade to Mitered doors and Drawer Fronts, and selected an off white base/brown antique glaze for his kitchen. With the bath portion, he went with a stained Maple. Both the kitchen glaze finish and master bath stain selections were custom matched to his requirements. We replaced all the drawers with new dovetail constructed drawer boxes, mounted on Blum BluMotion glides. The BluMotion glides are the best available, and are made in the USA as is everything we supply with the exception of door pulls and knobs. Other items included rebuilding the fridge case, and supplying a new wall cabinet. There was also a large door style panel piece we had made by our door vendor for the back side of his peninsula, which measured approximately 10 feet long by 33 inches high. We often put these door style panels on cabinet ends, and back sides of islands. Using the door style panels are a beautiful alternative to flat hardwood panels in those areas. If you look at our job photos on Angie's List, or on our own site http://refacecabinets.biz you will see several examples of door style panels. There was one unusual touch. The owner specified three very nicely detailed posts to go under the granite overhang on the back side of the peninsula instead of the usual corbel supports. The effect of the posts in front of the door style panels is striking. Should have photos from this job fairly soon. Just waiting for the owner to have his backslash replaced, which was not part of our project. Then I will go back to take "after" photos.

Dennis Callahan of Reface Cabinets provided excellent service. He was very professional. He was punctual. He explained the whole process, and the various options. He was quick to respond when I called him with questions. While he was here I got an e-mail from a Big Box store with a special "discount" if I agreed that day. His price, with no pressure to make an instant decision, was 6 thousand under the Big Box store. That made my decision very easy. The installation was very professional and I have received many compliments on the finished product. Any minor problems were quickly resolved by him or the installer. A kitchen remodeling can have many nervous moments but this was overall a very pleasant experience. I have the pleasure of enjoying the entire kitchen remodel, with the cabinets being the most conspicuous part and I also have the satisfaction of knowing it will significantly increase the value of my home. I have no hesitation in recommending Dennis and Reface Cabinets. John Mulligan

This job was another fancier kitchen project, with mitered doors and matching mitered drawer fronts finished in a creme base/golden brown antique glaze. We replaced all the drawers with dovetail constructed boxes mounted on Blum BluMotion glides. We built a fridge case, and replaced a cabinet section as part of the project. Also applied door style panels to all the cabinet ends and around the sides/back of the island. We have our door vendor make up those 3/4" thick maple panels to match the look of the doors, and they are a beautiful alternative to flat hardwood panels. Since photographing this job the owner changed the color scheme of the kitchen walls, from painted to a venetian plaster. Really stunning effect. Need to go back for new photos. Will post them as soon as available.

We had an issue with the microwave built in. I chose a trim package that I did not like after installation so they redid it and now I am happy with the result. We transformed this kitchen from "builder white" to a gorgeous stained solid Maple in a custom finish. We include the choice of custom stains and colors in all our jobs, and our customers went over and met with our head finisher to come up with their stain. The trim kit problem our customer mentioned in the review was really odd. It was a chrome escutcheon kit, which the distributor of their microwave provided to the customer, but it was too wide for the microwave, and had a gap on both sides. This wasn't apparent until after flush mounting the microwave in their cabinets. The solution was to install the microwave back further in the cabinet behind doors instead of flush mount. As mentioned this turned out to be a great solution Regarding the miscommunication at the start of the project; I heard the customer ask me to enclose the tops of the cabinets in maple panels stained to match the cabinets, since they have a loft and the she did not want unfinished cabinet tops to be visible from above. So we included the Maple paneling to cover the cabinet tops in the job, and I didn't think any more about it till I heard from the customer that she wasn't happy for two reasons. First off, the back side of the crown molding wasn’t finished (it usually isn’t) because I’d forgotten to tell the finishers to do so. Staining the back of the crown molding is easily remedied in the field and we took care of that with a matched wipe stain. The customer also told me she wanted the panels covering the tops of the cabinets to be up near flush with the tops of the crown molding, not mounted down to the tops of the cabinet boxes. In other words she wanted the panels up about 3 inches higher than they were, so she could put display items up on top of her cabinets and not have them partially hidden behind the crown moldings. I missed that when I originally talked with her or we would have done it that way before they were installed and nailed down. We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so we sent our installer back out and spent several hours raising the cover panels up to near the top of the crown molding as requested.

Overall everything went as planned. We had our entire kitchen refaced in a beautiful dark rosewood cherry color. The cabinets look absolutely fantastic! We also got new soft close drawers and soft close doors and are extremely happy with that decision. The only issue we had was that the hardwood floor was damaged when the refrigerator was moved out of the way due to a defective wheel on the refrigerator. We then had the floors refinished; however, the floor re-finishers took several chunks out of the new cabinets with their buffer. Dennis was so kind as to fix those for us for a very reasonable price and even fixed a couple of spots at no charge. We also had a new pantry put into a nook and when the door was scuffed in transit he made sure it was repainted correctly rather than just touched up. I would definitely use this company again! My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

Our customer choose a beautiful Rosewood stained finish for her solid Maple refacing job, and her kitchen really looks nice. Point of clarification. We do include the soft close lifetime warranty door hinges on all our refacing jobs at no extra cost. If customers elect the option to have us replace drawer boxes as she did, we supply dovetailed drawer boxes on Blum BluMotion soft close under-mount glides. These made in the USA glides are the best available and also carry a lifetime warranty. Regarding the pantry doors she mentioned in the review, we discarded them and started over with two new ones after the finish was not acceptable on the first set. Reface Cabinets is serious about achieving 100% customer satisfaction.

It went very well. Dennis Callahan visited - he provided expert advice on design and options. He promoted an estimate with options. Once we made our final decisions, he and his crew provided expert craftsmanship and installation. There was great communication and we are very pleased with the final result.

Our customers were doing a fairly extensive make over of the home they had just purchased. We refaced their cabinets which were a fake wood grain laminate with white shaker paint grade Maple doors. We worked closely with their designer to come up with the exact color for the custom dark gray/almost black bar we built for them. The result is really beautiful and we really enjoyed this project. As part of the kitchen/bar part of the project, we provided 24" deep fridge case, replaced all their drawer boxes with dovetail constructed drawers on Blum BluMotion glides, and installed several full extension pull out drawer shelves in their base cabinets. There was a separate part to the project which was additional add on work, to rip and replace their master bath vanity, and reface another vanity upstairs. In the master bath, the customers had us make their new custom maple vanities somewhat higher than standard which was the main reason they were replacing the original vanities. This work had to be co-originated on a tight timeline with some other trades, and to make sure the customers could move in to their their new home on time. All in all a great project.

This was a great job in a very large kitchen. The customer's white cabinet boxes were not yellowed and she wanted to stay with a white kitchen. What she didn't like were her builder grade MDF composite wood doors. She wanted Shaker style so we just ended up replacing her doors and provided a few decorative Shaker style end panels. Lots of doors, and some were very large. Since the finish on her cabinet boxes was fine that saved her a significant amount of money. Usually we need to reface the boxes before we replace the doors. There is a short video of our standard process on lower right of the main page of our site at refacecabinets.biz

Our customers had just purchased a high rise penthouse with the most "unusual" Black, Orange, and Yellow striped Grass pattern finish on the cabinets. They had us reface the cabinets with classic looking doors in an elegant black finish. Working in a high rise does entail some extra costs to a project as the process is less efficient because of having to bring all the tools and materials up an elevator in several trips, in this case at certain times of the day since there isn't a separate freight elevator in that building. Some condos have very high liability insurance limits for contractors and may insist on being named an additional insured to the policy which can drive up remodeling costs. Just something to be aware of if you are thinking of buying a high rise condo and doing renovations, that the costs may be higher than would otherwise be the case.

Overall, it went according to schedule, which was helpful since it had to be done for Thanksgiving. There were a very few additional fixes we needed after the work was complete, and Dennis has been very responsive and the updates have also been high quality.
Description of Work: We had the kitchen updated, including granite countertops, cabinet refacing, and wallpaper removal and painting. Reface Cabinets coordinated well with the other contractors. Dennis worked with me on what we wanted in the finished product, and we extended the cabinets up to the ceiling, added in some pullouts, and updated to hidden hinges and soft-close drawers. The end result looks very nice and I am very pleased with the quality. The Reface Cabinet team was both professional and delightful.

We bought a new house with terrible cabinets and an awful island. We knew from day 1 the kitchen was going to be the first project and we called Reface Cabinets before we even moved into the house. I called Dennis based on the stellar Angie's List reviews and he came out to give me a quote the following day. As previous reviewers have stated, Dennis is an absolute professional and does a great job of explaining the style and finishes available, explanation of procedures, projected costs and estimated time frame for the work - I chose Reface that evening without getting another consultation. If Dennis was awesome on the sales/business side of the house, Bill is equally as awesome on the installation side. Many of the reviewers have stated it before so it doesn't require a lot of additional explanation, but Bill is amazing at his job. Not only is he an awesome carpenter but he is truly a nice guy with a lot of cool stories. I was/am totally 100% satisfied with Reface from the beginning to the end of the process. Highly recommend these guys; you won't be sorry if you choose them.
Description of Work: Existing cabinets were refaced with 1/4 inch glazed hardwood panel, with crown molding, rope molding, bottom molding around all cabinets, new doors (38) , new drawer doors (12), slides and hardware were expertly installed. Specialized decorative panels installed on 7 surfaces. Two new maple cabinets were fabricated to create new island.

This job took quite a bit more attention that the average one to get everything installed on a very short timeline before their move-in date. Example: We built some new boxes from 3/4" Maple plywood in 3 days to enlarge their island, so those boxes could be set when our guys went out to measure the job to order all the materials. This had to happen fast so the new granite (other vendor) could get installed to make the rest of the schedule happen. Was about 3 1/2 weeks from first meeting to having the job installed.

Description of Work: By refacing our kitchen cabinets we wanted to get the look of "New" kitchen at a fraction of the cost. We were able to keep our countertops and backsplash intact, as well as the floor and appliances. We did get a more beautiful kitchen than we had ever imagined! We went from "builders white" which were peeling and discoloring after not so long a time.....to a fabulous cherry wood kitchen and incredibly cool hardware to match. Dennis Callahan, who initially came out to give us an estimate that we could compare to two other companies, was by far the most professional and concerned about detail. Everything we discussed, that we needed to understand, had examples shown for us to visualize what it would look like. Also, all the guarantees and legitimate licenses were fully displayed and the fact that the company has been in business for many years did instill confidence. When the installers arrived, it was evident that their professionalism mattered to them. They obliged us with whatever we needed to understand and asked for. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this company and do highly recommend them. Sincerely, Lois Bronstein

This job included a learning experience for us. It so happened that one of the base cabinet doors was just under 7 inches wide and was made as a 5-Piece drawer front instead of a door, which we had ordered. The vendor didn't take exception to the order, but later said they couldn't have built it as ordered. Aesthetically this narrow door looked fine (matched all their new drawer fronts) but hinges for doors will not mount in a 5-Piece drawer front frame because the frame is smaller. Since this was something we'd overlooked and the customer didn't want an alternative style we could put door hinges on, we installed that 5- Piece drawer front fixed to a slide out spice rack which is normally a $350+ option, for no charge. We are serious about our 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.

Dennis was a very patient and knowledgeable sales person and walked us through the multitude of available options, such as wood type, painting versus staining, corbels, glass, etc. We went with cabinets painted in Martha Stewart Talc color with a new island painted Tulip Poplar. Dennis works with a superlative team of carpenters and cabinet painters who transforms plans into reality. Once measurements were taken and finished samples approved, the product is ordered and work scheduled for ~3 weeks out. At install time the team of Diane and Bill Kaplan along with Mitch the blade man on the saw, come to your home and work diligently to reface the boxes and install the doors, drawers and molding. This team rocks (literally, they like classic rock on the radio while the work), and you'll feel very comfortable having them in your home for a few days executing the work. Creative, skilled and personable, they take a lot of pride in their efforts and basically treat the work space like it's their own home. The work took 2.5 days, a heckuva smaller interruption to the daily routine then had we gone with a gut and start over approach. I highly recommend this team.
Description of Work: There are a lot of positive reviews for the Reface Cabinets business so mine will likely echo what many people have already stated, which I will summarize simply as: an excellent experience. I had a previous quote to redo my kitchen which entailed pretty much taking everything down to the studs and starting over, with a price tag to match. Researching more cost effective options I went with the reface the drawers, boxes and doors route and pretty much halved the cost of the entire job, which also included new lighting, granite and a glass tile back-splash. Dennis was responsible for providing options and pricing on the cabinetry part of the job and was also able to provide a granite supplier as well, Granite and Marble Solutions, who were very good to work with.

We are very fortunate to have chosen Reface Cabinets for this project. We agree with previous reviewers who have complimented the high level of professionalism and skill involved in all phases of the work from start to finish. We were happy with the structure and layout of our approximately 40 year old kitchen cabinets, but wanted a new look, so refacing made more sense than replacing them. We considered 3 companies, including Reface Cabinets, for the project based on Angie's List references. Reface Cabinets made the most favorable initial impression by far in terms of clearly presenting all choices of style and finishes available, explanation of procedures, projected costs and estimated time frame for the work. While the cost involved was substantial, we have a relatively large kitchen with lots of cabinets, drawers etc. and the beautiful final product fully deserves an A grade in the price category. In our opinion, the business professionalism, quality of materials., carpentry/installation skill, pride of craftsmanship and overall keen attention to detail delivered by Reface Cabinets, LLC is second to none. As a previous reviewer noted, if an overall A+ grade could be given, we would do so.
Description of Work: Existing cabinets were refaced with 1/4 inch stained maple hardwood panel, with crown molding around all cabinets, including around island vent hood, and new doors (35) , drawer boxes (18), slides and hardware were expertly installed. Also, a refrigerator surround cabinet was constructed. Specialized decorative panels installed on 4 surfaces.

Excellent job from beginning to end. Dennis provided us a complete quote and superior service. He was always responsive to my emails and phone calls. And took care of any issues promptly. Bill did an excellent job on the installation. You can tell he takes pride in his work and makes an extra effort on having everything done right. Bottom line the cabinets look fantastic. Very pleased overall and would highly reccomend Reface Cabinets.

We had an excellent experience with Dennis and Reface Cabinets. It was above our expectations, and if it was possible to give an A+ I would. We had been considering replacing our cabinets and got a several quotes before calling Dennis. Our granite fabricator at Granite and Marble Solutions suggested we consider refacing our thermal foil white cabinets instead of replacing them. She recommended we call Dennis at Reface Cabinets. Dennis came out and explained the process and showed us samples of the door and drawers fronts. He was very helpful and and prompt at answering phone calls or emails, and never put pressure on us or tried to sell us more then we needed or wanted. He was very willing and helpful in researching wood vent covers for our oven range, which we opted not to do, but again there was never any pressure. Once we made our decision he sent Bill out to measure and a week later we had the cabinets installed. He too was very easy to work too. When the custom refrigerator surround was installed we noticed that the paint on one side was rough to the touch. Because he and Bill stand behind their work, they removed it, had it repainted and reinstalled. They were are very respectful of their clients, and are a pleasure to work with.. My kitchen is cabinets are beautiful! I highly recommend refacing and Reface Cabinets.
