Byrds Tree Service

Shane Byrd said it would be about a month before being able to get out to cut the tree down. He was responsive to texts and calls at first. 6 weeks later I got a text after calling several days and texting without a return call that stated "I hurt my back you will need to get someone else to get the tree down". This text was sent the day before the job was suppose to be done. I received a few more texts that day and tried to contact Shane for 2 weeks after via phone calls and text messages without any return call or text to discuss other providers who could assist with the tree. After discussing with several others who have used Shane as their provider for tree services he seemed to be to best priced and best service in Rome, Ga. Now after dealing with him and speaking with a few other tree service men, I would not recommend his services for trees to anyone but I will recommend A to Z tree service by Zeke Martinez. I called him after 2 months of waiting for the tree to come down and he was able to come out the next week. Also our stump grinder from Grinderz was professional and responsive to all calls and texts and did a excellent job. DO NOT USE Byrd tree services. He will line up to many jobs and if he does not want to do your job he will stop contacting you and you will have waited 2 months for something that could have been done the next week by A to Z trees or any other tree service. By the way A to Z trees quoted 2500 to take tree down, Shane was 2200 and another guy was 7000.

Mr. Byrd came out within hours of us calling for a quote. His price included 6 trees and the two other quotes we had included only 5 trees. He beat the lowest price we had been given by HALF!! It was a no brainer for us. We had to wait which is understandable since his prices are so good. We did have a couple of times he was due to come but didn’t show up but there were extenuating circumstances, once it rained and the ground was wet and the second time his bucket truck was in the shop. Once the cutting started it went fast. They did a bang up job and left a spotless yard when they finished. Their work was impeccable. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat. Sometimes things just happen to cause delays so we understand that and who wants to pay twice the price for less work? Byrd is the way to go.

Excellent job. All 6 trees cut down and removed in 2 hrs. Called in the morning they were at house with equipment right after. Fast efficient kind and good price!

On my first call to Mr. Byrd, I explained that I needed some trees trimmed or cut because I was getting ready to put my house on the market. He came and gave me an estimate, but warned me that it'd be a month before he could get to it because we'd had a lot of rain around that time, which had put him behind on his already booked-up schedule. Although I really wanted/needed it done ASAP, I agreed to wait because he was very nice/personable and seemed honest and hard-working. Plus, he'd quoted me a better price than anyone else I'd talked to, so I decided it'd be worth it to wait on him. I said ok and asked him to go ahead and put me on his calendar. After about a month, I called just to check and see if he'd still be able to get to my trees soon, as he'd initially thought. He didn't answer, and his VM box was full, so I couldn't leave a mssg. I tried calling several more times, as well as texting, but still got no answers from him. I decided to try calling once more before calling someone else, and this time, he answered...on the very first ring, no less. He apologized, said he'd been sick and had some other "life" issues, but that he was still planning to do my trees. He said he was at a job at that moment, so he couldn't tell me when to expect him; however, he said he'd call me when he had time to look at his schedule at home, and that if I didn't hear back from him by the weekend, then I should call him. I waited for his call but it never came, so I did as he instructed and called him back that Sunday evening. Again, he didn't answer, and again, I couldn't leave a mssg because his VM box was still full. So I texted him again, told him I'd tried calling him when I didn't hear from him over the weekend, that I was JW how his schedule looked, and asked him to please call me back when he could. Again, I got no answer or call back. I tried calling him a few more times over the next week, to no avail. So I texted him again to ask if he was still interested in doing my trees, and if not, to plz let me know as soon as possible so I could call someone else. Still though, no answer or call back. This is why I'm giving him a bad grade. I could understand him getting behind schedule due to life/health problems and weather issues...I know from experience that life happens regardless of how tight our schedules may be. But for him to ignore my initial calls/texts after agreeing to do the job; then to tell me (when I finally get lucky and reach him one day) that he was still planning to do it; and then to completely ignore my subsequent calls and texts again? I just feel that's extremely inconsiderate and uncalled for...especially since I'd had to wait a month to begin with! That month--plus the time I spent trying to reach him to find out when he'd be able to do the job he'd agreed to do--was a total of 7 weeks...almost 2 months! And I'd told him why I needed the trees cut from the beginning, so he knew it was a time-sensitive matter. Like I said, extremely inconsiderate...not to mention unprofessional.

Excellent work! They came in a very timely manner, were very efficient and left the areas clean. At my father's house the area where the tree uprooted was clean and leveled. His pricing was very fair and reasonable.

Excellent experience. Provider came within 2 hours of phone call to give estimate. Told me he would be back tomorrow to perform work needed as he didn't have the proper equipment with him at the time. He came the next day at the appointed time with two helpers and the equipment. Work performed with skill and professionalism. They removed all debris and even cut up the wood in lengths for me to use in my fireplace. I would highly recommend them for future work for me or my neighbors.

My neighbor was having some trees cut and trimmed. I asked Shane of Byrd's Tree Service to look at a tree I needed cut. He was delayed 1 day because of rain, but cut and removed the tree and limbs. They even raked up around the areas where the limbs fell. He had to use his cherry picker across a fence to reach the tree. I asked him to avoid hurting a nearby dogwood and blueberry bush. He never harmed either. All I have left is a stump, which I wanted to place potted plants on. I am very satisfied with the work done.

Shane and his crew were super professional. They came in, took care of the limb, and cleaned up after themselves.

Shane seemed like a great guy. Not sure what happened, but after he promised to do the work on two separate rental houses (a couple of blocks apart) he just never showed up. I called a couple of weeks after he was to have done the work, but he never returned my call. We wound up having another company do the work for us.

Shane was a pleasure to deal with. His team worked very well together. They were very professional and very kind. He seems like a very honest man. His price was very reasonable. (Another tree service we got a quote from said his price was umatchable for the amount of work quoted.) But Shane was very professional - he's got a bucket truck, chipper, log truck, bobcat, and small dump truck - so everything needed for a quality and safe job. One of our trees was very large and between our house and the neighbors'. Since it was so close to the houses and taller than the bucket truck could reach, Shane climbed it and cut it down, branch by branch - tying a rope to each branch and lowering it carefully to the ground. Very impressive to watch. We were very happy to have chosen his company to do the job. [He was also kind enough to save one of the tree trunks for us for firewood and even had one of his men cut it up with a chainsaw.] The only thing is that he always seemed to be booked solid with other jobs so we had to wait a while to finally get him started on ours! The end result, however, looks amazing and we are very happy with his work! We'll recommend him to anyone without hesitation!

Shane and his crew came over when the ground was dry enough for trucks. The trees were quickly removed, very skilled and professional. The tree Shane said was rotting, he was correct. The upper half was hollow, the tree was a danger to the house. Glad we took his advice and took the tree down. There was a recommendation to remove a tree close to the house. My husband was mistaken on which tree, so he said no. When we found out the correct tree, Byrds was already cleaning up. They promised to come back and remove the tree. We were in no hurry, and through our recommendation other neighbors were asking for tree removal. When Bryd came back and removed the tree, once again prompt and professional. We asked about removing some boxwood shrubs in the back, a task Shane said he could do. And once again, we were quite happy with the results. We bought a smaller Garden Lakes property which had way too many acorn trees in the backyard. We dreamed of ripping the weedy / bare spots / little grass backyard down to dirt, and ripping out the scraggly boxwoods. And there as an odd hump in the yard. Well, dreams do come true. The bobcat and tree removal also ripped out all the weedy, scraggly mess of a yard. We now have a clean slate. And yes, the crew did clean up. The crew used a blower to clear the roof, clear the walks and driveway. They raked and leveled as best as they could (we do expect settling where the trees were removed). --- I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

We had a wonderful experience with this company. We were blown away by how wonderful the price was as well as the work they completed. I have nothing negative to say about the company. So many people loved the work they did, they immediately hired Byrd's Tree removal after completing our yard.

Byrds Tree Service was very good. It was not perfect. I wanted the wood from the tree, and his men took one of the trees before I caught them. The price was fair. The quality of their work is good. They are so careful and they clean up beautifully. They are not very professional. They are very informal, but for the area where they work, it is just fine.

Great Job! The crew arrived on time and started by taking a few sections of the fence down to make sure it did not get damaged in the process of removing the nearby large tree. They saved some of the smaller limbs, cut them to fireplace length and stacked them neatly behind our shed.. The rest of the tree was mulched or cut into sizable pieces and hauled away. We had them grind the stump of the big tree. They racked and leveled the ground and hauled off all the wood chips. When they finished you could not even tell there was ever a tree there. When cutting both trees down, they were very careful not to damage the shed, the fence, the house, shrubs or anything in the yard. We had them leave the smaller tree which they cut into fireplace size logs that we could split later....at no extra charge. Before leaving, they replaced the sections of the fence, picked up all debris, blew the driveway clean and left the area looking clean and fresh. I was also pleased that Byrd Tree Service's rates were much better than the other two bids I received. However, I did not want to go with the low bid just because it was low. I called a man around the corner who had used Byrd to remove about a dozen trees. He could not say enough good things about this crew. After using Byrd Tree Service, I have to agree. They did a fantastic job.
