Animals B Gone

Description of Work: The Animals B' Gone crew sealed all the holes and gaps in our attic which included removing an attic vent, screening the opening and then repainting the vent/grate. They screened and sealed all possible pest entryways to our crawlspace as well. They also placed traps in our attic and returned two additional times to check the traps. The crew of 7 men worked for approximately 6-7 hours to complete all of this work.

Description of Work: We had a problem with Woodpeckers living in the frame around our chimney. These guys came over and did a thorough inspection and determined that they were not in there at this time. They then covered the holes with sheet metal flashing. They offered to replace the siding to cover the flashing, but as I'm going to be getting new siding in a few weeks, I told them it was not necessary. They also trimmed back a number of tree branches that were hanging on my roof and side of the house that would have made it easy for squirrels to get in those holes.

Description of Work: I called Animals B Gone because over the winter I had heard animals scurrying around in my attic. A representative came out to look over my house and assess the scope of the infestation and how the animals were gaining access to the house. He produced a work and cost assessment and walked me through what they would do in order to secure the house from animal entry. A couple days later they came out and sealed up all points of access for rats to the attic and crawl space (numerous gaps around the eaves, approx 10-12 vents, and several holes). At this time they also set traps to catch any rats that were now trapped in the house. Several days later they came back out to empty the traps. During a final visit they collected the empty traps and sprayed a disinfectant in areas where rats had been.

Description of Work: Sean inspected my home after our family heard scratching noises behind the walls. He identified several areas that might allow small animals into the home. I felt so strongly about Sean's expertise and thorough approach that I didn't even bother with other bids. On the day of work, Sean and his crew went around the entire home, top to bottom, and sealed off every single access point. Traps were installed in the attic and the eaves to catch any critters who might have been sealed into the home during this phase of work. Sean came back several times to check and empty the traps, until he was satisfied that all of the animals (in our case, flying squirrels) were gone. No noises at all since Sean and his guys were here!

Description of Work: Removed flying and grey squirrels from the attic, sealed areas along the roof where squirrels were entering, disinfected the attic, cleaned the gutters, and sealed all visible roof leaks.

Description of Work: We have had problems with rodents off and on for years and I finally got sick of setting traps every winter. Sean came to the house and did a detailed inspection. Following his inspection we talked about the way the animals were getting into the attic and basement and he summarized the various solutions. I then received an estimate by e-mail, which included options from which we could choose. We opted to have all of the recommended work performed, and we put rodent guards on the gutters - no more rodents (I hope) and no more cleaning the gutters!

I called “Animal B Gone” as soon as I’d read some of the testimonials and now, I have to agree, “Animal B Gone” is THE BEST! After Orkin identified the noises in our attic as roof rats and pretty much just furnished traps and left us on our own, we decided to try a true pest specialist. One afternoon I parked next to a another exterminator’s company truck in Home Depot’s parking lot and asked the driver some basic questions. This competitor told me that his company charged $195 to come to the house just to evaluate the problem and then trap setting was $5.00 per trap plus the cost of sealing the house. He said it would be well over $1,000, all without seeing my house! That company was mid-way on the Angie’s satisfaction list. “Animal B Gone” was # 1 on the list. We’re so happy we called them. The trip to evaluate our house was free and very thorough. Sean, the operations supervisor was at our mid century ranch, at my convenience and on time. He went in both attics, our ½ basement and on the roof. He took digital photos as documentation and explained everything in detail. He explained how the work would be accomplished and promised a bid would be emailed the same evening with the photos. He kept that promise. We had our estimate, photos, contract, and his companies’ proof of insurance and liability coverage to us that evening. (And there was a discount for mentioning Angie’s List, too.) Once we signed the contract, via fax, he said he could come out the following day. But that wouldn’t work for us, so he came out, at our convenience, two days later. Again he was very prompt and brought a crew of 3 and they worked non-stop, all day in 17 degree cold to seal our house. The caulking was professionally done. Wire mesh to cover the attic and basement vents was painted to match our house, the garage door was sealed and multiple roof vent covers were custom fabricated. He documented the changes with more photos. (We did a physical inspection as well.) Then he set numerous traps. The cost of the traps was in the estimate and there was no extra charge to remove them or check them (like the other company charged.) The first trap check went well. The employee arrived on time, checked all areas and did not find any snapped traps. The second trap check was scheduled and the employee “forgot” the appointment. I had to call and ask if he was still coming. He said he’d “lost” the appointment reminder due to switching out “Blackberries” with another employee. ( Even though we heard noises in the attic and thought we heard a trap snap, when the traps were finally checked, nothing was found.) The third trap check was scheduled for 5 days later, but the employee never called or came to our house on the appointed day. We believe the animals are gone – which is what we contracted for. So we are satisfied.

We had trouble finding a company but lucked out with Animal-B-Gone. They came out, assessed the situation and recommended we seal up every opening into the house. Work was done in late-Fall 2007.

Description of Work: Performed complete inspection of basement and attic to detect access points. Closed all access points into our attic to keep flying squirrels and other critters out. Had to remove the gutters to do this and then replace them. Screened all attic and roof vents then painted them so they matched the house trim. Provided an initial escape route for anything that might have gotten in (we had heard something), then when we were sure nothing was in the house they returned and closed off that access point.

Description of Work: I had critters in the attic and in the gutter system for about a month, either playing badminton at night or practicing floor exercises for the Olympics in the morning. When I called Animals B Gone, Sean came out and did the most thorough job one could imagine for inspecting a property. He got on the roof and checked all of the nooks and crannies and took PICTURES with a digital camera to show me where the squirrels/rats had chewed-in and chewed-out of my attic. I had places on the side of the house that faces the woods that were damaged that I didn't know about until Sean showed me. Sean also came in and checked the attic and the basement and did a thorough inspection job. When I called to get a competitor out there for a 2nd opinion, all they did was check the gutter system and declared one problem with the gap between the roof line and the gutters. They didn't check the roof, and they didn't walk around the house OR even check the attic. Animals B Gone did a great job inspecting and with that info they were able to give me 2 options on dealing with the problem of animals invading my attic.

Description of Work: We recently experienced a "rat" problem. All of a sudden, we could hear gnawing and chewing under the floor-boards of our home. We also noticed chewing marks outside our kitchen door leading to the deck. This was an obvious attempt by rodents to invade our house. Squirrels had already invaded the attic, through holes we had in our soffits, which gave them access. We would hear them cavorting over our heads as we tried to sleep. We had had enough! I thought I was getting pest control, but what we got were master craftsmen who went over the entire house, from roof to attic to basement to garage. Their plan was to deny access to these creepy crawlers.
