POINT CONSTRUCTION & PAINTING

Though the work this company did for me was some time ago... seeing them listed here propelled me to write a WARNING of DO NOT HIRE! If you want "cheap" work, by all means hire him but that means you will get exactly what you paid for... cheap, unprofessional work. He will promise you a lesser price if you do it his way, but what you get is CHEAP work. He will also tell you that certain jobs are not possible, only to find out that they aren't -- he just doesn't want to do them!. The paint job he did for me was mediocre at best... I hired Rich and his crew to correct some areas that were damaged by a previous painter. Rich badmouthed the previous painter (should have been my first clue) and then told me he could correct it. But all I got was more of the same and worse. There is very little prep work done prior to painting... another painter came in after him for half the price and did a stellar job because they took pride in their work. I also had Rich install cabinetry, wood flooring and beadboard in my kitchen. Most of this ended up being a botch job! The cabinetry wasn't measured correctly, so I've had to live with an area over my stove that is too large for the microwave oven. Plus, he left the doors to the cabinetry in a non-climate controlled area so that my doors have been peeling ever since... even after refinishing! They cannot be fixed. He installed beadboard beneath the breakfast bar that looked warped and unleveled, seams not straight and the paint was coming off in places. He told me that the problem was my unleveled wall and that he couldn't fix it. (I have since paid someone just $200 to fix the problem.) The quality of the floor install was in a word "atrocious"... the trim in the door frames was literally butchered and holes were left everywhere along the walls and around door frames. The trim was not stained to match the flooring (if at all); and I had sink holes and excessive splits in multiple areas. The flooring salesman -- and a couple other installers -- came out to inspect the floor. I was told that the problems I was experiencing was due to bad installation, and a couple stated that "this is the worst flooring install I have ever seen". I asked if the floor could be mended and was told that it was so bad that they wouldn't recommend it... it would "look like it was patched." They also told me that the reason my door jams were ruined was because the flooring installers probably used a dull saw. The photos attached basically say it all! And Rich ignored all of this and walked away, after first telling me that I was just one of those women who couldn't be satisfied. STAY CLEAR of this guy... I have since found out from others who worked with him in the past (and refuse to now because they are fearful of their reputations being tarnished), that he has been fired from a number of jobs.

RICH BENNETT IS VERY POLITE AND HIS ENTIRE CREW IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. EACH DAY THEY WOULD CLEAN EVERYTHING UP AND ALWAYS RETURNED ON TIME THE NEXT MORNING. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE JOB AND WOULD RECOMMEND POINT CONSTRUCTION & PAINTING.
