handyman service
+ -1 moreI had hired them to put a vinyl fence along the back of my property. I talked to Craig and decided that I would go with this company I paid them on Aug 27,2016. I have had to sent emails and call and threatened them to have someone call me back. Finally in September they order the wrong fence and I had to wait another week long story short they never got the right fence and now it was October and I still haven't gotten my 800 dollars. I took them to small claims court and won now I'm waiting on my money.

+ 1 moreTo start, the crew was very unprofessional and dirty. They threw construction material all over the lawn as well as cigarette butts and I had to call them back 3 times to get it all cleaned up. Once the work was complete I found out that they did not use the correct Hardy approved caulking and requested that they remove the improper caulk, re-caulk using the correct caulk and re-paint necessary areas. After numerous attempts to get them to correct the work they failed to. I reported them to the BBB and reviewed them both on their Facebook page (which they have deleted) and HomeAdvisor. Fast forward 3 years (yes 3 years, only 3 years and $26,000 later) the Hardy siding is falling off my house, the caulking around every window and every seam (because they lied and did not properly caulk the siding) is fractured and allowing moisture behind the siding, the paint is cracked and stained. Basically I threw $26,000 out the window and they have done NOTHING. I have emailed them since and no response. I understand most warranties expire 1 year after full payment, but seriously... 3 years and my house is FALLING APART! Hardy siding if properly installed is guaranteed for 50 years and the Benjamin Moore paint if properly applied is guaranteed for 30 years!!! But apparently the criminals at Affordable Remodeling aren't responsible for anything!
Description of Work: Almost 3 years ago to date I hired Affordable Remodeling and Repairs Inc to perform the following tasks: Install and order 21 custom windows, remove existing siding and OSB, replace OSB, re-wrap house and install Hardie siding, paint house using the top of the line Benjamin Moore paint that I paid for outside of the project quote. The project quote was $26,000, which has been paid in full.

+ 0 moreCraig the foreman from Affordable Remodeling came to our house to inspect and provide a free price quote for replacing water damaged flooring (Guest Bath and small hallway) plus installing a new commode in the guest Bath...upon agreement with price the work commenced a week later..that was fine as we needed to shop for a new commode the weekend approaching....The work began on schedule and was wrapped up within 1 days time!!....Since we had a small budget allowance for this work, we decided to install our own linoleum flooring; completed this past week (03/13-14/2014). That's when we discovered how poorly repaired the floor was...numerous uneven places which took 2 or more layers of floor tile to "even up" with existing floor!!!.....Areas in the small hallway where the new subfloor met the existing floor were the same..an uneven mess!! And that new commode installed in the Guest Bath is NOT level at all..you can clearly see it's leaning to one side :-(

+ -1 moreHe started off slow and didn't report when he was schedule. Couldn't get in touch with him and didn't return once he was finish. Part of the front of the house was not wash and was brought to his attention but it was not corrected. If he had come back and completed the job things would be different.
Description of Work: Washed bricks siding on house. Power washed fence, out side light fixtures and deck.

+ -1 moreThe crew that they had working did do a good job. I really can't fault the work that was done because the work came out very nice, I just didn't like dealing with the top level. The owner and the guy that was in charge their attitude was crappy, the price was high. I forgot couple of things that we got to put on the contract even though we had said all trim and all the doors and they want to charge us more because we didn't actually put it on the contract even though we had said all this when they came down. They were try to make one dime even though they were charging really good price to begin with.
Description of Work: I used Affordable Remodeling and Repairs about a month ago.

Description of Work: After trying to get Lowe's to come out to do an estimate and them never showing, I decided to look for someone on my own. Kelly [the owner] was very quick to call me back. She came out within a few business days with TONS of samples and to do an estimate [which they do not charge for]. She was very honest about what it would cost, what would be needed to be done [for example, having quarter rounds put in on top, that molding around the fireplace would add character and make it look better]. It was my first time doing anything like this and she gave me her honest opinion. Within a day, the wood/laminate was dropped off at my home to acclimate and they were here only 2 days later to install. When another job ran them late, they stayed late and showed up early to ensure my home would be finished in time. The workers did an excellent job and were definitely about taking their time and doing it right. They were very friendly and I felt very comfortable with them here in the house. While the floors and installation were a little pricy, the service was well worth the money and I would do it all over again. I will be hiring them for future home improvement projects as well. MY FLOORS LOOK AMAZING! and I'm thankful that kelly talked me into the piano finish wood instead of what I was wanting to go with. While they did cost more for the flooring I got, it looks so much better than it would have. I am so happy with this company and their workers!
