Gilbert, the technician, diagnosed and fixed the problem after showing me the bad part. He was professional and thorough explaining the process and left the area cleaner than when he got here. He was on time!

We were very pleased with the professionalism of the technician. He gave us very detailed info about our system and when he discovered that our humidifier wasn't working, he offered two different solutions to fix it, thoroughly explaining the pros and cons of each. I was impressed that the approach he recommended was actually the CHEAPER of the two solutions. He also made notes for the spring inspection, because of a situation he noticed while inspecting the heating.

After noticing the heater cycling on and then shutting itself off, I called early Monday morning to get a technician to check it. The ladies who handled the phones were very nice. They said a tech would be available the same afternoon. I got the call after 3:00 that the tech was on his way. He found a hose that was chewed through and replaced the hose. After verifying that everything else was working well he also pointed out a part that he said was cracked and taped over from someone else's repair. He said it was working fine now, but may cause the same problem down the road. He looked up the part number for us and quoted us a price of $75 to come back within 30 days to replace that part too. David was very courteous and nice. I will certainly recommend this company to others.

It was very difficult for him because the part he had brought was a lemon, so he had to get another part to fix it. But he did get it fixed and was very patient about the whole ordeal. The company is well known in the community and is very reputable. They have been in business for a long time and provide well trained service men.

I was so impressed with their work, I signed up for a service contract with them. When I wanted an explanation about the repair work, the owner called me himself to do that. I like that the service is prompt and they call me before they come to my house.

I had an AC system that had frozen up. They were able to respond the same afternoon. Service tech was knowledgeable and professional. He ended up taking a part and cleaning the Alpineair electrostatic filter (a stand-alone unit) on both the upstairs and downstairs units. The price included working on and cleaning both electrostatic filters, replacing the filer media in one, and adding a pound of freon. Price was fair considering the work done, and within 3 hrs of my initial call to them all the work was complete.

Our upstairs air conditioner was blowing air that was not as cold as it had been. After replacing the filter on my own (and noting that it was not dirty), I called to ask Spencer to ask about setting a service appointment. I don t remember if it was Darlene, Robin, or Stephanie that set the appointment, but they were appropriately sympathetic with our less-than-optimal cooling, especially with the hot weather we've been having. I was surprised that they were able to set an appointment for the following day, and pleased to learn that they would call me 30 minutes before the service rep was scheduled to arrive so that the appointment would not conflict with a meeting on my calendar. Bobby, the service rep, was personable, professional, and efficient. He took the time to answer my (many) questions about our system, and carefully verified the functionality of our thermostat and the attic blower unit before going out to check the outside unit. He went through several diagnostic steps to determine that we needed a Freon recharge. As the A/C was charging, I asked Bobby about maintenance that I could perform to extend the life of our system, and he was very forthcoming with details about my request. After he took care of that service, he wrote up our bill. When I mentioned that Angie s List members were supposed to get a $15 discount, he noted that on the invoice and subtracted the discount. Based on Bobby s performance, Spencer office staff support, and the service received, I will call Spencer the next time we need HVAC service. Bobby gave me a magnet with their number. I put it on our furnace. Bonus points Bobby was very friendly with our 9-month-old Maltese puppy.

Mr. Spencer came out and performed just what was required and did not try to add any extras or unnecessary items. He repaired my problem quickly and for a very reasonable price.

Furnaces needed to be serviced, and service technician Gilbert was very thorough. He dismantled the burners and cleaned the whole apparatus and the baffles in the plenum above. Furnace which had been back-belching flames into the control box now vents properly, thank God. Also cleaned downstairs furnace as well which was less dirty but needed checking as well. Scheduling dispatcher gave me a 4 hr window and they came less than an hr. into it which was a refreshing change.

House felt like it wasn't cooling down, so I wanted the unit inspected for a possible freon leak and just a general overall inspection. Took a little warming up to the service man, but soon he started telling me what he was doing and checking. Overall, the experience was about a B. The down side was I was quoted $79 for the inspection, but because he was there 15 extra minutes, I was charged by surprise another $20. He said the person who took the phone call should have informed me. He recommended a new digital thermostat and provided a diagram on how to manual install myself. Bottom line was due to extreme heat this summer, heat was retaining and was instructed to lower thermostat. Recommended new curved cooling vents for bedroom to draw cool air up rather than across the floor. To purchase, the customer needs to go the place of business. May or may not do business with them again.

As far as heating and A/C work goes, I have been very happy with this company. I have been happy enough to recommend them to others and to continue using them myself. They are very professional in demeanor and I like them very much.

They came when they were supposed to and there were no surprises during the whole process. They seemed to be good at getting back to me whenever I called. They were very good at getting in and out quickly.

Spencer's Heating is always quick to suggest a time to come and clean and check everything out. They have taken care of my unit for several years and I am very happy with their service thus far.

We have had them for a lot of years and they are always outstanding. They are honest and hardworking. They answer all of your questions and are done with the work quickly. I would recommend them to other people because they have reasonable prices and they are honest.

Of all companies quoting, Spencer was only company who estimated the job to require more than one day to complete. 2-6 people worked constantly for 2 days to complete the job. Special features: 1) ran exhaust PVC pipe up existing masonry chimney, 2) ran line set underground around crawlspace door to condensor unit. Agreement to do work was completed one day after a manufacturer offer of a free filter unit expired. Spencer coordinated with the manufacturer to get the Healthy Climate 16 at a reduced rate. Six months later, the electric motor in the condensor unit failed. Spencer answered a Sunday service call, diagnosed the problem, had a replacement motor delivered (not a stock item), and installed the motor the next day (Monday). Spencer proved to be polite, helpful in determining the best way to address special installation requirements, responsive, and honest.

My A/C was blowing warm air and after consulting Angie's List and Kudzu, I called Spencer Heating & Air. They came later that same day and performed the work listed above. My A/C unit was overdue on some general maintenance and now things are working better than before. I was so pleased that I ended up purchasing an annual service contract with Spencer.

Although this company is listed as servicing Gwinnett County, my home (16 miles away and in Gwinnett County) is outside their service area. They were kind enough to refer me to a business in our area in whom they had a great deal of professional confidence.

We called on a Thursday and they said they could not do it until Tuesday. We said okay, since the weekend was supposed to be fairly cool. The weekend was not as cool as we had hoped, but on MONDAY the Spencer representative called and said they could come out then if we wanted and we did. He was prompt, polite, clean and helpful. When we replace our units we will have Spencer do it!

We were given estimates for several different installations, but the one we would have preferred included a 2-stage, variable speed 88K 80% efficient furnace (Lennox UHV-36B-909) and a 2-ton 14-seer air conditioner (Lennox XC13-024) with matching coil. We were a little concerned whether a 2-ton unit was adequate, since our old unit was 3-ton. We thought that both the technician and sales rep were honest and knowledgeable and would have chosen this contractor except that we wanted a furnace brand other than Lennox. Consumer Reports had in the past found that Lennox furnaces were less reliable than some other brands.

They came when they said they would, the work was done the way they proposed, and for the price they quoted. What more can you ask for? They were wonderful!

This company is great! I highly recommend them. They were very professional from the quotation process to installation, and at no time did I think they were taking advantage of me. Their pricing was in line with other quotes that we received. We had a minor system problem (not their fault) that appeared a month after installation. The vents were 'whistling', and fixing it required adding vents so they furnace could take in more air. Spencer came back and fixed it at no charge. This level of service and commitment to the customer is superior and worth the money.

They've been out to my house four times since October, but I'm still satisfied with their work! On the initial call, my fan was working but only blowing out cold air. A faulty limit was replaced and everything was OK for about two weeks until the unit blew out cold air again. They came back and saw that a there was probably an intermittent problem with a control board that caused the problem to begin with; they refunded the cost of the limit and replaced the control board. Two days later the fan stopped working altogether. Another service person came out and saw that some wires had been pinched that blew a fuse. The fuse was replaced and all was fine until December. The fan stopped working again. Again wire had been pinched (or something like that) and the fuse was blown. They replaced the fuse and I now have heat again. The technician even closed my damper for me to help with heating the downstairs area since I couldn't figure out which position was open or close!

Very well. The service tech was knowledgable, professional.

Inspector came over and was very courteous, suggested a smaller system than I had planned for, as would be more appropriate to my house size and fact that I have lots of trees in front/back yard that keeps sun off roof much of time. System is working fabulously and I saved about $1,000 from another company that quoted. Spencer insisted on me not paying until I was sure the system would work, which I find astounding in this day and age! Would recommend highly next time.
