The absolute WORST. slow response would be a compliment. They screwed up EVERY phase of this job. Did not run a manual J load, system spec'd by them was oversized. undersized return intakes by 30%. Vents left to be in wall behind cabinets, when they said they would have them extended out. The company that repaired it said even that was wrong as it would have double right angles and restricted air, they ran a new floor vent on the other side of the room. Gas line to furnace was loose by a full turn (yes I stood there and watched as the repairs were made by a legitimate and respected company), the whole arm to the furnace was just swinging it was so loose and makes its ability to hold a seal on the gas flow questionable. Anglin must have never learned to read a gas flow chart, they just tied a bunch of half inch lines off a three quarter inch existing line which would push way less BTU than required by the appliances. In other words, the stove would not function, the flame in the fireplace literally would not reach the bottom of the gas logs, and you would be in for a long wait between showers with the limited gas flow to the hot water heater. . Told me on four occasions that you couldn't run gas lines through a wall, that it was "against code", that was because they didn't want to drill through the fireplace brick I assume as they later said it would be so "labor intensive" to do so and instead went through the wall and hung an incredibly ugly stack of pipes on the outside of my house....all unnecessary. Checked with the county and they said that wasn't so, you can run pipe through walls, it isn't against code. Even then their pipe to the fireplace landed inside where the firebrick would be, leaving it too short to work, the end of the pipe hugged the exterior brick lining, about eight inches short of where it needed to be. Gas line to the stove was twenty five feet out and they ran it up snug to the wall so the shutoff connection to the stove couldn't be attached, looks like that was where their set size big box pipes landed so that's where they stopped it, never mind that it wasn't functional. The company that repaired it took less than a minute to bore through the brick for the fireplace. They cut and threaded all pipes properly to do it right...I have the whole thing videoed. Obviously all of Anglin's pipe was set sizes from a big box store, they neither cut nor threaded pipe to correct size and instead butchered the job to fit their pipes rather than make their pipes fit the house. The company brought in to do the repairs, JR Bolton, had to rip out all the shoddy work Anglin did and put it in right. they cut and threaded the correct sized pipes in the correct lengths to make the job work properly, efficiently, and most importantly, safely. One floor vent upstairs had screws in the metal to hold it but, there was no wood behind it to screw in, they just propped it up, that vent and its air line fell into the basement right after they left. Air zoned to go downstairs was sent to upstairs vents, wiring for thermostats wasn't changed to accommodate todays thermostats so simple functions like running just the fan or recirculate wouldn't work, the old line is one wire short of functionability for todays thermostats. Funny, he wired the downstairs for it but left the existing wire and the upstairs thermostat crippled and it couldn't be an accident as he wired both sets, side by side in the zoning box, right in front of his face. You don't have enough space here for me to list all the things they did wrong and their completely unprofessional attitude throughout this process. Tried to lien my house for payment on work not done, done wrong, and at a price and terms not agreed on, that was thrown out and you can bet this one will end in court. Stay tuned, the formal complaints headed to the State Licensing Board, State Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, and Rheem in the works, complete with photos, video, schematics and copies of repair bills and statements from experts. I'll repeat, this is just the short list of the most shoddy work I've ever seen and, I've been in or a consultant to the construction industry for thirty five years. T H E W O R S T. Countless calls ignored. I was even told by them that one time I called complaining and they just set the phone on the counter and walked away, now there's a pro. I can't wait for them to respond, I'm sure it will be the same, lets call it "less than accurate" babble. they basically abandoned the job when I wouldn't pay for work not done or not corrected. They did not pass inspection and i had to have Dekalb County drop them from the permit and JR Bolton put on to complete the job. You want your job done right by a highly respected firm, on all the gas suppliers short list of recommended companies? A company with three generations of outstanding service in Georgia? call J R Bolton, they did an outstanding job repairing a total mess. I do video work and have a record of how it is done right, and plenty to counter any excuses Anglin Air may try to pass of on you.
