Atlanta Painting Company

I was very impressed with the quality of work this company did when it came to repainting our kitchen cabinets and repainting our living room and a couple of upstairs doors and trim. The pricing was fair. The only reason I am not giving this a full 5 stars, is due to the project manager, Connor not effectively communicating. We had to follow up with him consistently in order to ensure things were completed which is what I believe the project manager should be doing...other then that the painting was top notch. I would recommend the company again as long as the project manager is doing what they should be.

They were great. Very efficient and they did a beautiful job. I would certainly recommend them.

I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the Painting Company's job on my exterior painting. They were vert punctual and everything went even better than I would have expected. The crew was hard working and the foreman was in touch with me every step of the way.

I previously used The Painting Company to paint my house exterior siding and trim, which is 3 stories high over the driveway. Amazing job down to each fully caulked joint. I contracted them again this week to paint the interior walls of the house. This company is such a pleasure to work with, from the office to the estimating to the job crew. They are all professional, happy and go above and beyond the call in preparation, execution and cleanup. I highly recommend them for both interior and exterior painting. Our painters (Jose's Crew) were great! They protected our floors and furniture. They made sure that all lines were crisp, neat and clean. They were very attentive to detail. They always went back over their work to make sure there were no runs or missed spots. We are extremely pleased with our freshly painted house!

Excellent workmanship that was a par or better than the more expensive "other guys" I have used in the past.

Awful. They did not finish the caulking, they refused to paint the top of the carport. They got black paint on the white.

Fantastic. Ron is very professional and knowledgeable. His crew works clean and communicated with very well.

They did a great job in one day and left the place very clean. Could not have asked for a better job. Real professionals.

The project went well from the time the estimate was prepared until the painting crew cleaned up and left. All of the work was done very professionally and neatly. All of the people we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and professional. I highly record this company.

Spectacular experience. From beginning to end, it was great customer service. I had a change in my request a couple of days out, and it was handled like a pro. Each step of the process was explained to me, and when I picked the wrong sheen, they immediately called to let me know the better option for kitchen cabinets. The painters showed up each day on time, and they were so meticulous with each little detail. The cabinets turned out incredible. I had all the cabinets painted inside and out including under the sink. They look brand new. I mentioned another part of my house that had become frustrating to me the way it was painted by another company. The painter walked me through the possible options and how they would handle it. I'm going to use The Painting Company again ASAP.

A disappointing experience. The sales person was prompt to show up but took 6 days to provide a quote. After I accepted the quote, I had a question for him but could never get him to answer my e-mails or my phone calls to the office. On the day the painting was to begin, no one showed up during the time window I was given. So I called and was told the crew was delayed at a previous job and would show up during a new time window. When they didn't show up then, either, I called again to ask what was up. No one from the office proactively called to let me know what was happening. Eventually, the crew showed up...minus the project manager. They asked me to tell them what to do and seemed skeptical when I said the storm windows would have to come off before painting. They asked if they could remove a couple small branches; after I said yes, they proceeded to start removing branches other than the ones I indicated. During this time, I was calling the office yet again, this time telling them the project was off to a terrible start. They seemed surprised that the project manager hadn't even been in touch. The painting, itself, once underway, was done to my satisfaction...though I have trouble believing that "walking" ladders against the wall while standing on top of them would be a practice endorsed by OSHA or any insurer. The job took a few days, and I never knew if the painters would be coming on any given day, nor at what time - this was inconvenient, as I don't normally hang around the house 24/7. Once the painters were done, I immediately received an e-mail invoice, even before the project manager came out to ensure my satisfaction. When I told him I was surprised by that, his comment was something to the effect that "the boss likes to get paid right away." No sooner had he left than I received a phone call asking for payment. Getting them to return my calls and come back out to unstick some windows was yet another pain. After multiple attempts, I eventually got them out and all is now well. In sum: painting quality is OK but customer service is sorely lacking. Commitments are not kept, calls are not promptly returned, and the project manager does not actually manage the project - YOU do. Next time, I'll try somebody else.

Overall I was happy with the job done and felt the price was reasonable. I would consider using them again. A couple of things I wasn't completely happy with: - There were some small areas on window trim in front of the house which had been repaired with bond and not adequately sanded by a previous owner. I asked and was told by the Painting Company Sales Rep that these areas be sanded down to match the rest of the trim. He told me it could be done and it was in the contract. However, thought there may have been some sanding done by TPC, these areas pretty much look the same as before (e.g. not adequately sanded) though there is new point on them now. - Subsequent to the walk-through, I found several areas where point had been dripped and partial paint foot prints on front porch and sidewalk. I was able to remove these myself using plenty of elbow grease and a wire brush but I did not expect to have to do that. - There is supposed to be "daily communications" with the production team as specified in the contract. I would say the communications could be improved leading to greater customer satisfaction. I would expect to know by evening of each day what work the paint crew plans to do the next day and what if anything I need to do including opening windows and doors.

I found this company by using Angie’s list. I had 3 bids done and all prices were similar. I chose this company because the sales person , Genna Bowman, was the most knowledgeable, had the best attention to detail, and was a pleasure to do business with. When Juan, the painter, arrived right on time, I was impressed with his detail to follow the exact scope of work provided by Genna. All questions were answered befor any work was done. He was so willing to work around the rain and took extra care that the wood was totally dry. He solved several problems that we found when the wood was removed from the house. I was impressed with his ingenuity on not only solving the problem, but also making it look great. He took great pride in his work. I was so pleased with the job he did, I gave him a great tip to thank him for a GREAT job. I don’t want to overlook the staff in the office. Wow. There were several people I talked to, and each one had my job on their screen to answer any questions that I called about. This is a very automated company. I will never have to look for a paint company again. They were that good.

Very professional and courteous crew. Worked with us on some changes from the initial contract with no complaints and reasonable pricing. Very happy with results.

In all fairness, I cannot recommend this company as our experience with them was horrendous and we still have unresolved issues that we do not have the wherewithal to continue to fight the company to rectify. We hired The Painting Company to paint the exterior of our rather large 1.5 story home, which included applying two coats of paint on the body and trim, repainting wrought iron railings, gates, and an exterior wrought iron spiral staircase. We were under the assumption that the painters were employed by The Painting Company and under the supervision of the Project Manager assigned to our job. We later discovered that the painters are subcontractors and the project manager is not on site nor comes to the site to check the work. The first "professional crew" sent to our home consisted of a supposedly experienced painter, a middle-aged woman, and a teenaged boy, neither of whom had painting experience. The painter began to spray paint our home before doing any of the prep work, which would have included replacing wood, sanding, caulking and extensive sanding and prepping of the iron staircase, and properly covering the glass windows, doors and brick patio and plants. When I questioned the painter, he brushed off my concerns, including my concerns about the paint he was getting on my new light fixtures, windows and brick patio. Concerned about the quality of the work and the two unqualified "painters," I asked the painter to stop working and called the Company. The project manager came out and told me that this was a new "crew" and he was unaware that the woman and teenager would be there. He promised that a new crew would arrive the next morning. However, a new crew did not come until 2 days later, and as we were having out of town company and a party over July 4th, the delay meant that the house would be in a state of disarray. The new crew was much more professional, however, they also continued painting prior to doing the sanding and prep work on the wood, the iron railings, and staircase, which meant that sawdust, black iron dust, and iron chips were now all over the new paint. They also told me that they would not paint the removable window grids as that was "inside painting" and there was an extra charge. They also only painted one side of the shutters so the old color was evident between the slats. I was at work when the painters finished the job and that evening, I got a phone call from The Painting Company asking for payment. I told them that I wasn't even aware that the work was finished and that I expected the Project Manager to walk the job with me so we could go over the quality of the work and do a punch list, and also, that I would receive an itemized bill, especially as the amount they asked me for was higher than the amount I believed I owed. And when the bill did arrive, I discovered that they failed to credit me for the second deposit I made, which was why there was a $2400 discrepancy between the verbal amount they asked for and the amount my records showed. Then, the Project Manager did not show up for the walk-through, only one of the painters. As I pointed out areas that needed attention, I got pushback. The painter objected to removing the paint splatters and overspray from the windows, French doors, brick patio, walkways, rubber, thresholds, and light fixtures as he claimed the other painter did it, not them. He did agree to "wipe down" the numerous (too numerous) areas that had sawdust, black iron dust and iron chips embedded in them and do touch-up upon areas they missed. There were also dents in the gutters from the placement of the ladders without cushioning behind them, which he also blamed on the previous painter. As the painter and I could not come to an agreement, I demanded that the Project Manager show up. He finally did, and I went over the punch list with him and he promised that all of the items would be done, including a semi-power wash of the brick patio to remove the overspray and paint splatters. Prior to the punch-llst being completed, I received numerous emails and calls asking for payment, which I found totally obnoxious as the work had not been completed and they were giving me pushback on completing it. As I had to be at my office, I left the oversight of the work to the Project Manager, trusting that he understood my dissatisfaction, and would make sure the work was done correctly. Later that afternoon, I received a call informing me that the work had been done and again asking for payment. I complied and paid in full. I then inspected the work when I returned home and discovered that there are still many areas that were not done. I still have dented gutters, there is a coating of white overspray paint on all of my windows and doors, and I have black iron dust and iron chips embedded in the new paint, along with paint splatters everywhere. I'm also worn out and no longer have the stamina to continue to fight with The Painting Company.

The painting company was very professional. They were quick about giving me a quote. The quote was free, which I appreciate. The quote was cheaper than some of the local companies. After getting the quote, we decided to get new windows as well. They waited until we had the windows installed and honored the quote. Everything went as planned. They finished on time and cleaned up after themselves. We were very pleased with the results.

Team worked hard, was very thorough with prep and cleanup, and did high quality job. Quickly resolved any requests I had while project was underway. Was helpful in scheduling work to make sure cats didn’t sneak out open windows, we could access garage, etc.

The painting was good. This 3 day project turned into 2 weeks. Tons of issues I had to find on my own, they didn’t tell me they had made all of these mistakes. They spilled paint on my carpet in the master (which I found after the furniture was moved back), then burnt a hole in my carpet trying to get it out (they did replace the carpet), they ripped the white paint off the exterior trim (which they had to paint, as we didn’t need it painted originally), they also tore off a chunk of wood on my wooden cabinet (which they replaced). Also just found out the piece of hardy siding they were supposed to replace was done with regular wooden siding (we just found this issue and had already paid so this wasn’t taken care of). All of these issues were fixed but such a headache as my house had JUST went on the market. I had to repeatedly call the manager back because he didn’t call me back when he said he would. Again, all the issues were taken care of, but still wouldn’t hire again.

The job was done in a very professional manner from the beginning to the end. From the person that did the estimate to the fine folks that did the painting and trim repair to the people in the front office, everyone actions were exemplary. The crew did a great job showing up on time and putting in a good day's work each day. They were tidy and did not make a negative impact on my shrubs or lawn. The price for the job which included extensive repairs was a true value. There were no surprises. I was apprised as to the costs up front. I definitely would recommend them without reservation or qualifications. They also stand behind their work.

I am extremely pleased with the work that was completed. Had my entire house pressure washed, painted, and rotted wood replaced. My job took approx 3 days to complete and the crew was extremely professional. They worked quietly and efficiently. Also did an excellent job of color matching. No complaints and will definitely use again. Jason was my POC and he responded promptly when emailed and answered all of my questions.
