The technicians were friendly and efficient. Would have liked a little more explanation on how to use the tv/hopper.

We were very happy with them. They provide excellent customer service which is lasting in many of the other cable providers. They had helped us many times when we had a problem with the television or when we need to reboot it. They come out on a timely basis when it needs some kind of repair. It does go out when the weather isn't good which I was not happy about but we knew it would happen when we went to some kind of a satellite service.
Description of Work: I used the satellite service of Dish Network.

Description of Work: I had originally scheduled installation for 3/30/13. I called back on 3/25/13 to reschedule for 3/29/13. Dish Network has a record of my reschedule call but the representative did not process properly. I contacted Dish today to find out what time they would be here. They said that my appointment was not rescheduled and they could not send anyone out today since they were now booked. Half a day wasted because they did not process correctly nor honor the rescheduled installation date. I cancelled entire order because if this is a preview of their service I want nothing to do with it.

Don't rely on a customer service agent to tell you that overnight shipping is not an option. Use your own judgement and be assertive.
Description of Work: My Dish satellite box went out on me the night of the 18th. So , I called dish network and spoke to a customer service representative. They told me that it would take 2-3 days for another receiver to get to me by shipping. I had a hissy fit. So, I called Comcast the next day and I was going to have them put in cable. They told me the closest date was almost the same time as it would take for my dish box to get to me. I am disabled and don't get a lot of money from disability. Then I thought about this situation for a little while.......... and when I found out to cancel my contract with dish it was going to cost me $227.50. so I told them to cancel me because I was so upset about this. All of a sudden I thought about the situation and wondered why Dish couldn't ship the receiver to me overnight. The woman I spoke to said this was a possibility. Wonders never cease. lol I was then told it would cost ME $35.00 to have it shipped. I told them that this was less than the $227.50 that I would have to pay to cancel and asked if they would reinstate my contract. The woman told me she would ask her supervisor and it was OK to do so. All this to me was totally a joke. I know that every time it rains, or storms that the dish goes out., but this box going out was not my fault, and I believe that Dish Network should have been responsible for the cost of the shipping( guess the company needs the money more than I do). They know when they have you under contract that there is not much you can do, but in another year when my contract runs out I will surely switch to a Cable company.

I left my cable company to sign up for a special lifetime rate with Dish Network. Their service was terrible- the female technician kept stopping work and using my bathroom. Then they left while the signal was still downloading. I had to call the service to come back. The dish had to be totally reset.(I had to take off work both times to be there) Then Internet and phone would not work. Phone lines had been cut by technician while hooking up TV. The lines were laying across my driveway. I did not have a phone for 3 days while I kept calling (using cell phone minutes) and telling them about the lines laying across my driveway. That was finally taken care and Internet was corrected after numerous calls to inexperienced techs. Finally, pricing was not even close to what they had quoted me online. A service rep told me "I must" have approved a change. Why would I approve a higher cost package for the same services? I was now paying more for Dish than I ever did for my cable service. When I called, I just kept getting the runaround and being transferred from person to person. I finally got disgusted and switched back to the old, reliable cable service that I only left because I would be saving money. When I called to disconnect, the rep told me I would have to pay a disconnect fee of $250. She also told me they would be out to take down the dish. (it's 25 feet high on the side of my house) That's not happened and I just got the $250 bill for the disconnect. I think I shouldn't have to pay that because of such lousy service and the dish is still there.

I wasn t happy with them so I switched services and have no intention of going back to them. I lost signal constantly, and every time the wind blew, I saw Searching for Network.

I DONT DEAL WITH THEM AS MUCH AS MY ROOMMATE DOES, BUT WE USUALLY ALWAYS GET EXCELLENT RECEPTION AND THE PRICES ARE GOOD. THE INSTALLERS WERE REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL WHEN THEY CAME OUT.
