College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

Very efficient and not a scratch.,

The process was very smooth for both the move out and back in. They responded promptly to my call for an estimate and were on time for both scheduled services. The movers took great care of our furnishings as well as being very careful on the newly finished floors. The reason for the B rating on the price was in reference to the 2 hour minimum charge per move as they also charge for travel time to/from their facility. In both cases the work was completed in about an hour. I did not mind paying the travel cost but would consider a one time minimum charge for a total of 3 hours more appropriate.

We had a very positive experience with College Hunks from the initial reservation through the moment the move team left us in our new house. Phil in the local office was prompt and polite providing my quote. The team called when they were leaving their office with an arrival time and once they arrived, went through the house together to ask questions and make sure they understood any move requests and special items handling. This was a difficult move with a lot of stairs and tight corners but they handled it like the trained team I was promised. Sometimes giving verbal instructions isn't the best because the team is tired and it's been a few hours since initial instruction so marked fragile items with colored tape across the front and also labeled everything with exact instructions on where to deliver the goods i.e. master bedroom, storage closet, garage, etc. and all of the boxes made it to their proper places. Our team of three was Malcolm, William and Sean and they worked really well together. They had a nice rapport and were highly efficient in handling all of the stairs! They were simply outstanding; professional and polite, we could tell they took pride in doing their job well. Though we offered them breaks to hydrate on such a miserably hot day, they were brief and didn't take advantage of anything. We provided plenty of water and Gatorade as well as some snacks and they appreciated it very much, accepting with "thank you's" and "yes ma'am". We had a minor scuff on a chair and a painting was left in the truck but the latter is my fault because I inspected the truck for left behind items and forgot that we had tucked it behind some boxes. I have moved a lot over the past 7 years, almost every year. I have tried a couple of different companies, a few with horrendous results. This is a company I will use again. Only, next time I will probably let them unpack and pack me too!

The young men were just wonderful. I am not strong enough to do the work that was necessary. They were all so pleasant and caring about me and my things.

Hired they hunks to come help move and re-arrange furniture in preparation for a move. They showed up with a team of 3 guys and knocked out the work quickly, efficiently and were extremely careful not to damage anything. They guys were very pleasant and easy to work with. I could not have asked for a better experience. These guys were awesome! Kudos to Jonathan, Mickeile and Jajuan for a job well done. Awesome! As a result of our good experience with their labor services, we will be signing them up for a complete move in 2 weeks.

This was our first time to use them. Actually we had two experiences with them, and they were a little bit different. Combining our experiences with them, overall, it was pretty good. Because of the second experience, I would probably not recommend them.

Should really be called "the gang that couldn't shoot straight." And I perceive the problem being with the office, not with the crews. Over the course of three days, Garrett, Joey, Malcolm, James, Hasani, Walter, JuJuan and Carter were all personable and hard-working. I would especially praise Garrett, Justin, Joey, James and Hasani for their care and thoroughness in assembling furniture. However ... 6/21 - Packing was rushed and careless. Some examples - *There were three bookcases in our former home. I asked if books from one case could be put in an upstairs office in our new home and from the other two in a downstairs office. I was assured this would be no problem. While unpacking the numerous unlabelled boxes I found 2 boxes of downstairs books upstairs and 4 boxes of upstairs books downstairs. These were also not the only unlabelled boxes. *Clothing was not hung in 2 of 3 wardrobe boxes, but rather folded (with hangers) and dumped in the boxes. * During the final inspection, I pointed out a missed kitchen cupboard. The items were finally boxed on 6/25 and at my request placed in my car. I did not discover until I got home that the box was too heavy for me to lift alone. * Books were packed in 29" x 18" carton, too heavy and unwieldy for two of us to move on our end. * Components of a Bose stereo system and tv/vcr remotes (3) were left in the middle of the empty dining room floor. 6/24 - A good day. Garret, Joey, James and Hasani did a fine job with the delivery and assemblage. However, I was told by Carol when she called to confirm the appt that I had the truck from 10:30 - 1:30. The crew was under the impression that the time was 10:30 - 12:30. 6/25 - Received a call from the crew at 9:30 a.m. that they were at "the furniture store." The pick up at the furniture store had occurred on the 24th. I can't believe the crew arbitrarily decided to go the furniture store on the wrong day an hour before it opens. I have to think that was the office at work. When the crew got to my former residence, they began unpacking more packing supplies than had been used on 6/21 (especially quilts to wrap furniture). When I asked if they weren't going to a lot of trouble to haul junk, they were amazed to learn they were hauling junk and not moving furniture. Hello, office? That's not a minute by minute summary, but I think it gives a little bit of the flavor of my experience.

I had a small moving job from one apartment to another. I moved most of my stuff, but left the heavy lifting of the furniture to the professionals. This is a well run business down to the smallest details. James and Garrett did an excellent job moving my stuff, listening to me and addressing all my concerns. They took extreme care when handling my furniture which has been damaged on previous moves with other moving companies. My only wish is that it didn't cost so much. It came to $413 for about two and a half hours of work. But I did do some price checking and their rate was lower than another company's.

The process was easy. I called too late on Saturday to schedule a same day pickup. So we scheduled for Sunday...yes Sunday! No need waiting for Monday. It was a busy time for them; with lots of full truck loads. We were pushed back a couple of hours from our scheduled time, but it was fine. Each of the customers before us all had full load pick ups. Walter and Hasani were our "college hunks". Such nice young men! They gave us an estimate before putting our "junk" in their truck, and believe me, it was filled to the brim! We would definitely use CHHJ again.

Roger called me the day before to confirm the appointment time, the services i was requesting and how everything would happen. And just as he said,on the day of the appointment, Nick (one of "the hunks" :) ) called to say they were on their way and would be there shortly. They arrived, introduced themselves and the company/policies, i took them on a tour of the house to show them the pieces they would be hauling away for me, Nick gave me an estimate of price, and then they started. I can't say enough good things about Nick and James...both were friendly, gregarious, funny, and just all-around nice guys. They were very careful, never touched a wall with any piece (and the pieces were big), used mats to covered the wood floors to prevent scratching them, and in little over an hour had moved every piece to the truck. They even moved a large armoire from one room to another for me. Kudos to whoever hired Nick and James...they are definitely 2 keepers! I would use College Hunks Hauling Junk again in a heartbeat,and highly recommend them to everyone...i couldn't have been happier with their work!

The move went very well and exactly as scheduled. We had three movers, Garrett, Kody and James. They did a great job, worked quickly and efficiently and were very professional and courteous. I will definitely call College Hunks Moving the next time we need a moving service.

Prior to the scheduled arrival of our 2 movers, both they and the company scheduler called several times to reconfirm the appointment. This contact was greatly appreciated by us. Everyone associated with this company was a pleasure to work with to make this happen when we really needed it. Even though the 2 movers came to us after a very full day of work, they were very polite, professional, and easy to work with. I recommend this company's service!

They showed up early and were very professional. They removed everything that I had requested plus an additional few items. I would definitely use them again.

I placed my reservation online (easy). Matthew called to discuss the service requested and gave me a rough estimate. He called again the morning of our appointment to let me know they were on the way. He asked if I was excited about the appointment and assured me we would have fun - fun? Hauling junk? He was right. The guys were great and kept us entertained as they worked. They were very professional and had everything taken care of quickly. Great service!

My family had several pieces of furniture that we had outgrown and I wanted to donate them instead of leaving them outside on the curb with a Free sign on them (my husband's choice). We don't own a truck nor do I know anyone who does (Prius, anyone?) so I went online and found College Hunks Hauling Junk (CHHJ) through the Goodwill web site. The CHHJ web site is easy to navigate so I booked a pick up appointment. I read the price page and knew I'd have to pay around $150+ but I figure that is cheaper than damaging my back and going to the doctor. If you go to their web site, there is a visual estimating your cost based on volume. I then received a phone call from CHHJ asking me to please reschedule as they were actually booked the day I wanted. They had other dates and times that worked out well for me, and the gal I spoke with on the phone was very polite. They book a two hour window and call you about 30 minutes before they arrive. The night before their pick up date, they called me to confirm. Then the morning of the scheduled pick up, they called me again to reconfirm. I like being called like this so I was very pleased with that kind of attention. Then they called about 15 minutes before arriving to tell me they were running about 15 minutes late. Since I wasn't in a rush, that was ok. Once they arrived, they immediately apologized for being a little late. The local owner of this franchise, Ryan Silva, was one of the two guys doing this job. He was extremely polite and explained all the details using his binder full of visuals. He answered my questions and was enthusiastic and professional. He gave me an estimate of $225 (I got a $10 discount since I was referred by Goodwill) which is based on the volume your stuff takes up on his truck. This cost was a little more than I had planned for but I was glad to pay it since I didn't have to do any hauling whatsoever (they take stuff out of your home, attic, garage, wherever), they clean up after themselves (in my case, no cleaning needed), and they follow Green practices and donate as much of your stuff as possible to Goodwill. Ryan had me fill out a Goodwill donation form which he signed and returned to me. They will haul stuff to a landfill if needed, too. My husband was not thrilled with having to pay a penny, but I figure I am helping support American jobs. Plus these are young guys trying to make a living here in the Bay Area. They do pickups all up and down the Peninsula. I was very pleased and would hire them again.

They were the best. Quick with an estimate - loads of helpful hints etc. They were respectful, quick and just did a fantastic job overall.

Used a Groupon (2 hours for price of 1). Very professional and exceptionally conscientious about careful handling of our items, as well as interior walls/door frames when carrying items out. On the day of scheduled service, there was an issue with the crew being held up at their previous appointment. The owner, Roger, was very quick to problem-solve and had the crew arriving well within our scheduled window of time. We would definitely use them again even without a 1/2-price deal!!

Atlanta's College Hunks moved our entire household to two locations, kept everyone's things organized & divided, and delivered every piece in perfect condition. I've never seen a moving company take more care with our property. They individually wrapped every piece of furniture (and amazingly fast -- you HAVE to see it). We had a crew of six Hunks, and they were personable, funny, thorough, and hard-working. All we had to provide was a stereo, H2O, Powerade, & whatever snacks we discovered as we cleaned out the pantry (not required, but very appreciated by the Hunks). They sang (and sometimes danced) while they wrapped, moved, and loaded our furniture and boxes. They truly enjoy working with each other, which is probably why they work so well and so quickly together. I truly can't say enough about our Hunks and the job they did for us. Although I'm not planning on moving any time soon, I'll be calling them for all of my junk needs!! Atlanta's College Hunks are amazing!

I called the number on Friday and it was prompt and courteous to set up an appointment for the following Monday morning. Two guys came out (they called 30 min. before arriving) almost on time (20 min. late but since they called, it was fine). Overall, they did a good job of hauling away all the junks that I asked them to. However, the only thing I was not happy about was the price. They charge the job by the volume of the junks in their 8 x 11 ft. truck. They came out and took a quick look at my stuff and told me it would be a full load. I thought it would be 2/3 or 3/4 load of the truck. We agreed to load them up and see what happens. While most of the boxed and bagged stuffs were getting loaded up, I saw that there were plenty of space in the truck. I did quick estimates of how much stuff I have left and felt that it would come maybe 3/4 full at the most. That would be about $80 saving vs. the full load. I have packed and loaded U-Haul trucks more than twenty times since my high school years being a poor student looking for cheat apartments and I feel pretty confident about estimating the truck load. Anyway, towards the end, next thing I knew is that somehow they loaded the final items in a way that the truck looked "full". They did not piled the junks in orderly manner from the middle to the end of the truck. I was almost compelled to go into the truck bed and unload and reload the junks to show them how it would not be a "full" load. But well, they did sweat the labor in the hot summer day and I'm not the poor college kid anymore so I went ahead and paid the full load price. But I do not like being overcharged and probably won't use this company in the future. Bottom line, I will not recommend this company to my friends.

They accommodated a fast schedule, showed up on time and moved everything quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the areas very well. Very nice guys and did a great job.

Called at 9:50 am, and was told they may be able to schedule between 10am to 12:00 pm same day. The owner (I believe) called 30 minutes later to confirm that they will be coming between 11:30 and 11:45. They were right on time, very pleasant and professional. Did a great job removing the large piece of furniture that weighs a ton.
