Georgia Energy Savers

We had used another foam insulation company at a previously owned home and were not impressed with their work, so we gave GA Energy Savers a try. When the consultant came out to our house to give us a quote, he seemed unprofessional in my opinion by the way he spoke to us and the way he presented himself. However, he did seem knowledgeable and the price he quoted seemed reasonable for what we were looking for. After my husband and I contacted him to schedule the job, he called me twice leaving me voice messages to please send him a copy of the quote, because he couldn't find it. We didn't have any issues on the day they were scheduled to do the job. They put down plastic to protect our floors and cleaned up afterward. Several days after, the foam separated from rim joists in the basement. I called the owner and had to leave a couple messages (and days) before he had another rep contact me back. The rep came back with a can of open cell foam when he came to inspect the problem. He determined that he did not have the correct supplies with him and he would come back the next day. He called the next day and rescheduled to the following day. Needless to say, this interrupted our schedules as we had to make new arrangements with work. My husband was able to work from home, when the rep came back the last time. Again, he brought with him several cans of foam, however, clearly not enough to fix all of the rim joists. My husband indicated that he brought open cell foam, when the rep should've brought closed cell foam. That evening, my husband said that he should've hovered over the rep like a hawk. After the rep said he was finished and left, my husband viewed the work and the rep only sprayed foam in a quarter of the rim joists that needed patching. My husband was so disgusted with this company he refused to have them back in our house and fix what remains incomplete. We were originally planning to use the same company if the did a good job on the sun room and basement. Since we had a negative experience, again, we are left still searching for a reputable company.

They did a fantastic job. They finished my whole house in three hours. I could feel the difference immediately.

I haven't downgraded for price or quality, but I don't know if they have any local competition for comparison. I don't know if they were competitive or not - I'm going under the assumption that they are. The salesman and the technicians were professional and completed the job promptly. The attic looks good and I've bragged on it to some friends and to several tradesmen who have been to the house for unrelated work. No more. The reason I've downgraded for professionalism is because of the promise of a refund of the first month of a utility bill. This is something that is emphasized in all their advertising, and was not a factor in my decision to use this company. Even though I have communicated by email (on several occasions) and by phone personally with the individual who is the spokesman for the company in some of their radio advertising (initials J.D) and after nearly pleading with him to resolve the issue (we're talking about less than $125) to be able to put it behind us, as of today I still have not received this refund for utilities. My last email to him about this matter was over one week ago, asking him if he could delegate it to someone else, and he hasn't even responded to my email. Every time I point out to him that it hasn't been paid he apologizes profusely, promises to handle it when he gets back in the office in a day or two, but he just doesn't do it.
