Truly Excellent Experience!!! Most every homeowner dreads the inevitable day of needing to fix or replace a roof. And lets face it, the day rarely comes without a catalyst, like either water coming into your home or some huge hail storm landing golf balls all over your house. For anyone who has experienced a significant hail event, you know that those golf balls hitting, didn't do anything good. I mention hail events because we learned quickly just how complicated they can be, especially as it relates to insurance claims. After a large hail event in our area, there were literally dozens of roofing companies canvassing the neighborhood for business. Lets just say that some of these representatives, while likely well intentioned, were out of their depth on some very significant details as it related to hail events. While it is well beyond the scope of this review to share every single event or step that was required to complete this process, let me share that without the professional guidance of Greg Ginaven and Dr. Roof - we would have been up the creek without a paddle. And I should add that this process took months, not weeks or days. It was very laborious and required a steady professional hand. Greg provided that key assistance. These ranged from knowledge of the need for code driven improvements to working to find appropriate colors that fit within HOA's with very picky architectural covenants. Once all was greenlit for actual roof replacement, the rest of the team shined bright as well. From responsive coordinators to a terrific onsite QA inspector to the team of professional installers. Our roof was extremely high pitched and very high off the ground. The landscaping surrounding the house was new and extensive. The team was highly conscientious to place extensive tarping to cover and protect the landscaping and face of the house. This crew worked incredibly hard. They began each day at the crack of dawn and were there until twilight. We didn't mind because they were trying to complete the job to beat bad weather that came into the forecast. As one who has had a few roofs put on homes over my lifetime, the attention to detail with this team was the highest level. I watched them labor over details that would never have been seen by someone on the ground. This project took a total of four days. It easily would have taken more by mere mortals. And it would have probably taken 2 or 3 for any firm that didn't meticulously attend to the important details. They sub contracted the installation of copper barrel dormers. While the work done by the sub contractors looks great, there was just such a difference in the TLC and professionalism of some of the staff that they don't manage directly. I shared this with them and they responded instantly. Hard to ask for more. When the project was completed, they were incredibly thorough in doing Quality Assurance to make sure all was perfect after the hustle and bustle of completion. Mercedes, Lexus and BMW are brands that have pretty strong reputations for quality and service. Well let it be said, that based on this experience, Dr. Roof meets or exceeds the Mercedes, Lexus, BMW standard. I recommend them to my friends and family and would not even think a second about who I would use for a roof issue in the future. They earned my customer loyalty by doing a great job. I hope this review might help someone who is looking for a great roofing contractor. And just one more thing. While ordinarily it would be extremely advisable to get multiple bids on any large price home improvement project. Interestingly, because so much roof work is done under the watchful eye of insurance companies, the pricing for this work is essentially hard wired. Now this doesn't mean that there can't be some negotiation on net profit factors (which can influence pricing) but there really shouldn't be massive differences in pricing from highly reputable firms that do it right and stand behind the work. This is only to suggest that you will ultimately get pretty close to what you pay for. And Dr. Roof will work with you. Highest recommendation.

I was 100% satisfied with them. I was very happy with their work. They were on time, did what I asked and were reasonable on price.

They came out promptly. Their tech was able to review the roof and point out the problems with the boots of the vents. We settled on a price and time to fix the problem. We have been leak free ever since. Can't say enough about their professionalism and promptness. Definitely some one I would recommend.

The good: Roof replacement was excellent. If this were the only work performed, I would rate it an 'A' across the board and would highly recommend to all. The TERRIBLE: Numerous - Contractor went through multiple onsite managers during the project and I never knew if workers going to show or not. The deck was painted less than 2 hours before it rained and the finish has not held up well at all. The 6 windows replaced in the box bay on the front of the home were ordered approximately 4 inches too short. Contractor's 'solution' was to raise the sill to match the window size rather than re-order (you can see how the gap with a 4-inch board just below the upper windows in the attached picture). The craftsmanship of the wooden box bay was sloppy (e.g. butt joints instead of angled scarf joint on vertical boards; small filler pieces and bondo instead of ripping down a wider board; not priming before painting and having knots show through, etc.). The box bay had to be completely torn off and replaced in less than 7 years. Finally, the canopy over the front door, which was replaced with non-rot materials, did not have any pitch on the top. Water pooled and caused rot on the adjacent window. The thing that is most upsetting is that I paid over $400 to have some curved brick molding replaced above some rear windows. Instead, bondo was used and it was painted over. Unfortunately, much of the unsatisfactory repair work was completed while I was out of town and did not present itself until a few years later; beyond the 1-year warranty. I learned a lot from this project. Overall, the pricing was good (if carpentry performed correctly). I have resisted posting my experience, as Dr. Roof's numerous positive online reviews indicate that my experience is an anomaly; however, this website has sent me multiple requests to share my experience.

Dr. Roof was recommended to us by Animals B Gone. I included them as one of three bids. They were the lowest of the three and very credible in conversation with them. They did a great job and showed me each damaged piece of roof sheet that they needed to replace. They finished ahead of what they projected and did a great job cleaning up the site. We were happy enough with them as a company that we are including them in a bid on windows.

Very professional. The work promised was performed well and on time and on budget. We had a problem with the carpentry estimate. The problem was resolved to our satisfaction. We would hire them again.

Very satisfied with the work done. Good coordination; company adjusted when I had to delay the start date. Not the cheapest option, but worth the price.

Generally went well. However we did have a deluge mid way through and water got into the house. The on-site super had to leave early and the quality person was missing in action when the rain event happened. The rain damage was repaired, but it seemed very cumbersome and at times as if the back shop was out of touch. However, the work done was great.

They did an outstanding job. The removed the old roof, replaced rotten plywood and fascia, and put on a new roof. They brought in a dumpster, and cleanup was excellent. I only found 2 nails anywhere, and they were under where the dumpster was. I reccommend them and would hire them again.

Processs was easy and smooth. Dr Roof was professional and quick. Very happy with the repairs and will be hiring again to fix squirrel damage on my roof as well.

I should have been a little leery from the onset when the estimator did not climb onto the roof to inspect what was needed or examine the exact location of the leak. But I realized that Dr Roof has been in business many years and my leak may have been commonplace, plus another company had already provided a similar description of the problem. I did choose to use Dr Roof based on the many positive reviews on Angie's List. They arrived on the scheduled day to do the work and said previously that it was ok if I was not there. The work crew marked the job complete after the first visit by leaving a "work completed" card on my door. However the work was not finished and I noticed some quality issues with the work that was done. I contacted Dr Roof, provided some pictures, and they assured me that they would correct the situation. No big deal. However, my concern is that after a second visit to repair the roof, in my opinion the color still did not match the original shingles and some of the original contracted work had still not been completed or even started. (Please note: I do understand that a complete color match is not possible for a 10 yr old roof.) However, I had hoped that Dr Roof would have done better to ensure that a job, one that had to be redone, was completed to the customer's satisfaction. Four days after the second visit by the work crew, I had to contact Dr Roof with my dissatisfaction since they never reached out to see if it was complete. At that time I decided it was better to agree on a reduced price for the work they had completed rather than have the same crew come out a third time. Dr Roof agreed to that request. My feedback for Dr Roof going forward is to do a better job of monitoring the work to ensure its completeness and quality. Follow up with your customer and review the work of your crews no matter how small the job.

The work was done as scheduled. The worker was on time, professional, and cleaned up the site.

It was several times over the last year. They started in the spring, came out again sometime later in the year when I had a different leak and then they came by recently to check something that turned out not to be a leak. They came out free of charge to check it. I would tell a friend that if they need roof repair they should call them. They're reliable and honest. I guess the most important thing about them is, they don't come out and try to sell you a brand new roof just because you have a small leak. They try to repair and get the most life out of the shingles you have. I don't know roofers that would do that. They're very good about that. The workers are great. The time in the spring when they came out, our bill was around $1200 for a repair. They came out, gave the estimate and then the crew came out and did their work. They were very quick, courteous and cleaned up. It was minimal time. The bill was exactly matching the estimate that they had given us. The crews are good. In fact, Arturo, the guy that comes out for us every time, he has had the same crew for years and years. They're very respectful and very nice.

They did a great job. They actually repaired the leak where other people could not. It was a fair price. The quality was very good and they were very responsive. It was as advertised, they did what they said they were going to do and what I required be done. Everything was great.
