I cannot in good faith recommend Marmi. While in the end, the finished product was well done, the process was completely unprofessional and frustrating. Perhaps the commercial stone business is so good that they simple don't need the average homeowner. It sure came off that way on our project. We contracted Marmi to put in a floor to ceiling fireplace surround. While they were quick to send us contracts and get our deposit, we felt pretty completely ignored after that. I had to repeatedly contact them to get updates on the status of the project and to push them on completion dates. At times I was simply ignored, or at best told that they would get back to me with the answers to the questions I had. But most times it took more follow up calls, emails and texts before I got any answers. At one point we walked in and threatened to cancel the whole project if we didn't get better communication. From start to finish, it took three months (minus a three week period when we were out of town) to get the project finished. I felt that the hassle was simply not worth in the end. There are plenty of other stone companies in the area that would be happy to have your business, and treat you like a valued customer. Something Marmi evidently isn't capable of doing. I recommend that you look elsewhere.

After we chose the granite slab at Marmi and worked with the owner, Magid, an paid our deposit, where our sales associate assured us our slab could not be sold out from under us, we arrived to arrange the cut -out templates on the slab over the brilliant blue areas of the Laboradorite Extra. Only the slab they brought out was not the one we had reserved even thought . We had taken photos (which we highly recommend). When we confronted the sales associate he played dumb and disappeared for 20 minutes to return and tell us our slab had disappeared. This was one week before we were calling for Certificate of Occupancy which required our slab arrive. We were told there were no other granite slabs in our color. The owner urged us to choose a different style, despite the fact that we arranged our color theme around the brilliant blue in this slab. Upon arrival of slabs of Multi color, we returned and laid the templates over two separate slabs to try and capture as much blue as possible,, but the owner wanted to charge us additional fora less expensive granite and wouldn't own what his team had done (presumably he was a part of it or ashamed adn covering for them) The owner was dismissive, argumentative and rude. We sent out a letter to all the custom builders we work with with a narrative of our experience. Several of them responded saying they no longer do business with this group any longer anyway due to overpricing, poor customer service and dishonesty. Our experience was costly and disheartening. We chose not to pursue legally and focus energy and money on resolution, but we don't want anyone else to experience this at the hand of Marmi Stone & Granite.
Description of Work: Ran a scam on us. Took a hefty deposit on a rare and expensive slab of granite, sold it out from under us, claiming to have lost it and tried to present a different as the one we had picked. Only when we confronted them, did the sales associate, who previously assured us "this" was our slab, unaware that we had taken many photos of our slab (which we highly recommend), copped to the crime, admittingly it had been sold to someone else.

They did an excellent work. I thought their product was excellent. The one thing I liked about them is that they had their own subcontractors and had their own in-house staff. They use their own installers. It's not like they are selling the granite and then hire a subcontractor to do the installation. They do all the installation and the cutting and everything. They really know their craft. They were not terribly expensive yet. They are very professional.
