MTZ Roofing I hardly post on here - but wanted to warn people about a roofing company -MTZ Roofing that has been doing some work in the Forsyth and Gwinnett area. I had a few neighbors that had them replace their roof, and looked fine. So - I had him look at my roof and he said it was damaged in the same places and quantity as the others. He said I will file with the insurance for you, and you don’t have to do a thing. All I ask is that you sign this contingency he said. It stipulates, once it is approved at full replacement, we MTZ have the sole rights to replace the roof - else it would be a $1500 or 30% of the approved valuation to break the contract. The roof was approved for full replacement, and I asked Ali - the rep for the estimate that he had so that I could match it up to the amount allocated and make sure it was the same generally as the neighbors that were done. When I got the estimate, it was $2,300 (15%) more than a neighbor who has the exact same identical cookie cutter home. When pushed - he said your roof is larger than his and requires more material. This is absolutely false. It is to the inch the same house. His tactic is to use the insurance approved amount as much as he can without regard for ethical or equal quoting. This was also restated and confirmed as being their way of doing business by the Supervisor Brayan for the company continuing to explain “some cost us more and some cost us less so it balances us out”. He then says that he has to send a summary to the insurance company so that they will ask for reimbursement of any unused amount. This is also a fallacy. That is not required for at least the 3 roofs I have had replaced in the past and I verified with my current company and found the same. They are doing business in Gwinnett County, Forsyth County, Fulton County and other neighboring areas.
