Advanced Chimney Sweeps

The Advanced Chimney Sweeps technician, Bill was slightly delayed on arrival but did call in advance to let us know of his delay, which was fine. Bill swept the chimney thoroughly, and inspected both inside and out. He protected the hearth and carpeting/floors prior to cleaning, and kept the noise and chimney soot to an absolute minimum. He was very friendly, and most importantly did not try to sell us a service we did not need. He even adjusted the gas burner pipes in addition to the sweeping and inspection,as well as provided some maintenance advice for us. I would definitely call them back for future service without hesitation, and highly recommend them to anyone.

Advanced did a wonderful job - from scheduling to actual service. Scheduling was immediate, confirmed with a call, showed up exactly when expected. The work was done efficiently with no mess, which others could have done, but IN ADDITION, I got a complete report which reviewed all aspects of the chimneys' condition, noted any existing or potential problems, and listed all the prices of future repairs. They were completely honest, and very complete in the evaluation and in their explanation of the results. I have used other sweeps in the past, and without a doubt Advanced Chimney Sweeps is the best I have ever used. I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

We had just bought the house and was notified from the previous homeowner that the fireplace had not been used in several years. We call Advanced Chimney, they came out and conducted a complete inspection and cleaning. Dan was very thorough and took very good care of our carpet and surrounding area, keeping everything covered and cleaning up when he was finished. Great job, would definitely recommend.

Called several chimney sweeps and decided on Advanced Chimney Sweeps. Dan actually had business in our area about a week before our scheduled appointment, called ahead, and asked if he could swing by to perform his services. We said, "Sure!" Dan arrived when he said he would, went straight to work by inspecting the exterior and interior of our chimney, and then cleaned the chimney making almost no mess whatsoever. He was soft-spoken, professional, intelligent, and articulate. He honored a discounted rate even though we were beyond the discount period. What else can I say? Dan's a good guy, and Advanced Chimney Sweeps is a good company.

Overall, it is unsatisfactory experience. First, the technician was at least one hour late. Although one person from the company called me about 10 minutes before the appointment time to notify me, I had to push back my other schedules. Second, the technician seemed only care about taking out my gas log and add the lighter. At the first fireplace, he just looked up from inside the fireplace very briefly and he told me that it is OK to burn the wood. Then he started to take out the gas log and attach the lighter which is available inside my fireplace. I was a little concern how come the inspection took such a short time (less than one minute). He also told me that the chimney was not straight up. In that case, in my understanding, he would not be able to see through the whole chimney if that can be called as inspection. After he finished the first fireplace, he went to the second one. For this one, he even skipped looking up the chimney and went straight with removing the gas log. I was even more concern and asked him if he needed to take a look at chimney. After that, I took an even more brief look from the inside (pretty sure even less than 30 seconds) and told that the chimney is fine. After all of these were done, I insisted that he go up to the roof to take a look from the outside to make sure the chimneys are OK, especially the one which is not straight. He agreed. From inside the house, I saw him take down the ladder. I assumed that he climbed up to roof, but very quickly came down. He told me that the chimney was not perfect, but OK to burn the wood, and I need add some seal and paint to top pans. My biggest disappointment is that he is not professional in inspecting the chimney, not mentioning being more than one hour late. I am the first time to use the chimney service, but pretty sure that a quick look can not be qualified as inspection.

The serviceman was prompt and professional. After inspecting the gas fireplace he indicated that it did not need to be swept, and did not charge me for that one. The wood-burning fireplace was in need of cleaning. He did a thorough job. The house was just as clean when he left as when he came.

As we are now heading into the winter months, I wanted to get my chimney inspected and cleaned (I ahve seen the damage a chimney fire can cause). I selected Advanced Chimney sweeps, due to the positive reports on Angies List. The technician arrived on time and quickly inspected my chimney. He advised that a cleaning was not necesssary this year, and based upon my usage of the fire, he recommended a cleaning schedule of every 3 years.

Great! Dan was very professional, efficient and surprisingly quick given that we had never had the chimney swept before.

The guy was excellent. He was really good. He really did a great job. He told me that one thing wasn't necessary. It was a reasonable price. I appreciated that. He could have said that everything needed something, but he didn't. He just said he needed to do whatever it was. I got the impression that he was honest and thorough. I really thought we were in for something major. We hadn't had our chimney cleaned since we lived in this house. We renovated the house in 1998 and we moved in 2000. We had bought it in 1998. We had never cleaned the chimney. I was expecting horrible things. He told me that the buildup of whatever was not bad. He could have said that it was horrible and really charged me a lot because I wouldn't have been shocked, but he kept everything really reasonable. He was perfectly on time.

The firebox in my fireplace had sunk back, allowing bees access to my house. After receiving a recommendation from a local fireplace store, I checked ratings on Angie's List, and called Advanced Chimney for an inspection. After looking at my fireplace from inside the house and from the roof, Tenny from Advanced Chimney determined that the firebox could be reset at minimal cost. He noted that the rain pain on the chimney was rusty, but advised that it would last about 2 more years. As I wanted to reface the fireplace as well, I opted for a quote on replacing the firebox, flue and chimney. Tenny also was able to recommend a masonry company that I ended up using as well. He contacted that company and received a preliminary quote for me. After meeting with the masonry company he recommended, I proceeded with Advanced Chimney to do the work. I greatly appreciated their flexibility with my schedule, working on a Saturday, so I did not need to take time off from work. Tenny was punctual, and proceeded to do a great job. Though glass doors are not recommended on fireplaces due to the heat, because of my curious dog, I wanted them so they could be closed when the fireplace was not in use. Advanced Chimney accommodated my request. The work was done in a day, and all debris was cleaned up before he left. The new firebox, in addition to the masonry work done by the company they suggested, have given me a beautiful new fireplace. I highly recommend Advanced Chimney, and will be using them in the future for chimney sweeping.

Everything turned out very well with this company. They were on time to the job and very professional. I would defiantly use this company again.

Excellent service. Very Helpful. I called the company, and they were able to come out the same week. The technician showed up on time. He inspected the chimney inside and outside. He gave me his estimate to clean the chimney. He was honest that the chimney really was not that bad and it would be ok if it was not cleaned at this time. I went ahead and had it cleaned anyways. He then gave me an estimate for a cap. He felt a cap was needed, and I agreed. He ordered the cap, and it came in the next week. He called me when the cap was in and told me when he would by to install it. I did not need to be present when it was installed. Great job overall.

I had contacted Advanced Chimney Sweeps to inspect and clean the chimney of my new home. I schedule the appointment over email with no problems. They arrived five minutes early, performed an inspection, and performed a cleaning. The appointment took about 40 minutes in total. The amount charged matched the amount quoted. Recommended!

This was a short and sweet appointment. Dan showed up promptly at 9:30 as planned and was quick, neat, and professional about his work.

Technicians showed up on time and performed evaluation of fireplace and chimney. Tech. was honest and said the chimney was not very dirty and asked if we still wanted to perform the cleaning. It has been five years since our last cleaning and asked him to go ahead. He still was able to collect 2 ½ gallons of soot.

They were one hour late for the first appointment but overall did a good job. The representative was nice and very professional...My problem is that they showed up late which seems to be an overall experience with contractors

We bought our house 2 years ago. It is now 9 years old. Don't know if the chimney was ever cleaned. Dan Groves came out, inspected it from the inside and from the roof. Said it did need cleaned, but was overall in good shape. Seemed to do a good job cleaning it and didn' leave any kind of mess behind. He also put some type of sealant on a crack we had in the back of the fireplace.

Inspected two fireplaces/chimneys, determined one didnt need cleaning. Fixed a flue damper that wasnt working correctly, left area completely clean. I will definitely use Advanced again. Really appreciated the Saturday morning appointment flexibility.

Everything was very easy to do; from scheduling the appointment to getting the chimney cleaned, to tiling the back of the fireplace. We have used this company before and will call them again.

It went great..I called Advance Chimney Sweeps and set up an appointment..they came out on the day/time we agreed upon. They arrived on time and did the work in a timely manner. The technician answered all of my questions and was very polite. Thats all I wanted and I would definitely use them again.

Next day service. Technician was courteous, knowledgable and professional. Very honest and sold me only the service and equipment that I needed. After inspection he told me the chimneys didn't need sweeping saving me hundreds.

The process was smooth and efficient. Tenny was timely, professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain to me what I needed to know about my chimneys and made recommendations without trying to sell me services that I didn't need. After inspecting and cleaning the chimneys, he measured one of them for a custom cap. The cap was ready and installed about a week later. He was very considerate of my home and kept it clean. Showed up on time, inspected fireplace inside, then climbed on roof to check chimney.

The work was done quickly and without any mess. The technician explained when cleaning would be needed again and what he found during the cleaning. He sent a camera up the chimney as well as going up on the roof for a complete inspection which really eased my mind. We will use this company again!
