After reading so many good reviews, I'm surprised and disappointed by the low quality work I received from the Painting Company. At first, the experience was consistent with other reviews - good. Wes came right on schedule to assess my deck. We talked through the work that needed to be done, and he promptly gave me an estimate. The cost was a little on the high side, but I was willing to pay more for quality. The old stain was peeling from about one third of the deck boards, so Wes wrote in the contact that all worn deck boards were to be sanded as well as the top of the rails. When it was time for work to begin, two workers arrived on time to pressure was the deck. They did a good job. The next day (Saturday afternoon) after letting the deck dry they returned. When I asked one of them what they planned to do that afternoon, it became clear to me that they didn't know what was specified in the contract. So I retrieved my copy of the contract and explained to them that the worn deck boards and rails were supposed to be sanded. They seemed confused and were reluctant to remove the old peeling stain commenting that it was more work than expected. At that point I tried to call the company's office, which was closed, and then resorted to calling Wes's (salesperson) cell phone since I didn't know who was managing the project. I left Wes a voicemail. The two painters at my house peeled off old paint for a little while and then left saying they would be back Monday morning. On Monday morning, three workers arrived with palm sanders and sanded the deck for a short while. Then I noticed that they had begun spraying the deck without masking off the house. Masking the house adjacent to the deck was required in the contract. After I brought this to their attention, they stopped spraying and masked the house with plastic. Sometime after painting resumed, Marcus arrived at my house introducing himself as the manager. Marcus was holding a piece of old stain that he peeled off of the deck. He expressed concern that the old stain was peeling off in areas. I said yes that is why the contract called for sanding the worn areas. I expressed my concern that the crew was not adequately preparing the deck before applying the new stain. We agreed that it was necessary to remove the loose stain before applying new stain. I also informed him that the crew had begun spraying without masking the house. I left him at that point. I don't know what Marcus directed the crew to do but as far as I could tell, the crew continued spraying after he left. The crew did a very nice job of actually applying the stain; it's very even and neat. However, I can see areas where they applied the new stain over old stain that is bubbling and peeling. I can pull off areas with my fingernail. In summary, very good job painting, but bad prep, which means some of the work will have to be redone and I wasted money. I feel like the Painting Company had multiple opportunities to do the work right, and doing it right wasn't something extraordinary - just remove the old loose paint before applying new paint.

The crew showed up at 8:30 Tuesday and got right to work. The pressure washed a very large deck, scraped peeling paint on some of the trim and removed downspouts and hardware on the garage doors. They caulked every imaginable little speck of a place that needed it. They crawled all over the house with the caulk guns. Before I knew it, the house had been painted and they were working on the trim. In basically 3 1/2 days they painted our large 2 story house and we asking me to do the walk through. They had done such a great job, there was nothing left undone. Best contractor I have every hired for anything!

East Atlanta Painting Company is excellent. We've already referred them to our friends. They finished early and they did a really great job. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to go with them.

We hired them to paint the interior of a house we recently purchased. If I had to describe the quality of their work in one word: superb. The painters arrived -- and completed the three-day job -- on time. And the job was flawless. The cost was very competitive and everything from the initial quote to cleanup was handled in a prompt and professional manner. Danny, the job foreman, deserves a special mention because he changed a burned out bulb for us on the beam of our living room's vaulted ceiling that we couldn't possibly have gotten to ourselves. We would recommend The Painting Company to anyone looking for first-rate quality at a reasonable price and plan to use them again when it's time to paint the exterior of our home.

A++++. It was a true pleasure to do business with the East Atlanta Paint Company. I started the estimate working with Paul, but came into contact with many folks along the way who were wonderful. The East Atlanta Paint company was so easy to work with, their work is top notch, and they stand behind it! We searched high and low to have someone who could do stippled ceiling removal in the entire whole house- and take my word for it- don't just hire anyone- because there are some horror stories of failed job attempts out there. These guys will do a fantastic job, and it's worth it if you care about the end result! It's not an easy job and takes a special set of skills. Finally, I brought them in for some interior painting. From ease of scheduling to professional project teams. All the way around a great experience. So accommodating and professional and GREAT with communicatoin. I will never turn to another painter in Atlanta!!

I located The Painting Company via Angie's List. Their office staff sent a representative to my home within one day of my call, and the following day I had a complete written estimate with a detailed description of the work to be performed. The entire job took two full days. The crew consisted of four men. The lead person told me that they have been doing this work for 15 years. On day one, they did the power washing, repairs and/or replacement of dry rot, and started painting. On day two, they finished painting and cleaned up. They were really conscientious about clean up (e.g., no paints smudges on windows). They also covered shrubbery next to my windows and deck/porch floor boards while painting. They were prompt and professional. I probably could have saved a few bucks with another contractor, but ultimately you get what you pay for. Additionally, their work is guaranteed for three years and they put that in writing.

My condo community was built in 1984, so it has those horrible popcorn ceilings. Mine had water stains and would drop little white lumps on the floor. I've loathed it since I moved in and finally decided to get it removed! Jon came within 24 hours to give me a very reasonable estimate, and I decided to go ahead immediately. The crew was very efficient and polite, and got the job done in two days. My condo is 1178 square feet, so I was impressed. I wanted to sleep at home, so they very kindly did my bedroom first and it was immaculate. This is a tough job, I know because I researched doing it myself (I must have been crazy). I am so pleased with my new ceiling and appreciate the fine job they did!
