About us

QWR Handyman Services: YOUR FIRST CALL AS A PROPERTY OWNER Owning property is work, but the beauty of it is, the owner doesn’t have to do ALL the work. There are pesky chores, routine maintenance, complete overhauls and things that break and need to be fixed. QWR Handyman Services does it all. PESKY CHORES: Every property owner, particularly those who own rental property, have long, “honey-do” lists. The chores could range from painting a room, to fixing a loose door handle. The landlord may be able to do it, but why? He or she, particularly with several rental properties, has better things to do. Call QWR Handyman Services and get those pesky chores done at ALL your properties, including the one you live in. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE: Most houses need exterior paint every so many years, particularly with the Georgia sun beating down on them. Perhaps the gutters need cleaning every year. Perhaps that deck or patio needs power washing, staining or painting. QWR Handyman Services will know what needs to be done, and when. Those chores will be done automatically. COMPLETE OVERHAULS: Kitchens and bathrooms become dated. Plumbing needs upgrading. Perhaps there are rooms that cry for a little rethinking. QWR Handyman Services can do the job as you want it, within the budget you set. QWR Handyman Services will work with you on price and materials. Your house will look new in a very short time! THINGS THAT BREAK: Windows can crack. Light fixtures can go dark. Garage doors can get off track. No matter what breaks, QWR Handyman Services can fix it promptly. Office Number is (770) 983-8856. Great overall experience.
Description of Work: Just wanted to leave an overall review how great Jason and his team have been. I originally had them do some siding work on the house which was great. I was going to use them again for some interior paint but had some unexpected issues come up on our fire sprinkler system that is delaying that. Overall I will definitely use QWR in any future needs.

I reached out to Jason last minute to remove and install my mailbox post after a moving van accidentally knocked it over. Jason was very helpful as we organized a time able to accomplish the work. I wasn't home when his team arrived but when I returned from work, I was very pleased with the effort they performed. Thanks to Jason, I'll be sure to contact QWR in the near future.

Initially, I purchased a big deal on Angie's list for the "Painter for a day" option. When my husband called the schedule the consultation, we were essentially told to go find another provider. They told us they were booked up through the fall and that the deal was supposed to be removed. We were slightly put off but things happen. I contacted Angie's list and they helped us by refunding the deal and matching us up with other providers. If the matter had ended here, things would've been fine. But they didn't .... A few days after speaking with Angie's List, the owner contacted me to apologize for the mix-up. He let me know that he had been away on vacation and also detailed some staffing issues with not having enough painters for the season's demands. Again, all that is understandable. My problem came when I asked him if he would still be able to come out and give me a quote on the work. He was hesitant and didn't seem to expect that question but he did tell me he would call me once he was back in his office, and we'd set something up. Unfortunately, I never got any follow up from him. I understand being away for vacation but I don't understand the lapse in customer service. Being on vacation means you should leave someone in charge that's able to provide the level of customer service that best represents your company. In the end, we found another company who makes us feel like our business is as valuable as their time.

They kept me informed of their progress and told me what would and would not work about what I wanted done.
Description of Work: Fixed wood siding that was coming loose on a very tall house. Cleaned roof and checked for issues. Reattached wood deck to the house and tightened it with bolts and screws. Painted window trim from a new window install. Installed new washer hoses on tight connections I was unable to loosen. Claude and Jack were efficient and knowledgeable.

First I would like to say before I purchase a deal I do make contact with the company and being a new home owner and a female I worry about get ripped off that's why I joined Angie's List because I'm big on reading reviews and I'm one of those people that can read 99 bad reviews and I'll still read that 1 negative review to see how the company responded when I've asked others about a negative review they immediately got defensive and a little rude so I definitely didn't do business with them but when I asked Jason about his maybe 1 or 2 he was very nice explained everything to me and didn't say anything mean about that person and that made me feel very comfortable like he's honest, up front and will go the extra mile to satisfy his customers and that's what matters most to me. I think it's unreasonable for anyone to hire a handyman for the day and want them to squeeze in everything you can think of with no break! With that being said his employees arrived on time, let me know what Jason told me needed to be done and that I had informed him I would go to Home Depot for anything needed they checked everything and he made me a complete list of everything that was needed to install the toilets and sinks on the vanities. They were very nice and worked hard and communicated with me a lot on how things were going through out the day. They were working so much that when I grabbed lunch for the kids that were here I grabbed an extra one for them and told them to help themselves and to grab a drink. I thought they would stop working right then to have some lunch because it was after 1:00 and they got here at 9:00 but they kept on working and ate much later after I told them again, you guys deserve to take a lunch break! I had also asked Jason if things went well could I add on extra work and pay an additional fee but I really wanted to see how they worked first so I did add on extra because that list wasn't what I originally wanted done. So I purchased additional services that were in excess of what we originally spoke about for the Big Deal and I've also requested estimates on 2 other big renovations so I will be using this company again and recommending this company to anyone looking for a honest company who won't rip you off and truly aims to please the customer!
Description of Work: Replaced 3 toilets, installed bathroom wall cabinet, 2 vanities, 2 kitchen cabinets, replaced shower head, installed shelf in kitchen and laundry room, put a door back on the hinges, put closet doors back on track and helped with the removal of washer and dryer,

How blessed we are to have found Jason and this company! They never came or went without asking us if we were satisfied. Clearly, customer satisfaction - whatever it takes - is their number one goal They went well beyond what they had to do, even doing a few "while you are here" jobs without blinking an eye (adjusting shifted doors). The men actually doing the job were professional and the hardest workers I have ever come across. Their work is professional and quality! Jason was patient with us while we made choices and constantly checked to make sure everything was going as we had hoped. We found this company when our son needed to have some work done to his front door. What impressed us then was while they were working on the door, they came in and told our son that they noticed a couple of the pickets in the rail along his front porch were hanging loose and they reattached them. They said it looked dangerous to them and while they were there they just took care of it for him. No charge. Really? I put their customer service up there with Chick-fil-A and the Ritz-Carlton. Professional. Quality. We will be calling these guys again!
Description of Work: Ripped up laminate and subfloor and installed Durock and tile in two baths and laundry room. Remodeled bath including tearing out a non-support wall and vanity, relocating electrical, installing new vanity and connecting plumbing. Also installed tile above shower.

Our initial contact was in August 2015 but due to scheduling conflicts it was November before Jason (owner) could come by the house to assess what was needed and give me an estimate. I pointed out what I needed done and he assured me he could get it done. He also pointed out one of my gutters hanging off the side of the house and we included that in the list of things to be done. He also informed me that I didn?t need to replace the vanity after all, he was able to make some adjustments and fit the pedestal. They came on Monday Nov 23 and completed the work outside. The garage trim was fixed and painted, the porch post was replaced and painted, and the gutter nailed back to the house. They came back the next day to adjust the bathroom vanity. There was an unexpected issue and the job took a little longer than expected but Claude informed what it was and ensured I approved any additional parts needed before proceeding. He was professional and cleaned up after.
Description of Work: I needed several things done. I had dry rotted wood around the front of my garage that caused the garage trim to hang, a rotting porch post and wanted a vanity replaced because after installing laminate wood the pedestal could no longer fit

We suspected a water leak after noticing a spike in the utility bill at rental property. We have a little DIY knowledge and expertise in this type of project. Noticed the 'saggy' ground near the meter and upon some advice and past experience we started a trench and located a small leak at a connector between two sections of pipe. That could not be it! The meter was spinning like a jet engine and we could hear the water pressure at the wall in the basement. Noticed that the pipe was also inferior and would need to be pulled out and all new installed. On a Saturday morning, through Angie's List, I contacted three prospective companies and requested a callback. Jason, with QWR was the only one to respond and with a quickness! After exchanging some essential information, he told me he would come out to take a look at our work that day. He arrived later that afternoon and assessed the situation. The essential trench was done and we had temporarily capped the leak, but wanted a professional to take it from there. I explained that I wanted one straight shot from meter to house, no more couplings in the ground if possible. He agreed that was best, and told me would have a quote to me early in the week. Gave my brother a kudos for his work thus far, too. One other company did issue an estimate for the project that totally neglected that we had completed the trench ourselves. Jason was willing to work with us addressing the labor/materials that his company would complete. He gave me a quote by Tuesday morning, and we set up a date of Friday to complete the project. A two man crew arrived on Friday morning, on time as agreed. The were not bothered discussing the work with my brother as they went along. The project was completed in about two hours, including clean-up, and re-cover of the trench. They were on time, professional, respectful and helpful. Jason came out to inspect later that afternoon. Issued me an invoice and receipt. The county water agency came out to conduct their inspection about a few days later and we are back in "low water bill" territory now. Thank goodness! I appreciate Jason's willingness to accommodate my dire situation on a Saturday when he was with his family. Shows me he really wanted the job. "No job too small" he told me. I will be utilizing his services again and recommend him.
Description of Work: QWR Handyman Services completed a professional removal and installation of an outdoor water line. They also upgraded line connections at the meter and at the residence.

Initial contact was good; Jason and I set up a mutually agreeable date and time (Monday x/x at 900a) and I sent him repairs I was wanting. The $500 flat cost for 8 hours work equaled $62.50 an hour. He said he was going to block off a couple of hours on Tuesday ?just in case?, and he?d give me a deal on the price. I had a new kitchen faucet that needed to be installed, and a lot of drywall patching (the toughest was going to be on my garage wall and garage ceiling). I did have 2 or 3 other small tasks if there was time left over (my mother was in the hospital, and I needed these tasks done, but I didn?t let him know that initially). I figured about 2 hours of drywall work, about 2 hours to work on the faucet and I?d have time left over to not only do my last couple of odd jobs but also to give the guy a little time off at the end of the day. His worker showed up at about 915a. He apologized for being late and said he wasn?t much of a morning person. We went over the tasks I had for him, and he settled on a course of action. He worked on drywall locations, two in the garage which were difficult, and what ended up being 4 or 5 others areas of the house. As that was drying, he started on the faucet. There were issues with a connector between the water line and faucet. When he let me know, he advised me I would be responsible for cost of the parts (I had no issue with that, but would've preferred to reimburse with receipts rather than give an advance). I wrote him a $80 personal check to cover expenses (and ultimately his tip at the end of the day) and told him if it was more to bring receipts back to me. His worker made several trips to Home Depot (5 minutes away). One trip was associated with lunch. None of the trips were enough to finish the job on the faucet because he had the wrong parts, and the parts were not able to be returned because the were used (he took them with him). There wasn?t anything else to do on the faucet because he needed a special piece of equipment he had elsewhere and the mud wasn?t dried to finish work. I was going to need the hours on Tuesday. His day was over about 415p. I needed to me with my Mother on Tuesday, so I couldn?t be there. My wife was ready for his arrival. He arrived at about 930a, and the worker's first task was to our bathroom where he spent some time. My wife said he took ?a deuce?, Jason said he was told the worker was sick and throwing up (I think it?s relatively easy to tell the difference). I believe he left before noon, and I was billed $240. My assumption is 4 hours of work at $60 and hour. I challenged the second day's bill and he re-did it to show a credit for the remainder of the first day?s ?tip? (supplies from Home Depot totaled $60, the other $20 was refunded), he changed the $240 to $150 but charged me $20 for "fuel" . Jason was going to credit me $90. I asked him to drop a check in the mail and Jason replied, "I certainly will". That was on August 4th. I e-mailed on August 21st regarding my refund with no reply. I?m writing this on August 29th, and have yet to receive a check for the credit. Of the drywall work done, the garage and three areas in the house had to be redone. There was no communication if the $500 for 8 hours was to include travel time and a paid lunch break of 45 minutes to one hour. I assumed that the 8 hours would begin with his arrival at 900a, and he?d work until 500p, with a reasonable lunch break in between. I?ll ask these questions if I do this kind of work again. I feel I was taken advantage of. Here's my view of the time I bought from QWR, and I reported this to Jason: DAY 1: $62.50 an hour, 8 hours bought Arrived 915A. 1 hour mudding garage, 30 minutes mudding other parts of house. 2 hours work on kitchen faucet. A couple of runs to Home Depot, less than 10 minutes away. Day complete 415p-430p. No other work to do (mud hadn't dried, he didn't have the tools he needed to work on sink). Asked for personal check made out to him (not company) for supplies. My wife said it looked like he knew this was an hourly paid job and it was being slow-rolled. DAY 2: $60 an hour, charged for 4 hours, 2 actually worked Arrived 930a. Spent time in the client's restroom to start day. Work began just before 1000a. 1 hour sanding, 1 hour faucet. Left by noon. When I sent this to Jason when he wanted positive feedback to this site and I reported the above, Jason?s answer was: ?Please do not report anything negative to Angie's list.if I can help do anything to prevent that it would be great you cannot have negativity removed from there and it hurts my business I will deal with [name removed] myself sorry and it didn't go as you planned but employees sometimes don't think about what we think about.? I don?t want to say there was intent to use those hours on the second day, but it doesn?t pass the smell test with me. The price was WAYYY too much for the professionalism and quality of work displayed and I don?t hold out a lot of hope I?ll see the refund promised. Others may have had positive results from QWR, I say pass on them. BIG pass!! I cetify what I have said is true and correct and can be corroborated by another if needed.
Description of Work: Agreed upon tasks were dry wall work and installation of a new kitchen faucet (already bought).

I want to start off by saying I don't want to go into a confrontation with this homeowner based on his theory. But I made it perfectly clear to him before starting this project that all the items named above in our conversation I mentioned to him that it would not possibly happen in that timeframe that if it needed to be we would charge again to come out to finish . I'm sorry the customers get the wrong impression that they will pay for eight hours of handyman service and get everything done that they wanted sometimes it doesn't work like that.. If you look at our past too bad reviews you will see that there was no comment about crappy work but always mentioned that they didn't get it done in that timeframe. Not getting it done and doing bad work is two different things. Out of 18 reviews only have two that are negative and there all regarding the timeframe the work was completed in my book that is a good company. As a business owner I take pride in my company and my staff and stand behind them in the future we will work towards better communication with our clients as we value our clients. Clients is what my business is built from. I always take pride in repeat business from existing customers that I have built a large client base with. The past couple of days I've dealt with new customers and took a new approach with them as of what description work they are looking to have done prior to purchasing anything from my company so that we are on the same page and they felt very comfortable about that I went for a free estimate of course and looked at the situation gave them a better estimate and then they purchased my services makes me feel better about the whole situation . Whether this means anything or not I am a Christian I run business the best I can and sometimes you run into situations like this. I am very sorry about his mother and do hope she gets better . For future customers please take in consideration that the only two negative reviews that I have on Angie's list is regarding how much work was completed rather than bad work .that is very important thanks for the opportunity to respond. Thanks Jason with Qwr services

Someone from OWR contacted me on Wed 8/05/15 to come take a look at services needed to ascertain if additional hours are needed. He called back to state that because my place was far from their office they will rather just come out on Friday to do the job. I explained I needed my shutters (4) and windows (4) trims painted. I asked that they call before coming out so I can either be there or have someone be there. I had my mom wait on them on Friday, surprisingly one guy showed up without calling and only painted the shutters and did nothing to the windows. No one called to explain if more time was needed to paint the trims just left after painting the shutters. I dont think he used 2 hours to paint just 4 shutters. Highly unprofessional OWR. Essentially I paid $150 in labor to have 4 shutters painted.

I'm sorry there was a miscommunication in our conversation. I want to touch base on two things that were mentioned by you one was the fact that I was an hour and 15 minutes from you and that I already knew what you needed done and let you know that for two hours that was very unlikely that you could get that much completed that I would do as much as I could in that time. Also in our conversation you also mentioned to me do I have to be there and I said no would you please leave the paint outside being that this is an exterior project you said OK great. I also mentioned that we would arrive around 9 to 930 . Also this is a handyman special for 150 I do not send two individuals out for a small job. I am a professional I've been in this line of work for over 15 years it does take time for set up and completion especially when doing two coats of paint two hours isn't a long time. Judging by my review history on Angie's list I can easily see where this was a communication factor and I apologize for the misunderstanding hope you have a wonderful day thanks Jason from Qwr services. For all future customers I proudly stand behind my work I have great customer satisfaction skills I love working with my customers if there's a problem I would love to talk about it but before going to this extreme I try to keep a good work history as you can see from my profile, thanks

I contacted Jason for a quote on some damages to a rental property I own in another state. The renter's reported that a woodpecker had damaged areas around the chimney and that the backdoor threshold was beginning to rot due to water damage. Jason was punctual with contacting the renters of the home to set up a time to assess the damage and he was also punctual with calling me with his estimate. Both jobs were completed quickly and effectively and the final cost was exactly as quoted to me. Jason sent me pictures of the completed work the day he finished the job and the work looked fine in the pictures. Since pictures can be difficult to assess, I asked the renter his thoughts on Jason's work and how he was to work with. The renter said he was very satisfied and said Jason was nice to work with.
Description of Work: Repaired woodpecker damage on chimney and water damage on door threshold.

QWR is the worst company I l have ever used in over 30 years of home renovations. Their work was sloppy and very unprofessional. I decided to use a local small business when I decided to do some much needed interior work on my own home. I meet with several and decided on Jason and his 2 man crew, he seemed like a nice guy and seemed to know his stuff. Jason said, he and his 2 man crew would jump on the job and it would be done right. (Jason worked less than 4 hours on the entire job, somedays I had one employee working, somedays two.) Jason had a coupon for 10% off jobs over $1000.00 on his Angies List website, when I gave it to him he wouldn't take it, he said I was suppose to give it to him before he made his estimate so he could up the estimate to cover it. So how was I saving anything??? The contact was signed on June 26th 2014, the start date and end dates were left blank. I thought nothing of it since we had agreed verbally on the dates, and I have done this before with other larger companies with no problems. Jason assured me the job would be done in 5 days. The agreed dates came and went.(Please make sure he fills out all blank spaces on his contract, because if not, then it comes down to your word against his). Finally on Friday July 11th, one employee shows up. I knew then there was going to be a problem when he started asking ME for plastic, tape, and ladder to HIS job. Several hours later another employee shows up and they have to go buy the materials needed for the job (another hour lost). I went into the kitchen and they were using my kitchen chairs as ladders. When they left that afternoon, everything was covered in wet plaster from the popcorn ceiling, (floors, counters, walls and furniture). Both front and back porches had the same ceiling plaster walked all over them, along with carpets, rugs and wood floors. Kitchen was totally unusable all weekend and the following week. The second time I called Jason it was to complain of the mess that was being made on my floors and walls and how my furniture was being treated, he told me I was "getting out of hand". I am "getting out of hand" for complaining how my home and property are being treated??? Jason ask for the final payment so he could make his payroll, on Friday July 18th and assured me the crew would finish everything and clean up all the mess before they left for the day and the job would be finished. I took his word again and again I was disappointed. They left before doing any clean up at all, (or even finishing the job) right after Jason returned from the bank and paid them. I called Jason to see why the job wasn't finished, but it went straight to voicemail. I finally called one of the "crew" to see what the problem was and was told "we were tired". I was left with one coat of paint on the walls (with old paint showing through in a lot of places), wood floors and carpets with paint all over them, paint runs and splatters on baseboard and walls, paint overspray on windows, permanent wall fixtures and mirrors, new couch with white paint on I (that I had to remove), kitchen table and chairs with white paint splattered on them, window shutters and stair rails not even painted in foyer, (Jason and a "crew" member came on Saturday to do the rails and shutters, when they left, only the fronts that could be seen facing into the room were painted, stair side and window side were still left unpainted). Ceiling paint was used on trim that had oil based paint on them, so trim has brush marks and is very dull, (the trim paint Jason bought for the job is still full in my garage), paint on ceiling light fixtures, dust from sanding that was on surfaces and doors was not wiped off before painting leaving a rough texture that you can feel and see, bedroom doors were sprayed while still hung and overspray was on bedroom carpets, (carpet man had to cut it out and replace), list goes on and on. I have pictures of before and after and the before looks better! I wish I could put them on here. I have given Jason 7 days since he "finished" the job to come do a walk through and fix his work, still to this date I have not heard from him at all. I hope no one else has the problems I had with this company. I took a risk using this small local business and lost. This company has ended up costing me alot more in time and money than the highest bidder I had, since I will now have to pay to have it cleaned up and redone. Like the old saying goes "you get what you pay for". I sincerely hope if you decide to use this company, that you have a much better experience with them than I did. UPDATE: In answer to your response to my review. have yet to hear from you on the walk through. And if you will look it was under painting. I have called the flooring installer (you sub-contracted with) to do my floors (because he told me to call HIM if any problems)3 times to fix ripples and bubbles under vinyl, he says he will be out to fix it and he has yet to show. Your estimate was lower on the roof because you did not replace sheet rock, roof wood, insulation, re-mud or re-paint anything in that room where the leak was. I have not reviewed roof because waiting to see if we have any leaks. Have not reviewed flooring because was waiting to give your sub-contractor time to finish (it's been to weeks, still waiting). Reviews were written for area of work done in each catogory. When you pay someone this much you expect pleasing results. I never told you that I was "happy" with anything since I have not seen or heard from you since. And carpets upstairs were not being replaced!
Description of Work: Removed popcorn off kitchen ceiling, painted walls, trim and ceilings in kitchen, living room, dining room, foyer, and half bath.

Response from QWR Handyman Services Inc
I'm sorry I was not able to satisfy this customer it was impossible. Me and [member name removed] had a contract that was signed she called me a week before it was to be started and said she will not be able to because her son had injured his knee and that she did not have insurance on him so she had to come out of pocket expenses. Also the contract was not four $3600 it was for $16,000 because she failed to mention we installed a new roof on her home as well. We were reasonable priced and $5-$8000 cheaper than anyone else. She called me a week later and said that she wants to get some of this stuff started what else can I do about taking off some of the items to drop the price so I did more generous than I should have. Also all flooring was coming out because we install new vinyl and carpet so just because they're worth of stuff dripped on flooring did not matter because they were being removed which anyone can see that. That goes to show you that you cannot please everyone I thought from my heart I had a good experience with her even a very nice conversation before her riding the final payment that day we did perform walk-through prior to flooring I did mention to her that if there's any scratches on anything after flooring being put in and please contact me and we will do a final touch up I spoke with my floor guys in they said everything was perfect there was no touch of needed they ask homeowner if she needed me to come back out for anything she said no everything looks great. Me personally I should have kept my price the same if I knew that my courteous and having a good heart to help someone was taking advantage of I would never signed anything to a lower price. Sorry we could not have please this woman no matter how hard we tried .anyone would like to go to my reviews and see that we don't have this problem nor do we tolerate this kind of activity with this company..

I was very happy with the efficiency of all work completed. Both men were punctual & courteous. I will definitely use QWR again when needed!
Description of Work: Jason came to my home the day I called him to see what I needed done - fence boards needed to be properly reattached, trim around shower needed to be replaced, and baseboards around back door needed to be replaced due to water damage. He texted me the same afternoon with an estimate & time he could send someone out. Two days later , Jimmy came & completed all tasks including helping me with items that needed to go in my attic. I was very impressed with the timely & efficient manner in which QWR handled everything!!

He was punctual actually arrived early!!!! Finished the job in much less time than originally predicted. He was professional while at the same time was friendly and explained everything he was doing. Cleaned up all areas he worked in. He even used his ladder and replaced batteries in a remote window blind we couldn't reach :) Spoke with him about future projects.
Description of Work: Painted areas of our ceiling where we had water damage. Replaced ceiling tiles in another area of the house. Did some spackling work also.

My husband and I began this journey of course discussing prices with different contractors. We had about 3 other contractor s that were very expensive. By word of mouth my husband contacted Jason of QWR Services. My husband met with Jason and he was by far the most economical price. He assured us that it would take him 10 days to complete the all the painting in our house. Of course I was skeptical- 10 days alone, yeah who could do that especially if he could only work around our busy schedule. My husband told me that he had a good feeling about Jason ( his honesty and integrity ). He trusted him. Trusted him so much that my husband gave Jason a key to our home so he could finish his work. I asked him why did he feel that way he said because Jason explained why the other contractors were "over quoting" us. They over estimated the size of the rooms along with painting materials. Jason discussed with him in details of his plans to paint one room at a time, he suggested color schemes, and also gave us his discount for the paint. My husband simply told Jason if you can "wow" my wife then you have the job. After work, I came home to a stunning two-toned (green) dining room. It was immaculate. The painting was done with perfection. As I continued to watch him paint I noticed Jason did not need the blue painters tape that most painters use to make sure there aren't any mistakes instead Jason used his eye of perfection and a steady hand. I was then wowed. Needless to say Jason continued to to finish painting the entire house, moving furniture and placing it back in its originality. As a matter of fact Jason impressed my next door neighbors. They too will be soliciting his services for interior painting.
