 + -1 moreCrew of 2 employees worked non-stop, never even saw them take a break, for 1.5 days. Completed the work perfectly, maintained a clean work site, employees were professionally dressed, non-threatening and easy with which to deal. Considering the amount of work required I was expecting a little variation in the invoice but wasn't even a dollar off the estimate. Great job!
Description of Work: Spencer Heating and Air was the low bidder on replacement of 25 year old HVAC system with 3 ton compressor, evaporator, gas heater, relocation of thermostat, repair of basement ducts, and replacement of attic ducts with an addition of central filter and humidifier.

 + -1 moreAfter moving to Atlanta two years ago, I picked Spencer Heating & Air Conditioning from the yellow pages to do some work recommended by the home inspector (redo some duct work and insulation in the crawl space). I now have an annual maintenance contract with them and I've been very pleased with their service overall. Their office calls when the technician is leaving, they always come when they said they would come and their technicians have always been professional and courteous. In addition, their prices have always seemed reasonable.
Description of Work: I have the annual maintenance contract with Spencer Heating & Air (so the listed fee also includes the furnace inspection). This was my annual air conditioning check and filter change. Luckily everything was working properly and no additional work was necessary.

 + -1 moreGarrett showed up on time and did a good job of explaining why my A/C was having a problem. I gave the pricing a C grade because it seems high to me. However, it may be in line with industry standards. I was very satisfied with the service.
Description of Work: My A/C was not keeping my house cool enough. Garrett did an inspection on the inside unit and on the outside unit. He found the coil was very dirty and needed a chemical cleaning. He cleaned the coil and determined that the coil was able to dissipate heat more efficiently.

 + -1 moreThe sales rep, the service coordinators, and the technician were all courteous, friendly and professional. They answered all my questions. John was on time and performed competently. The price was reasonable. Good work! I will certainly call them whenever it's time to replace the system.
Description of Work: My A/C was blowing warm air, and they made a service call. John replaced the air filter, then diagnosed a problem at thermostat, and jumped the connection to enable further testing. He then checked the compressor's freon and temp levels, diagnosed a faulty wire at compressor, and replaced the wire. He rechecked his readings. They tested OK. Then, he replaced the thermostat (with a new unit I had on hand), and the A/C worked properly again. He then checked the furnace's heat exchanger at my request.

 + -1 moreMARK (THE REPRESENTATIVE) HAD AN ATTITUDE WHEN HE SHOWED UP, BUT WARMED UP TOWARDS THE END. THE LABOR CHARGE ($114) SEEMED A BIT EXCESSIVE FOR THE WORK PERFORMED. $53 FOR 2 LBS. FREON. HE DID PERFORM AN NICE WRITE-UP AND DID OFFER SOME GOOD TIPS (BLOWING OUT THE DRAIN LINE). I'M NOT SURE WHETHER I WOULD HIRE AGAIN.
Description of Work: EVALUATED WHY GOODMAN AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT COOLING. WHAT WAS FOUND: DRAIN LINE WAS CLOGGED AND FREON WAS LOW. ADDED 2 LBS OF FREON TO SYSTEM, AND INFORMED ME THAT A LEAK WAS IN SYSTEM WHICH WOULD HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AT SOME POINT. FREON LEAK SEARCH WOULD COST $125. IF IT WAS A COIL THAT WAS LEAKING, IT WOULD COST $900, IF NOT UNDER WARRANTY. LABOR TO REPLACE COIL WOULD BE $300.
