Marcus did excellent work, is totally knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around. He absolutely knows how things are made and skilled at construction. Highly recommended.

Was told that the deck needed addtional repairs and asked them to quote replacing a front door and some 1st floor windows. I have left 2 voicemails, 2 texts and 3 emails and zero response. Work was good but follow up is poor.

Perfect. Responsive for making the appt, Timely for appointment, completed work, cleaned up. Answered misc. questions on plumbing and some other work I need to get done around the house, painting, stipple removal etc. Reasonably priced for this job and on quotes for future projects.

Angie's list best come up with another method of payment. It is wrong to be charged for a service-through the web site-then have the professional never show up. Its a great way to make money but you have an unhappy homeowner. I will never use the site again. Please cancel my membership to Angie's list.

Since it was striped it did not hold well . I bought a new faucet called Elaine and Marcus came back out next day and installed the faucet for only an additional 50.00. crediting me 50.00 from the day before.. The communication with Handier Than Thou was excellent promptly returned my calls , I had called other companies and did not get a call back or they did not answer their phone from some of them. to be fair their were a few who did promptly answer and polite.

Elaine promptly responded to my online booking Saturday, then scheduled the faucet install right away. I purchased a matching light fixture and messaged to Elaine if the handyman could install it on the same day. The answer was "of course". Marcus and his helper were prompt, professional, and courteous. I will use and recommend this company to family, friends, and neighbors.

Marcus from Handier than thou did a very good job replacing our 2 bathroom faucets. He was efficient, professional, and seemed very competent. I was extremely pleased with the pricing of the job. Another "A-rated" Angie LIst plumbing company quoted 600.00 for a job that Handier than Thou did for $140.00. Scheduling was a little challenging. It took over a week to get the plumber to my house. My interactions with the office were pleasant but I found myself having to take the initiative to call first to find out where things stood with scheduling. Overall, very pleased and would use their services again.

Job was bit more difficult than anticipated but company honored quoted price.

I had to call for a status on the service - when I got no-showed for the first two scheduled appointments. Maintained an open dialogue and got the job done finally. The owner came along for the service call on my third scheduled visit.

The owner said that we would receive a returned call with a time for the service to be performed. The next day, after the call didn't come in, I called them twice, received voice mail both times, and left a message that we were waiting for the call. The company never called back. Frankly, I don't understand why they are in business if they do not want to have customers. I cannot recommend a firm that doesn't know how to return a call, so even if they are fantastic, there is no excuse for not responding to a customer.

Well, it didn't start off very well as he was 3 l/2 hours past promised time. However, I was able to keep up with his messages and he did let me know he'd be late. I guess it was a more difficult job than expected, lots of quirky hoses and things - but he stayed for at least two hours until he got it right. He was pleasant and efficient. He told me that there was usually an extra charge when hoses had to be cut and things had to be "fitted," but he let those charges go because he was so late All in all, he did a fine job.

I purchased the Big Deal for bathroom faucet installation. Initial communication with Handier Than Thou got off to a rocky start. The owner indicated some personal unforeseen circumstances accounted for the communication problems. Due to weather and traffic the installer Marcus Oliver arrived later than the scheduled 5pm time. Marcus did a professional job in replacing the faucet. In the end I was pleased with the service of Handier Than Thou and will use them in the future.

Bought deal through Angie's List after confirming they served my area. Was told that I would hear from the company within 48 hours to schedule. After more than that time had passed and still did not hear from anyone, I contacted them. No one returned my phone call. Later on I received a brief email stating that they would not serve my area. If I had not contacted them I would have never heard from anyone and they would have kept my money. Now I'm trying to battle to get my money refunded.

Had to reschedule time and provider was late.

No issues. It was a 3 person team that arrived on time. My supply line was rusted/rotten so it started to leak after the faucets were replaced. They drove to the local hardware store and purchased the part(s) needed to correct the issue. I would definitely use them again.

I requested for a quote to build out a cabinet beneath a television and to install French doors. Elaine and a gentlemen came to my home on time, reviewed all the items and said that they would provide a quote that evening. Well after 3 days later and two unreturned phone calls we have received no quote and no follow-up so I say NO THANKS!! I will find a vendor who respects their potential customers.

for what seemed to be a simple task, they had trouble getting the light fixture to fit properly, but eventually did.
