Had three visits over 1 week, and still having issues with the door knobs as a result of their work. What happened during this most basic of locksmith projects?? Day 1, Israel arrived to re-key. We had contractors coming in and out for various projects on our newly purchased home that morning and afternoon (very very busy and stressed), so we were hoping this simple re-key project would be quick and out of our hair. I have had locks re-keyed by other vendors about 5 times over my 23 years of adulthood, so thought this would be straightforward as it has been in the past. But he was there a couple of hours, and ran into trouble re-keying two of the locks (the house is only 15 years old, so the knobs and locks are not super old). He said he must replace the knobs on both he was having trouble with, but would only charge for one set of knobs. Took the cost up to $225 above estimate. An hour later he was out. That night, we found that one of the knobs he replaced was spinning loose (defective). The knob appears really cheap, low quality. Called the next day, and they said they were sending him out, but he never showed up. Called the following day a few times before he finally showed up. Mind you, we were in the middle of moving a family from one house to another, so having a member being held in one location playing phone tag/chase with the company, and waiting for the contractor to come back and fix his defective product/job, had me steaming from the ears. After this visit, the new knob still did not work... so back to phone tag and waiting on another visit. After visit 3, the knob is now not catching to hold the door closed unless you wiggle it 10-12 times and recite a few choice words over it... and unfortunately this particular door is used quite often. Very frustrated. We joined Angie's List last week the day after we scheduled this company. If I had seen the reviews on this company, contrasted with good reviews of other locksmiths, we would have made a better choice.

The lock now works and all is well, but I will not recommend to others or use them again.
Description of Work: Front door lock would not accept key so used Angie's list to look for providers of this service. The service technician was professional but did not seem to know what he really needed to do (my perception) in my case. I also had some problems with communication with the technician and he could have had the same problem with me. Ended up replacing the lock for 60.00, rekeyed for 45.00, service call 30.00, and labor for removal and install 15.00. I am not at all sure if these are fair or not, I just felt that I was bargaining for the cost

This company provided the worst service that I ever had in my whole life. Back in November 2010, I called this company for estimate about rekey. The guy who answered the phone said it was about $20 per rekey. I needed to do three rekeys so my estimate was about $89 ($29 for the phone service). I made the appointment with them. On the service date, the service guy never showed up, I called the company and was told the service guy was on his way. After about one hour, I called them again and was told the service guy was in a car accident and they sent another service people. So about another 45 minutes, finally a service lady showed up. It took her 15 minutes to finish the job. When she showed me the bill, it was $259. And then I realized that she changed three locks instead of rekey. After a week after this service, one of the door knob was broken (you can see what kind of cheap locks they put on the door). The service lady came and had to replace it. After 10 months later, which is a week ago, another door knob was broken. I called them again, and the lady who answered the phone said, since I was their customer, they will give me discount. It will be $50 to fix or replace the broken door knob which was changed by them. On the day of the appointment, the service guy called me and said it will be $75 to fix or replace it. His attitude was the worst that everyone can imagine. I called back to the phone who scheduled this appointment. The lady was not available, a guy answered my phone. He told me it will charge $95. And he was as rude as the service guy. In the end, all I can say is that "I don't want your service anymore".
Description of Work: Fix the broken door knob which was changed by this company.
