The quality is great and it took them about a day and a half. With any concerns that I had, they handled those quickly. They also had a very reasonable price too.
Description of Work: They replaced a brand new back deck.

I should have know as soon as they started the siding. Both Butch Maxey and his painter were trying to talk me into completely removing the 15 year old established shrubs around my home. and quot;we could just chain to them and pull them out by the rootand quot;.I was told it would make their job easier. I denied them to remove the shrubbery. 1) When they removed the old siding, they damaged the vertical boards next to my garage and a few or the corners. I pointed these damaged boards and asked for them to be replaced. 2) They installed new siding that was damaged during installation. These damaged pieces were painted also. 3) While removing the power and A/C boxes from the old siding, they pried them off with a crowbar. The mounting screws inside the boxes fell down into the contact and shorted out the A/C unit. 4) They left all kinds of scraps and nails in the yard and around the house. One of the nails I stepped on while trying to clean up some of the mess. 5) They destroyed a section of the gutters and had to be asked to repair it. 6) Two of the trim pieces on the chimney were installed broken and split. The pieces were painted and I had to request for new boards to be put up. The new boards were installed and painted but they were not installed to be covered by the chimney cap. I had to ask for that to be repaired. 7) The window they installed had a gap of 1 3/4 inch between the brick and the window.Butch told me they would have to caulk that gap. I installed brick molding myself to cover the gap. The windows on the rest of the house were only caulked where you could see. The bottoms were not caulked at all. The painting were finished so I knew they had no intentions finishing the caulking. UPDATE----------------------------------July 2012--------------14 months after installation ----------------------------------- We had rain yesterday,,,, my wife heard water and quot;splatteringand quot; and went to locate the noise. There was water flowing in the front window that Maxey Homes installed in our home. I got the ladder out this morning to see where the water was entering the window. The window Maxey Homes installed has 3 cracks in the frame.......not wood separation,,actual cracks in the frame. I thought this was odd since I had ordered PVC framed windows to match what I had installed in the lower part of our home. Upon further investigation,, I saw that the frame on this window is in fact and quot;particle woodand quot;. No PVC as I was told it was.. it's the same crap that IKEA furniture is made from. The bottom plate of the entire 8 foot wide window is cracking. I will surely have to replace it within the next few months before winter rains. As I explain in other parts of this review,, this man preaches the Bible and how men should treat each other,,he doesn't practice what he preaches and will take you for anything he can,, just as other fly by night contractors will. I will keep spreading the word as his business practices are wrong and folks need to be warned of contractors like MAXEY HOMES. 8) They left electrical outlet boxes hanging by the wire. 9) When they removed some of my decking, they caused a natural gas line to leak. Butch told me the leak had been there even though I had never smelled gas till that day. They broke some of the deck screws off in the board that cannot be removed. The decking material is no longer available so I'm stuck with that problem. 10)He had requested the final payment check a week before the job was completed and I denied it until he was finished. I explained to Butch about the time and materials I had used doing repairs his crew had left unfinished. He said I was overly excited about those items. He assured me that the jobs would had been completed, I don't think so. 11) I was asked to submit a and quot;punch out listand quot; when they thought they were finished. I furnished the list and they spent an entire day and quot;repairingand quot; those items. I was asked to inspect the repairs. There was still places left unpainted and marks from ladders on the house. Butch was so infatuated with getting his final check,, I was tired of all the crap I had gone through with him, I gave him a check for the balance , less time for my materials and time for repairing things they left and quot;undoneand quot;. 12) A-There are still places on my home that are not painted. B-There are spots on the gutters (around the gutter nails) that didn't get paint. C-There is siding on my home that has scratch marks on it. D-There are ladder marks on my composite decking E-There are still screws broken off in the decking F-There are windows they didn't scrape off the paint from the glass G-They washed their brushes in the same spot every day, now they grass is dead in that area. H- I was told they used and quot;specialand quot; pain on my PVC windows. I checked with the paint store, what they used was siding paint, for wood and composite siding. The man tells me that paint will likely be blistering and peeling I- Windows ordered were suppose to be PVC-- they are in-fact and quot;particle woodand quot; and are breaking and splitting (see above description) I'm sure I could go further but the picture should be painted for those who might be considering the company for any repairs on your home. This man will preach to you about the Bible and scripture but doesn't practice what he preaches. I truly believe that Butch doesn't have the knowledge needed to know when a job is finished correctly. The crew he used didn't understand English so I couldn't get them to understand what I meant. UPDATE Jan 2014 A new development in the repairs this crew did. We had gas logs in our fireplace since we moved in. Hardly ever used them because I thought it was just money going up the flue with those gas logs. This year I purchased a wood burning insert for the fireplace. The first time we used it, we couldn't stand the smell. The fumes were coming into the room. I had a repair man come in to make sure I had installed it correctly. He inspected the flue to make sure it was clear. He informed me the flue pipe was not connected at the top. The last section at the top was completely separated from the flue pipe. When Maxey homes replaced the siding on the chimney, the top cap was re-installed with one corner that didn't match up. I asked Butch to have his people correct it. They removed the cap and re-installed it. They had separated the flue pipes and never put them back together. The problem we experience with our wood stove was our chimney box filling up with smoke and leeching it back into our home. Needless to say this could had killed us,, I'm just glad we had this other man come out to check it out. Seems like Maxey Homes never checks the work they do,,, even if it means something as dangerous as a fireplace.
Description of Work: This job consisted of removing lap siding, replacing one large window and replacing the corness. Painting the siding and windows. Hauling off the debris.
