The 2 man crew who did my house were very nice men. They showed up timely and worked all day as you would expect. They did however leave their tools all over the ground each night, and for several years I would find nails in the landscaping. Some of my issues with the actual job they did: 1. They apparently just butted the siding up rather than have a slight overlap. I dont know if they did that with each piece or just some. But I can see several places were that was the case. And they had cases of siding left over, so it wasnt because they ran out. If water gets behind the siding I dont think that could be fixed easily. 2. When they rehung the gutters they hung them level and in some places above the roof line. Because of the gutters being level, we have had quite a mosquito problem since the water doesnt all drain out now. Standing water equals mosquitoes. 3. On the window sills they sawed off the metal pegs that held the window screens in place rather than cut holes thru the siding. Now there is no way to hold the screens in place. 4. When installing the cut outs for the faucets they placed them in such a way that with one of them you cannot attached the hose by hand you have to use channel locks. The faucet is at the bottom so there isnt enough clearance to even turn it with your fingers. 5. I asked NUMEROUS times for a warranty on their work. They kept giving me one for the siding, nothing for their work. They insisted that all I had to do was call. Well the last time I spoke to Mike Hayes, he finally returned my call after I sent a mean letter, he told me about how big and busy they were getting so quality control wasnt what it used to be. That explained why they cant/wont give a gaurantee on their work. I have other items, but I believe that this gives a general picture. My father also had them do the fascia and chimney at this house and is also still waiting on them to come and fix what they promised they would. I did not do enough homework into this company as I should have. I believed that anyone who had been in business for over 40 years, must be okay. But all the items that I have issue with are basic things. The crew I had was Mike Hayes own son, and someone name Gary who I believe said he had been with Mike for almost 20 years. I think I could understand if the items were really technical or complicated, or these were brand new employees in training, but that was clealy not the case. Really just plain sloppy.
