Chimney Pro Cleaners

Bad. Not impressed and would not recommend. My husband made the mistake of buying a groupon from this company for two chimney inspections and cleaning services. Two people arrived, one who did the inspection and the other for sales/owner. They inspector was knowledgeable enough abut the chimneys, but only did a visual interior inspection of the fireplaces, no exterior inspection of of the external parts of the chimney. They only cleaned one fireplace, leaving my second uncleaned (even though it had burnt wood in it, but I guess it wasn't dirty enough for a full cleaning because it was only a lightly used fireplace). They seemed rushed from the beginning to get in/get out and were more interested in selling me gas logs than conducting a thorough inspection and cleaning. The inspector neglected to put down a drop cloth when cleaning the fireplace, leaving my white painted brick covered in soot, which he tried to then clean with dry paper towels (only making it worse and spreading the soot) and didn't have the proper cleaning solution to take it off (see pic of how it was left). Following the service, I asked for a quote for white birch logs and fyre glass plus labor installation and a quote for glass doors. They were unable to provide me with a written quote for anything other than labor for installation ($129/fireplace) and verbally quoted me white birch logs at $800 (nearly $250 more than where you can get anywhere else). When I continued to email the owner, Rueben, requesting a written quote for the entire job, including the doors, he could never provide it and said they would need to come back out and measure for the glass doors (to which I reminded him they already measured when they were here and that was the quote I asked for!). Very unprofessional. To the inspector's credit, he did offer to personally paint my fireplace if we elected them for the installation, since it clearly needed repainted following their visit. When Rueben finally followed up a few weeks later re my reminder they already measured each fireplace, he indicated that the inspector "was no longer with the company." By that time, however, we had already selected another, more professional and less expensive, company. (Example - $90 for two inspections/cleaning and they would get on the roof and do a full exterior inspection!!) Bottom line - this company is ill prepared to provide the services they advertise and don't have the capability of giving clients written estimates for what is requested or repairing the damage they caused. In light of the inspector no longer being with the company, I asked Reuben for $25 credit to repaint the fireplace. He said he would mail me a $25 check for the repainting of the fireplace. To-date, not received. I was left with a good inspection of the fireplaces (b/c I do think the inspector was very knowledgable) but two dirty fireplaces, one that I have to pay now to repaint and both which I had to repay another company to do what they could not. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
