The dishwasher was under warranty. Quitman Appliance is a locally owned authorized dealer recommended to us by the manufacturer. The owner and service person, Danny, came out after several days of calling him. He diagnosed the dishwasher as having a bad wash motor. It would need to be replaced and he didn't have an extra motor with him. He was surly and impatient when he realized that he would have to return to our house a second time as we live several miles outside of town. Danny said he would order the part and be back in touch. We spent the next 3 weeks trying to get him to come back out. During that time he kept telling us that the part was back ordered. Finally I called the manufacturer and explained my predicament. The company sent me a wash motor to my house free of charge next day air and asked me to call the repair person and reschedule the repair. I called Danny and explained that I had the part at my house. He said he would be there the next morning. The next morning he had his secretary/wife call me and tell me that the would not be repairing my dishwasher b/c it was not worth his time to drive back out. I called his cell and spoke with him personally He said that b/c the manufacturer would not negotiate on mileage costs that it was not worth it to him to fix the dishwasher. He said he would only be making $55 dollars on two trips and we live 12 miles outside of town. He told me I could call someone else to repair it and that he didn't care that we had been without our dishwasher for almost one month waiting on him to make a repair that he never had any intention of completing. To make things worse, I have since had trouble getting anyone else to come look at the dishwasher b/c although it is under warranty a service call had already been established by Quitman Appliance. 6 weeks after first calling Quitman Appliance I am still without a dishwasher and have been left holding the bag. The manufacturer of the dishwasher is currently working with me on finding another repair person. NEVER use Quitman Appliance.
