Any contractor can probably manage to schedule subcontractors to frame, drywall, wire, plumb, roof, floor, tile, paint, stain, insulate, and heat and cool. Seven things sets Jacobs apart. -First, their own people frame the house and do all of the carpentry work. Their carpenters are old world craftsmen. -Second, they always go beyond the call of duty. The proprietor is a trained engineer, and he identified and fixed structural problems in our house without being asked. The proprietor also helped us deal with a land use challenge posited with the local zoning authorities by a delightful and altogether helpful neighbor. Their prior planning before commencing construction was critical to resolving the phantom issue. -Third, neither they nor their subcontractors will scare your wife! -Fourth, we have an exceptional house because they are adept at implementing a homeowner's design ideas and augmenting them without damaging them. They are uniquely qualified to do this because of the proprietor's background and their experience. -Fifth, they care about the quality of their work. -Sixth, they insist that their subcontractors care about the quality of their work and won't hesitate to hold their subcontractors accountable. -Finally, they really listen. We managed to fix all of the problems - design, structural, and ergonomic - our house had before it burned down - when rebuilding it because the folks at Jacobs listened to us. Their house survived Hurricane Matthew intact, unlike many of our neighbors. Granted, we used hurricane proof windows and doors, hurricane proof composite concrete siding, and the Jacobs carpenters hurricane proofed the house by installing a thousand dollars of brackets attaching our house to its foundation, its roof to the house, and the like. Nonetheless, many houses built to current code and with these features suffered severe damage. I don't think Jacobs guaranteed they had built a hurricane proof house for us - but they did and we are forever grateful. USE THESE FOLKS! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

We had our deck supported with braces, solid blocking added, floor joist and joist hangers added to fully support our large deck. The work was performed very professionally and swiftly. Crew was respectful, courteous and prompt. A second project was installing garage venting, including soffit vents and a triangular gable vent, along with thermostatically controlled power exhaust fan. Again, all crew members were professional, friendly and finished on time.
