GE Factory Service

This is a long story so bear with me. Short version is don't do business with these clowns. About 3 years ago, our GE stove failed due to a bad logic board. I scheduled a repair through these guys. We had to wait a week for a time that wouldn't require us (both teachers) to be home half a day or more during the week. We were scheduled for a window 8-12 on a Saturday morning. At 11, the GE office called, said the repairman was sick, and cancelled the call. I get being sick, but when I'm sick I have to find someone else to cover my classes. However, what was really annoying was that the office staff announced that he would be coming the following Wednesday and I should prepare to be there all day. I told them I can't do that at this short notice. I teach college. I can't tell my students there is no school. I found someone else to do the repair. It appears that he showed up anyway, on that Wednesday. I was, of course, not home. The same stove had the same problem yesterday. I again scheduled a repair with GE. I had a window from 1-5. At 3, he shows up at my house and announces that he will not do any repairs and the reason why is all "in the notes." After a couple of hours on the phone with GE customer service, I began to piece together a story. When I wasn't there on the Wednesday that he ordered me to be there, he went back to his boss and told a story about how he felt "threatened." By an empty house. Right. They also claimed to GE that I had not paid for parts. For a repair that never happened. Roger that. What I surmise is that he lied to his boss to get me on the "no service" list because he was put out that I wasn't there as ordered, to service his needs. If he felt "threatened," then why did he come to my door and ring my bell yesterday? Do you do that when at a place where you feel threatened? This was just an act of petty revenge. Truth be told, I suspect it is just this one guy. But you are as likely as me to get him for your service. Luck of the draw. And upper management appears disinclined to do anything about him. Do not use these people. There are plenty of other companies highly rated, like Lanny Adams. Just don't fool with GE.
