Marvin & crew were punctual each morning, worked hard and constantly throughout the day. Also cleaned up kitchen/dining room each evening for use. Was responsive to any requests for touch ups, nice and and respectful group.

Showed up as scheduled. Actually they could have arrived two days earlier, but I could not support that. Painters were personable and knowledgeable. Wall preps were done expertly. The prior owners had many nail holes using 12-penny nails as hangers--yeh, that's right. A prior patch job they had completed (or did) resulted in two raised sections about 1-foot and 6-inches in diameter that looked bad as well. The team worked those out so they are no longer noticeable. Other issues were addressed as well. The team was efficient and finished the job with time to spare the same day. They protected my floors and large furniture. Cleanup and moving furniture back was completed. We walked it down and I could not find any issues to address. That is unusual for me. My wife and I could not have been more pleased with results. Also on paint color, the office and then field team worked with us. They normally use Sherwin-Williams, but my wife only liked the paint color selections from Valspar and we wanted the best performing paint identified by Consumers Report (which was Behr's Marquee). Needless to say we got exactly what we wanted and the wife is happy, happy, happy...so all is good on the home front. We have other painting needs for future items such as after remodeling our bedroom AND will be using them. I just cannot do as professional looking job as these guys. Glad I found them on Angie's List.

Wes, the estimator was professional and the only estimator who was on time as promised. He was informed and professional. Quote received within a couple of days. We hired them, and scheduled the painting. They delayed our project start by one day, due to delays in another project but we were informed in advance. They started work on a Tuesday, and finished within the five day time frame. The painters were pleasant, and hard workers. Marcus, was our point of contact during the project. He provided his number and was approachable throughout. When they completed the work, we had a list of touch ups which were quickly addressed. They were pleasant and professional throughout the process. I would recommend them, and I'd probably use them again. My only complaint , and it's kinda a big one, is they did not drape or close off the upstairs of the house. The paint spray dust from their paint sprayers coated everything upstairs. I was able to scour and scrub the paint off the bathroom floors and counters, but our furniture has a seemingly permanent coating of paint spray on everything. It wasn't immediately apparent, but when we moved lamps, candlesticks, etc it became clear that paint dust is on everything. I'd asked Marcus for recommendations to clean paint off stained wood furniture, and he recommended Goof Off, which is a solvent I'm almost confident would ruin the finish. I've googled for advice. Scrubbed with various cloths, magic eraser, and sponges without improvement. I've used plastic scrapers, mineral spirits, Murphy's oil soap, guardsmen furniture deep cleaner, and lots of elbow grease with no significant change. All the furniture upstairs seems permanently damaged. It's disappointing and could have easily been avoided with a little preparation. UPDATE 5/1/2015: after posting the above review, Chris, the painting company owner contacted me. He came and assessed the damage to our furniture, consulted with a furniture repair company, and the work was done today. He covered the cost of the furniture cleaning and shared the cost to repair the finish on the dresser I ruined in an attempt to remove the paint overspray. Overall, he did what he could to make it right. Not many customer service experiences go the extra mile like that.

Pre-contract interface was very professional and courteous. Pricing was the lowest of the 3 contractors I got off of Angie's list. The job took 1.5 days to paint the interior of a 2 story, 3 bedroom townhome with 3 different colors, one being 2 red accent walls which is the most difficult color to handle. Painters were very professional and courteous and did an excellent job of cleaning up all during the job and at the end of the day and job. It was a new construction and I took down all the metal shelving in all the closets and pantry. The painters repaired the holes from the metal shelving and were very responsive to any flaws that I identified. At the end of the job, they went back over the entire townhome to ensure no remaining issues.

[UPDATE 2/22/15] The owner, Chris Camp, called me up shortly after my review, and we were able to discuss the situation. He apologized for the extra time it took me to clean up everything and provided compensation for that time. It was nice of him to call, and I believe his remedy and act of good will was more than adequate. Nice to see businesses stepping up to make things right and determining to have a great company. I appreciate it. ----------------------------------- I contacted five companies to perform the work stated above. Only two responded and one said my job was too small; so I chose Atlanta Painting Company for the job. The crew arrived on time at 8am and immediately began work. Living room furniture was covered with plastic along with shelves and TV. The floors were also covered. The crew was polite, asked questions about the job to confirm the work that was to be done, and were not any type of disturbance while I worked upstairs. The work of repairing the holes in the ceiling and walls and repairing the ceiling and walls where the wall was taken down went smoothly, and the job was done nicely. You can barely tell there was ever any damage. Painting the ceiling also went well. It wasn't a large area so it wasn't too terribly involved. So for this aspect of the job I give a B+. However, the cleanup is where things quickly went downhill. There was a lot of drywall sanding in the dining room; however, no barrier was ever put up between the dining room and the living room or the kitchen. This could have easily been done since it was such small area. As such, drywall dust began to fly throughout the air and throughout the first floor of the house. This wouldn't have been too big a problem because things were covered with plastic; however, at some point, the plastic was removed from the living room furniture, shelves, TV and floor, but sanding continued in the dining room as the crew tried to dry the drywall compound, sand it, and paint it. At one point I walked downstairs and there was a cloud of dust floating through the air. A layer of fine dust coated the entire downstairs. Efforts were made by the crew to clean the floors, and they removed all their tools, debris, and trash, and moved all the furniture back. However, dust was everywhere. It was 5:30pm. I had to pickup my kids, and all I could do was leave it alone. I spent two hours that night and another hour the next day washing the floors and wiping down every square in of the first floor. I contacted the job supervisor that evening about the situation, and he contacted me the next day. I sent him pictures of dust all over the electronics, shelves, kids' toys, and kitchen. He apologized and said he would mention it to the crew and then talk to his boss. He called again later that day, apologized again, and then asked if I wanted to keep the remaining balance of the cost on the same credit card. That was it. No effort was made to rectify the situation (I had pretty much cleaned it all up myself by then) and no offer of providing a discount/reduced price for my inconvenience was made. They had every chance, but chose not to do anything. I'm not one to whine and complain and demand my rights and restitution. Were the situation more serious, then yes, I would have taken things to the next level. But I think businesses should do the right thing the first time and make it right on their own. My response will simply be this review. I'm not losing sleep over what happened. I just won't use or recommend Atlanta Painting in the future which is too bad because I'm at the beginning of renovating my house and will have a lot of painting and drywall repair to go, and I'm a real estate agent and won't be recommending them to any of my clients. Again, a good job with the actual repairs and painting, but the execution at the end wasn't quite there. So for that I give them a "D" and average the job out to a "C."

This is going to be long so sit down, put your feet up and pop a beverage of your choice.. I got estimates from six companies. Theirs was not the least expensive but close. Least expensive is not necessarily the best deal. A number of estimates were 60% higher. It came down to East Atlanta Painting Company (The Painting Company) and one other. The other I had used before to repaint the interior of the garage and they did an excellent job at a fair price. I initally chose The Painting Company because of their responsiveness, the professionalism of the sales rep Jon Biel and the fact that the company's logo was on his vehicle. I like that. I am also a fan of contracts as it protects both parties. Jon sent me the initial proposal quickly. Then the fun started 'tho probably not for him. If you are a married male then you will understand this concept...the missus had some additional thoughts on what she wanted done but not all at the same time. Over the course of about two weeks we made six changes to the initial proposal. One of the changes was that my wife wanted the closets painted at a later date. Talked with Jon and he agreed to that but of course there would be an upcharge which was absolutely minimal. Each time I called Jon with a change, I had the updated proposal within hours. This folks, is customer service. So now we have a finalized contract and of course my wife wants it finished yesterday. Jon had told us to expect a two week lead time which is fair. While I'm on the contract, they want 25% down and the remaining 75% when the job is completed AND the customer is satisfied. It doesn't get any better than that. Now I call the office on a Wednesday and reach Andrea to give her the deposit and get on the schedule. She tells me that the painters will arrive the following Monday between 8 & 9 am. She just saved our marriage as my wife is ecstatic. Everything had been way to smooth to this point so do the painters show up between 8 & 9 am? Not a chance. I hadn't finished my first cup of coffee when there's a knock on the door at 7:30 am. Fredy and his team are ready to start. He has the work order and we do a walk through of the house so he can get his bearings. By 8 am they're ready to work. Three hours later Marcus, a field supervisor, arrives to make sure I am happy with the operation. I had stipulated in the contract that the job would be completed in four days. 2 & 1/2 days and they're done. 100 man hours, 25+ gallons of Sherman Williams Super Paint (it ain't cheap) and the house looks fantastic. The quality of the work and the attention to detail is remarkable. On the final walk through with Fredy he noticed a small area above a cabinet in the master bath that was missed. One could only see it from a certain angle and we probably would never have noticed it. He did. Fredy and his team know what they're doing. The Painting Company has it's act together. It is a pleasure to find a customer oriented company like The Painting Company. To be clear, the $4300 included all paint, labor and taxes.

All employees showed up on time both days and performed with courtesy and performed an excellent painting job. Will refer them to others.

Marvin and his crew were professional, very customer focused and extremely skilled. The wallpaper was old and difficult to remove, but they did an outstanding job. They were hard working and we couldn't be more pleased with the job they did.

3 workers came at the same time each day, on time, efficient, and polite.

They did a thorough job of prepping the house. The old paint had peeling spots & there was some rotten spots. They applied two coats. Job looks great.

All 4 bids from various well-reviewed companies came in around the same price. We chose The Painting Company because their price included stripping the wallpaper off 4 bathroom walls instead of painting over it as every other painter suggested. They chose the hard solution for long term gain, not what was easiest for them. Our house was empty at the start of the 5 day job, and we had to move in around the painters on Day 3. They accommodated us wonderfully and never once balked at the annoyance. They did a great job and cleaned up beautifully after themselves. My only complaint is that the walls were all to be matte, and they are all eggshell, but I played a role in that confusion, so it's not surprising, nor did I complain. Walls will wipe down more easily, but show every imperfection in the 20+ year old walls. The job was done well, quickly, and affordably. I'm pleased! Team leader was Alexis who is kind, patient, fluent in English and communicates well.

The crew showed up on time everyday. They were professional and meticulous regarding the painting details. The foreman of the crew, Marvin was a delight and very hardworker. The project manager was available at all times if needed. Our home looks amazing! :)

The painters started on a Thursday and finished on Monday. They were always here at 8:oo am on time and finished each day at a reasonable time. Reasonably priced.
