Probably one of the most professional companies I have ever dealt with. I am pretty nit picky, and they exceeded my expectations. My system has been in four years now, and has worked very well. I have seen in many newly constructed homes where the HVAC contractor would use a fiberboard main duct with flexible hoses running off of it to the registers in each room. Engineered Services uses all metal duct work through out, and then spay foamed every bit of it to boot! They use the "Water Furnace" brand of geothermal which is the top of the line. At the 3 1/2 year mark, we had a problem when our A/C quit and the thermostat screen turned red and had a message something to the effect of "Call For Service." Of course, it was on a Saturday when the company was closed. I went ahead and called anyway and left a message. Evidently they have message forwarding, as Richard, the owner, called me back within 15 minutes and was able to rectify the problem over the phone.

Arranged at a home show for an estimate for purchase and installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system.. The company rep conducted a 90 minute site on 1 Oct at my home and left promising a quick response. Having no response over a week later, I called on 11 Oct. I received profuse apologies and word that he had lost his paper containing his measurements. I thanked him and told him that I would seek a more professional installer that would put a priority on my project.

We greatly regret not being able to meet this members needs and give priority and time that he deserved on his project. We hope that he was able to find a company that was able to accommodate him in a timely manner and wish him luck with his project. We appreciate his time and consideration.

How is it possible these guys have no previous recommendations on this site? Talk to them and you'll be impressed. Talk to their reference clients and you will be overwhelmed. They were professional, knowledgeable, punctual, neat, competent, gentlemanly, responsive, hardworking and cooperative (guess that last was in their name). They figured out the best way to get the job done at the best price, even when it meant less money for them. All work was square and picture perfect. If you don't like something, they'll fix it so you do (within reason I guess). What more do you need to know? If they were average I would tell you that, but they were exceptional.
Description of Work: I obtained the design and implementation of a new ground-based geothermal heating and cooling system to replace the multiple old gas and electric systems in my 4100-square-foot house. This included the dismantling and removal of all old equipment, installation of new ductwork, new attic insulation and the digging of two 650-foot-long 4-and-a-half-foot-deep trenches through my back yard and the placement and manifold connecting of 2-inch polyethylene water piping for the obtainment of geothermal energy transfer. These guys do good work. Flex duct is easy and cheap to install but doesn't deliver air volume as well as smooth duct and also tends to trap particulate matter blown through your house that gets past your filters. That's why these folks almost exclusively do smooth round metal duct, sealing the joints with mastic and then spray foaming insulation on the outside. The result is an efficient and strong air delivery system that outperforms flex duct and increases your energy efficiency. Few go to this trouble anymore, in my experience.
