We just completed our 4th home renovation since 2020 with Half Moon Custom Homes. Robb and his team never cease to amaze me every time they complete a project. They helped us turn our outdated 1992 home into a home that i enjoy living in every day! He helped turn our garage into a mother in law suite, gave me a brand new kitchen, and updated a guest and Master bathroom. They do awesome work, thatâ s why we keep coming back ð . Robb was outstanding and dedicated to our needs in adding an addition which was a new eating area for our kitchen. All Robb's contractors from slab work , brick layer, framers to the interior work, painters and cabinet installers were top of the line. Can't thank you enough. Now we have a large room for our expanding family to enjoy.

We didnâ t know anyone in the area when we moved to Effingham County, and we had purchased a 50 year old farmhouse sight unseen. When we arrived, it needed a lot of work. Deciding who to hire for our renovations was tricky, because we couldnâ t ask trusted friends and family for recommendations. We researched a ton of general contractors before deciding on Half Moon Custom Homes. What impressed us most in the beginning was how thorough and patient Robb Dickerson was in answering all of our questions. He maintained a high level of professionalism from start to finish and he quickly established our trust in him and the subcontractors he hired for our projects. He also updated us often on their schedule. I always knew who was coming to the house and when (this was important to me because we have kids who nap during the day and a crazy/loud dog). He communicated each project professionally and gave suggestions on how to best utilize our budget. In the end, all three projects exceeded our expectations, especially the porch. The addition looks like part of the houseâ s original architecture and is far better than anything we could have imagined. We would 100% recommend Robb and his team to family and friends. We also hope to hire him again in the future to build a two car garage. Thereâ s no need to research other general contractors next time around.

Half Moon Custom Homes was a great company to work with. Things they did well: Communication - We always knew what was going on with our project from planning stage to final inspection. Planning - Experienced builder to offer guidance all throughout the project. Cost - In a strange lumber priced economy, the builder approached our project with concern and a plan to how we might be affected by materials pricing. Availability - The builder was here to oversee stages of the building project and responded to each call in a timely manner. Expectations - HMCH checked in often to make sure we were pleased with how the build was going. In the end, we have a beautiful 2 car garage with guest room and full bath.

I canâ t say enough good things about Robb Dickerson and Half Moon Custom Homes. I retired down to the Savannah area in order to build an observatory and seriously pursue my life-long hobby of astronomy. Robb has enabled my dream to come true. I found Robb through his website. Flat roof garages are not common, but Robb showcased one he had already built on his website. I also liked his passion about doing right for his clients. From our first conversation, Robbâ s obvious intelligence and knowledge came through loud and clear. Not surprisingly, Robb had never built an observatory before, but he instantly grasped some of the most important considerations â e.g., the need for a reinforced and level roof observation deck to support heavy equipment and guests, the need for dark sky compliant lighting and the need to secure access to the roof deck. I found Robb to be very organized and an excellent communicator. He always kept me updated on the status of the project and answered every question I had. And one of the measures of a general contractor is the quality of the subcontractors he uses. All of Robbâ s subcontractors were excellent â true craftsmen in their field. And although he was under no obligation to do so, Robb even helped me get the dome assembled. I am thrilled with the quality of the finished building and unhesitantly give Robb my highest recommendation.

We requested several quotes for the addition to our home, but Robb was the most professional contractor that I dealt with. He listened to what my vision was, made recommendations on how to make what I wanted even better while not hiking the price. I met with five other contractors to obtain estimates to build a 2 car garage.I instantly liked Rob and his professionalism.He listened to what I wanted,took notes and measured. His quote was fair and in line with what I saw online.All his workers were also very professional and friendly. We chose you because you were hands down the nicest, most down-to-earth person we interviewed. You made us feel like part of the process (and let us change the design a million times) every step of the way. You were available to answer questions, give advice, and calm our nerves as needed. When something wasn't perfect, you kept working until it was either perfect or as close to perfect as it could get. You also clearly know your stuff when it comes to working with city officials, which was comforting. There were a couple of charges that were a surprise to you (e.g., engineering plans, windows, garage doors), but we felt like you were very sweet in helping us cut costs where you could (e.g., getting us directly in touch with your deck people instead of taking a commission, putting in the driveway at cost). I have to say - this garage is GORGEOUS. We LOVE it. If we had to do it again, we would hands down choose you. You do good work man. We LOVE this garage and loved working with you.

After Hurricane Matthew, we needed some quick work done to get our home back in shape in two different ways (roofing and interior roof repair/painting). Robb was very patient in explaining the process, extremely professional in all of our interactions, and reasonable in his pricing. The subs Robb used were respectable and trustworthy and everything was completed in a more timely manner than anticipated, so we couldn't be happier. The job that was done exceeded our standards, and yet Robb wanted to make sure everything was great and went out of his way to do quality inspections. We will definitely be using Half Moon Custom Homes for any future projects, to include a full home build if we decide to relocate in the future.

My wife and I wanted our kitchen renovated, ceiling texture removed throughout the house and sagging sheetrock in our cathedral ceiling corrected. Robb presented the winning quote and included a couple of his own ideas in it. He started the project on time and coordinated the work well with the cabinet installation company. There was virtually no lag time between the various aspects of the project and everything was completed within the projected time frame. The guys in his lead crew, headed by Jeff, were really conscientious and a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend Robb.

His subcontractor for laying blocks was sub-standard. But to be fair there was a bad storm came up before they were able to finish.

Robb was wonderful to work with, responsive and very easy to discuss options with. And he had a lot of patience with us. Project manager Jeff was great and went well above and beyond to make sure the work was done to our specs. The whole process was pretty stress free and went very smoothly. We have some other projects we would like to do (as soon as we save the money!) and will definitely call Robb again.
