Description of Work: replaced 4 double hung windows with vinyl windows/screens and one oversized picture window.A bit pricey, but the window was already painted so i didnt have to do it after install. saved me a ton of time.

Description of Work: Whole house window replacement. Went very well. Miscommunication between the salesman and my wife regarding reconnecting the alarm system was settled to our satisfaction. Extremely courteous and professional installation crew and Kurt (sales). We love Davis and strongly recommend them!

Description of Work: They have done a few jobs in the past. They replaced most of our windows in our home. They also installed 6ft. wide sliding glass doors when we were doing some renovating. A few years later one of the handles on the door wasn't acting right. I contacted them and stated the door was under warranty and came out and fixed the handle.

Description of Work: Davis Windows and Doors provided estimate of work for replacing:* entire front door, jamb, and surround (including transom and sidelights)* entire back door, jamb, and trim (including transom)* large decorative half-round window and frame over foyer Front office and scheduling were professional, efficient, knowledgable, and accommodating.Representative arrived on time. He was well-equipped with all proper tools and resources to acquire measurements and assess needs. However, the representative didn't really listen to our main concerns/focus with having this work done. Several times, we stated that our goal was to prevent the vicious cycle of wood rot and repair by replacing all the existing woodwork with synthetic materials (vinyl and/or PVC). The representative couldn't speak directly to those concerns, glossing over the definition of "composite materials" and focusing instead on the efficiency of low-e and double-paned glass. Additionally, the estimate he provided was hand-written and not well-itemized (prompting questions about whether the large window was even included). The quote was well above quotes received from other companies for the same work. When questioned about why the numbers would have been so far out of whack with the other estimates, the reponse was that they'd knock off the 5% credit card fee if we paid cash and that they'd throw in the sidelights for free. Again, they didn't answer the actual question about what would have made their quote almost $4000 more than their competitors and again missing the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of our true concern.

Description of Work: I attempted to set up an appointment to get an estimate for replacement windows. However, I was completely turned off when the woman making the appointment refused to give me the cell phone number of the person coming to my home to do the estimate. I always ask for a full name and telephone number for any contractor coming to my home. It allows me to contact the person in case anything comes up the day of the appointment (since the appointment was scheduled for after office hours). Also, I feel more comfortable having a phone number for any stranger I am letting into my home. There are plenty of capable window vendors out there. Apparently, they don't need my business.

Description of Work: WE REQUESTED A QUOTE. THE PERSON ANSWERING (WOMAN) WAS RUDE AND VERY INNEFFECTIVE. THE ONLY THING YOU WANTED TO DO WAS TO QUOTE $1,800+ OVER THE PHONE TAKE OR LEAVE IT. EVEN AFTER I EXPLAINED IT WAS A BASEMENT EXIT DOOR FOR A 1942 BUILT HOUSE AND WE WANTED TO HAVE A FEW OPTIONS. PERSON WAS EXCEEDINGLY RUDE AND WANTED TO KNOW IF WE HAD THE MONEY TO PAY.

Description of Work: REPLACED 23 VINYL WINDOWS WHICH WERE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED. RE-CONFIGURED SOME DOUBLE WINDOWS TO PICTURE WINDOWS TO SAVE COST. ALSO PROVIDED A PVC COATED FRAME AROUND THE EXTERIOR OF THE WINDOWS.

Description of Work: REMOVED OLD WOOD AND WINDOWS. INSTALLED NEW DOUBLE PANE, LOWE ARGON WINDOWS. WRAPPED SILLS AND FRAMES IN VINYL.
