I was given the option of a repair or replacing the existing unit. CJ did a wonderful job of explaining everything to me and making sure I was well-informed before making a decision.

Service was excellent with a difficult job. Replaced 4 systems and added zoning to two of the systems. Price was not an “A” because we chose quality and capability over price. The day after the implementation it was immediately obvious how much better these systems are and that the zoning investment was very worthwhile.

While installing a new washing machine, I accidentally broke the cold-water line (T-PVC pipe in the wall snapped in half). I called Bardi since they were close-by and had good reviews, and they scheduled me for the following morning. The technician was very polite and professional, but when he was replacing the short section of pipe that I broke, he managed to break the pipe several more times. The original break was just beneath the faucet, but he somehow broke the pipe in 4 more places, including four 90-degree fittings and five pipe sections. The original quote he gave me on arrival and inspection was for $600, which I thought was high, but I agreed. When he finally finished the job, and told me that he broke the pipe in four additional places (he admitted to this, at least, and didn't try to claim it was already broken in five places) the total bill was almost $1900. My home is 22 years old, and I understand that T-PVC pipe does get fragile over time, but I think it's just careless to somehow cause an additional four breakages (both above and below where the pipe passes into the basement) and I think it's highly unprofessional that I was charged almost $1900 for a job that was estimated at $600. The Bardi technician also gave my number (without getting my permission first) to a Restoration company who then called and wanted to come inspect for any water damage, and offer their services. While I appreciate the thought, it's again very unprofessional to just give out my mobile number without asking me first.

I REALLY like Bardi! 3 houses over 14 years - they've always done a great job. On time. Friendly. Reasonable. Do-it-right attitude. BUT - they should stop selling AMANA units. JUNK. We had them install a complete HVAC 4 years ago. The AC compressor unit just got it's second capacitor in that amount time! A "part" that apparently isn't covered under the 10 year Amana warranty. Plus, I'm now told the coil is starting to leak refrigerant! That's why our unit shut down. After only 4 years! I hope the coil is a part covered under the warranty. And, they needed to tighten all the electrical connections on the circuit board because they were loose and arcing! JUNK! JUNK! Please Bardi - stop selling Amana JUNK. And Goodman for that matter since they make Amana products. I'd change this rating to an A if you stop selling them.

Not well. Instead of providing me an estimate or quote beforehand, the tech came out and presented me with a price that was triple what another firm quoted me. I had used Bardi before because they did good work but the price gap was incredible. Could have saved a ton of time and they ended up charging me $68 to show up. Will never use again. The tech was very professional but again the price was outrageous.

The consultant was responsive and discussing the pricing and installation. The price ended up being a little higher than a competitor, but that competitor was charging me for moving the water heater in order to complete the install and also attempted to sell me a water heater. The consultant indicated that even if the water heated had to be moved, they would not charge it, but also said my water heater was perfectly fine and threw in a wifi thermostat. The technicians showed up on time. The problem arises in that I was supposed to get someone else to come out for quality assurance. I reached out to the consultant to see when that would happen and he said I should hear back from someone in about a week. The install happened on 8/9 and over two months later QA has not happened. On one hand, I didn't feel that they were trying to upsell me, but on the other QA should have happened and I shouldn't have to continue to follow-up about it. If someone called for QA, a voicemail was not left. The consultant called and didn't leave voicemails, but I came to recognize his number. Ultimately, I have a warranty, so I will use Bardi again.

I had an issue with Bardi. They sent an inexperienced tech out. When he got there, I told him I was on a call the whole day. I asked him for updates throughout the whole day. He basically wouldn't give me any until I was on that call and I could not answer. So he went to my wife and pressured her for an immediate response. We ended up spending like $3000 on unnecessary repairs that should have not been scheduled. At that point I called Bardi and talked to one of the owners, Adam Bardi. He basically said I can give you a $100 credit to use on Bardi, which is almost a slap in the face considering how much we spent on it. I had another person come out later. That person told me that the tech from Bardi that replaced all the stuff that I was charged for put in the wrong size devices with the wrong current. If he hadn't caught it, my whole A/C unit would've just died. That was a different company. That was a company that my dad trusted and lives in the area. I called them back multiple times but it was just literally a nightmare. They did not want to do anything. I even called them about the damage about the air conditioner failing. They said they would send someone out, but do you really want someone from the company that originally messed things up send someone out. Do you really want them to look at it and then probably take something away. You don't want them to come out and fix an issue they caused or cover up an issue they caused. They manipulated my wife and took advantage of the situation and did not stand by their product or their technician. They did not stand by the customer despite it being a guarantee. They were argumentative and and did not stand by their work. They blindly defended the technician. F for quality because they replaced it with incorrect parts that would damage my system. They didn't get back to me very quickly on the issue. I had to call multiple times to followup and it was very difficult dealing with them. They did arrive on time. They didn't respond to calls. They avoided calls.

They came in and I had actually questioned the individual who was doing the work about what he suggested that they do which included cleaning the ducts and I had just done that about six months earlier, about sealing the ductwork and I had just paid them to do that about six months earlier but there were four or five things on the need-to-do list that they gave me. Particularly after installing this new unit the totals went to $2000 or something in that range and by that point I think I just had enough. And so I called someone else to come in and just do blind check of what needed to be done and they came in and did an assessment and not a single one of the things that were add on they had already put on were suggested by this other provider who had no knowledge that I was shopping for a new provider. It was just sort of a painful decision to leave Bardi because I had been with them for so long but it just seemed like they weren't being run the way they used to. They did technically what they were obligated to do, the problem was they kept thinking of things to try and sell me that I didn't need additional maintenance and I didn't need to be done. The quality was okay. They've always been very responsive.

Bardi rep came out for routine summer maintenance as part of Friends of Bardi program. Was supposed to bring a filter for each of my systems. He only brought one. Then he informed us we had a freon leak in our downstairs unit which would cost $1700 to diagnose and repair. Then he informed us it was only $5500 to get a new system. I was very suspicious because the unit was working just fine. I sought a second opinion from another company. He told me our unit was perfectly okay and no coolant was necessary. Needless to say I will not be using Bardi in the future.

They quoted minimum cost for gas line repair over the phone. The tech inspected the problem & confirmed repair quote. He also gave a quote for a new line if for some reason line can't be repaired. Quote for new line was very high, but in this case they were able to repair cut gas line. Tech had to order part & come back to complete repair. Tech was very experienced & professional. I was charged the price quoted which included service call charge.

I had to replace an air conditioning unit in July 2015. We have been Bardi customers for fifteen years. Prior to the replacement we had service bills of around $1000 for each of the previous three or four semi annual tune ups. We have been on their routine maintenance plan. Because of the age of our equipment this is possible yet seemed excessive. Finally early last summer the old unit gave up the ghost and had to be replaced. It took five or six follow up visits after installation to get the new unit to work properly. In spite of what I perceive as very good intentions, either the original equipment was defective or it was not properly installed. When it finally did work after replacing several other peripheral pieces of equipment it still made a scraping sound every time the unit came on. Finally when the regular maintenance was done in October, the technician discovered the problem and replaced the item with parts from another unit in the warehouse. Our unit seems to be working well now. The technician who came out in October seemed more knowledgeable and took ownership of the problem until it was resolved. He was very good. I plan to continue with Bardi for now. The fact that it took so many visits and return visits (which necessitated someone being home) to get a new unit properly installed was very disappointing. What is even more disappointing is that I called Adam Bardi to discuss the problem and did not get a return call for about a month. I've known Alex Bardi for perhaps twenty years. I never had an issue with service until the last year or so when Adam appears to have taken over service management. I'll be watching the next few service calls carefully. Until about 18 months ago I was a happy customer who referred others to Bardi. Hopefully the service issues are in the past and staff training and quality gets more consistent.

When I initially set up the appointment and gave them the Angie's list code they did not seem on task for that information. So when they showed up unprepared I was not totally surprised that they sent out the wrong person for the test and were not equipped for the fan test. They were apologetic and had to call the company to have the right person come out. The correct person came out about an hour later which for us was no problem. Once there they did a great job testing. I definitely feel like I got more than my moneys worth and would do it again if needed. They were very informative in all areas of HVAC use.

[member name removed] I’m sorry to hear of your experience, but I’m not sure if it was with Bardi. I’ve searched our system and cannot find a record of an appointment with you, nor do we have any estimators that match your description. If you could double check your records it would be greatly appreciated.--Gresham Ard, Residential General Manager
