This is a horrible company that takes advantage of clients. We hired Ron and his team to build a TREX deck for our home. He wrote the contract and took the payment in March and two weeks went by with no communication. After several attempts to reach him, he assured us he would begin the work on the following week due to weather. Two weeks came and went with no communication again and several attempts to reach him. Finally, after a late night call was answered out of frustration he stated the team would be there on Monday. Of course they were a no show and he later. offered a refund. We gave him two weeks AGAIN to refund the deposit of 5600 and we are in June and no refund has been received nor any communication. We have since reported a fraudulent case to our financial institution.

Ron Bell came on Jan. 6 and removed the old deck (not the frame). After that they failed to return. After numerous promises to complete the deck he finally provided what he claimed was an "invoice" for decking material. Turned out it was only an estimate and there material was never ordered. This occurred Mar. 22 and the estimate was written Mar. 15! He never ordered the material and we are currently finding another company to finish our deck. We have been living with NO DECK, only a frame for TWELVE WEEKS! It is a very dangerous situation as it is a second floor deck with exposed under decking and some electrical. I will be filing a law suit for the return of my 30% deposit.

A representative from BYS came to my house; looked at the layout of the deck and gave me a ball park figure off 800-1000 dollars. He was supposed to come back on 9-15 with a final price and plans for the install. When I hadn't heard from him by that evening; I called and was told he had forgotten the plans and estimate. He said he would be by later and would leave them in the mail box. Over the next week I heard how busy he was and how he was going to bring price and plans by later. Eventually; all I got was an answering machine with no contact from the gentleman. On 9-22-2015 I left a message to forget the job and started looking for another contractor. I don't know if BYS was unwilling or unable to do the work; but they stopped trying to get back with me on 9-17-2015. I wouldn't recommend BYS to anyone who needs work estimated and started on time.

I had left several voicemails for this company. They advertise frequently in a booklet I receive in the mail. I also sent them messages through their website. Never get a call or email returned. I tried calling one more time and got their voicemail again, so fed up, I left a message they should not advertise if you are not going to return people's phone calls. A guy calls me back and proceeds to tell me he Sales Person is at Disney and no one to return phone calls. I told him, "how rediculous! You yourself should check your messages." I hang up. He then starts texting me. He then told me, "Everyone needs a vacation with their kids." Like I care! You are running a business. When we go on vacation, my husband still checks his messages! I tell him to forget it but I do leave feedback on Angie's list. Here are his exact words. "If you think it's right to try to ruin my business and hurt my family with Angie's list go ahead. I apologize really like to come out and talk to you and make this better. Thank you. Ron." He then tells me he has done work for two of my neighbors. He asks if he can come around 3:30. I agree. He arrives looks at my porch. Tells me he will get with us the following Thursday. He didn't call that week but left a message the following week. I called back and got voicemail so hung up and emailed him on at the email address on his card. Never heard back. I emailed again. Never heard back. So, I'll text him because he likes to text. It shows he read my message on August 12 asking for the quote but once again he never responded. Maybe I'm cursed, I don't know but people like this waste my time on a weekly basis. So unprofessional. Even if he were to call me now, how in the world could you trust a person who acts like this...Again, I suppose they are so blessed with work, they don't need my money. It's wonderful you did work for my neighbors. Not sure why you ditched me and took up my time for nothing. Not trying to ruin your business or family. It's just the God's honest truth, sir.

Very good experience. Good quality work. Crew was prompt and price was reasonable.

Due to the good previous reviews here, I had originally contacted them for an estimate about demolishing an existing back deck and then building a new back deck and pergola. Owner's wife was courteous in explaining their work and did offer that they were extremely busy at this time. She explained that they normally had all the work they could handle in the Fayetteville area, where they are based. However, she scheduled an appointment to meet the owner, Ron Bell, for an estimate at our location in McDonough the following week. He never showed and never bothered to phone and cancel. On the subsequent phone call to her, she apologized and said she would call back to re-schedule an appointment. I also took the trouble at that time to email them my preliminary deck plan and location photos so that Ron could more easily evaluate the work. Again, after 2 more phone calls to them over 2 weeks, I NEVER received a response or a return phone call about obtaining an estimate. If the owner knew that his work schedule was too full to accommodate the work at our location or thought that our job didn't fit his company, he should have said so up front. At the least, they could have phoned back to inform me that they didn't want the job or asked about scheduling it at a later date. All in all, A VERY unprofessional and time-wasting experience.

The two-man crew was extremely professional, and dedicated to the task. While weather interrupted the process, generally it went very well and was totally accomplished (except weather related delays in staining) in less than two weeks. The new deck is stained/painted to match our house, and is beautiful (and large). We have already had compliments from our neighbors. Ron Bell's team is very experienced and builds a deck with no details overlooked. Other than a couple of days early in the process when we were expecting them to show up, and they didn't, we couldn't be happier with the results.

We are not ready to build quite yet, but when we are, we know who to call!

Ron was very good at helping us to design a closed-in/screened porch, rework our deck and design our paver patio. The workmenship was very good and the couple of small issues we had were quickly corrected. We love our new outdoor space and would recommend Backyard Structures without hesitation.

Crewman Robbie outstanding with his all out effort for the two days labor. Robbie's work ethic and professionalism very apparent throughout the project. Ron Bell(proprietor) was on site for estimate through finished project. We couldn't be more pleased with the result. Finished cleanup was excellent. All that was needed as they left the site was a swim suit and towel.

BackYard Structures is a great company and our new front porch was a wonderful experience. From the beginning I was a problem because I was unsure of what I wanted. This required Steve Campbell, the owner, to make two trips and two sets of drawings. He did so without pressuring me for the job or for a decision on the design. Both my husband and I were impressed immediately with Mr. Campbell. We sensed that he is hard working, honest and willing to give us our money's worth. He came through with a new design that he had never built before and it is absolutely beautiful. We met several of the work crew late one evening and were just as impressed at their professionalism and friendliness. I asked several questions and they did not mind a bit. (I was not questioning their knowledge but want to learn.) Our porch was done so fast and efficiently; we were amazed. Both my husband and I are so happy with the construction and all of the extra detail work that was done without us asking. The front porch is better than we imagined and we are elated at the curb appeal it adds to our home. We are happy to recommend BackYard Structures to everyone and plan to use this company again in the future.
