Very professional. They went to the county office and got the drawing for the location of the septic tank. This minimized the amount of digging to reach the tank covers. Also, they put tarps down to reduce the amount of grass being disturbed.

Description of Work: I called Smooth Flow with a problem around 9AM and they were at my home working on the problem between 11 and 12 noon. The issue of a clogged filter was resolved and additional inspection and needed clearing of the inlet was also performed.

Description of Work: This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Smooth Flow Septic has no regard for the customers property and the mess they leave behind. I told them to be careful as my sprinkler system lines were in the area. They hit the lines and when they knew they had hit them, they just keep going and ripped out over 50 feet of pipe by the roots. They ran over a solar light. When they pulled the hose out of my tank, I looked into the tank and it was not fully pumped out. Chris told me that he needed to leave some in the tank to get it going again. I now know that it was because the truck was full and they didn't want to empty it and come back. No telling how many other customers they did the same to. I asked them to compact the removed dirt and they didn't do it, so I now need to dig down and compact the dirt so I don't have a sink hole. | |This happened on a Wednesday. Between that Wednesday and Friday I found that this company had left several messages on my answering machine wanting me to pay the bill now and they even left a message that they were on the way to the Sheriff's office to take a warrant out for non payment. Then they sent an email that stated they sued me in Small Claims Court. I really didn't think they sued me, but they really did and this was just 2 days after they did the job. | |So, I went to Court and the Judge reduced the amount I needed to pay Smooth Flow Septic for the job. | |I also contacted the Coweta County Environmental Health Department and one of the staff told me that several other people have complained about this company. | |Bottom line is you need to stay far away from this company.

Concern I am the owner of Smooth Flow Septic and I feel I must respond to this comment. I should have done a better job with the explanation of what is to be expected when your tank is serviced. Again, I am sorry (Removed members personal information) feels like he experienced the worst customer service ever. The damage to his yard was caused by the use of a small tractor we had to use to access the tank. The tank is only supposed to 12 inches deep per county code. His tank was 40 inches deep and in situations such as these we use a small tractor. I can see where use of this equipment can seem extreme and does leave holes that may take some time or gardening to look like the area did before the service. Unfortunately, there is no better way to access a tank that is over 3 ft. deep. The sprinkler system was paced directly over the septic tank and no one knew this at the time of service. About 10 feet of ¾ inch water line was broken and we informed (Removed members personal information) that he needed to call a sprinkler company and reroute the sprinkler around the septic system to prevent this from happening in the future. At the time of service we did realize we ran over a solar light and would have adjusted the bill to pay for the light. Concerning the matter of pumping the tank completely out, (Removed members personal information) scheduled service to pump out a 1500 gallon tank. We pumped out 1500 gallons but the tank was overfull and holding more than 1500 gallons. The system had never been serviced per (Removed members personal information) and it was 17 years old and the system had backflow coming from the field. After removing 1500 gallons additional water poured into the tank from the drainfield. Our dumping fee is .13 per gallon if you break it down by gallons. We do charge for any overage due to fact that we are charged by the waste water plant for the amount of gallons we dispose each time so we only pumped the 1500 gallons and we only charged (Removed members personal information) for the 1500 gallons we pumped. Our technician gave out incorrect information concerning the overage of septage. Our technician was brought in and made aware of his inaccurate response and told how to handle it in the future. We do appreciate bringing this matter to our attention. Compacting the soil is something we instruct our technician to limit. We have discussed this issue with multiple landscapers and had them on jobs at times, this is their area of expertise and they informed us it will settle after a couple of rains. If we compact it too much there could be a sinkhole. However, due to this situation we have decided if the customer insist, do as the request. We do require payment at the time of service and have had many situations where it took a couple of months to receive payment. Our business is very costly to operate and disposal cost continue to go up. When our request for payment is ignored it causes concern. We have never had to go to court with a customer in 10 years of service and never filed a suit. This situation we felt it was best to let the courts handle. We have learned from our mistakes. Since the court case was resolved we contacted the Coweta County Environmental Health to inquire about someone other than (Removed members personal information) complaining about our company. The staff member “ the same one that spoke to (Removed members personal information)” said she has never had anyone else complain about us and that she was speaking in general of the industry receiving complaints. She said, she had received numerous comments from speaking with people in the community about what great service we provide. The total bill for the service was $715.00. It was 445.00 to pump the 1500 gallon tank, 125.00 for the tractor service and 145.00 to replace the filter that (Removed members personal information) asked for. These are very fair prices for the septic industry. In the court action Smooth Flow was awarded $690.00. Again, we hate this situation happened the way it did and we have learned from this incident. We would like to again apologize to (Removed members personal information) and wish him the best in the future.

Left a message describing the work, and they called back within 15 minutes. They showed up at the scheduled time, explained what they were going to do, and did it quickly. I was kept informed as to the progress, as they showed me what they had done and found (e.g., nearly full tank). I'm from the North, and never had a septic tank before, so it was an informative experience. They cleaned up well and promptly.
Description of Work: First, they located my septic openings, under many inches of soil, They installed risers and covers, pumped the tank, and cleaned the filter.

I called about noontime and the company was at the house by 1pm. They were very efficient and had the job completed in a little more than an hour (even with 2six year olds asking numerous questions etc). They made sure that everything was in working order before the tank was closed. The hole was filled in with the dirt that they had set aside on tarps and the sod was replaced. Everything was very neat when they left. I have no complaints and would highly recommends them.
