Contractor was off site most of the time. He was very good about answering his phone anytime you called him with concerns though. We knew due to our experience that there was some rotting wood that needed replacing. I wondered how his crew could tell if there was rotting wood underneath the old shingles because the workers failed to take off the old felt. Also, they had bought a few rolls of roofing felt that they had no intention of putting up. I questioned this, and only afterwards did he tell his men to put new felt on the whole roof. He told me that in most places they didn't put down that black paper at all which did not make any sense as every roofer I've seen puts new felt down. Also, we had a leak on one part of the roof and I had to pester him and his men to take up new shingles to put the black paper down in that area. It was toward the end where I went up into the attic and noticed on the other side of the fireplace a board was split and was hanging down. I asked him to come up and see it. He pushed it back up and said it was not a big deal. There was rotten wood and a board that was toeing down that I asked before if we should replace, and he said no. That was the area near the place we had a leak which led us to have the roof replaced and was the whole reason we were getting the roof replaced from the start!! It boggled my mind how he could disregard the section that needed the most attention. A couple weeks after the job was completed and paid for, I went up into the attic and just checked around while it was pouring outside. Sure enough, around the chimney where I had asked him if we should replace some rotted wood was dripping with water. So we gave him a call, and he was extremely diligent about fixing it. The very next day his crew came out here, and replaced the wood (that should have been replaced from the beginning), and siliconed around the fireplace. They said that it was not the wood, even though clearly it was dripping down the wood in my video, that it was the fireplace bricks. Then the workers applied new shingles and felt and patched up the area again. We are waiting for a hard rain to get up in the attic and (with fingers crossed) make sure the roof is nice and dry. Jordan is a very agreeable man, and he WILL work with you. I would just keep my eye out and watch what is going on to make sure you can correct something before it happens. He is amazing at getting back with you if anything is going on after putting on the roof. This man does have integrity with his workmanship, I am not sure that the men working for him does.
Description of Work: The roofers replaced our single pane roof shingles with 30 year architectural shingles. A ridgeline vent was also installed and a section of damaged wood was replaced. Additionally, some facia board was replaced w/ PVC boards in order to prevent future wood rot.
