Atlantic Waste Services Inc

After nearly 20 years of doing business with Waste Management, I switched to Atlantic Waste because they offered recycling. I paid 2/3 more just to do business with a company that was forward thinking enough to offer recycling. They were supposed to come out yesterday and never did. I called again today and was told they would send someone to collect the recycling. I'm disappointed and infuriated to report that the garbage truck showed up and loaded all my recycling in with the regular trash. When I confronted the garbage man, he said he was told to just collect everything. I then called to complain and was told that Curbie came out yesterday and said my items were deemed "contaminated" because I had separated the plastic in a separate bag. The problem is, Curbie never came by my house yesterday. If Curbie had truly come out and deemed my items to be "contaminated", the woman would certainly have told me that this morning when I called. Instead, she told me my recycling would be picked up. Also, I was never offered a recycling guide like they claim to have. Atlantic took the easy way out by just dumping the items in with the garbage. I guess the take away is that you need to follow up to make sure your items are truly being recycled.

The original call was one where they shared that they were the best in Savannah. Their pricing was competitive and they delivered the dumpster container within 24 hours. Just before Labor Day we were full and called them and they assured us that they would pick up the container the day after Labor Day September 3rd. We waited all day and called them and they said they were not able to come out that day but would be there on Wednesday. The same thing happened the next day and the next day. Finally Friday they assured us they would be there on Monday one week later then agreed upon. Each and every one of these previous days I and my builder called and talk to them. They each day assured us they were on the way. Well Monday at 4:33 PM we had not heard from them and I called them. They shared that they were not able to come out till Tuesday. I assured them that I was no longer doing business with them and have switched to a local company Green Acres. We were lied to and really set some of our work behind since we were not able to proved the clean up that we needed due to Atlantic Waste being non professional.
