Excellent work and pricing were very reasonable. Jim and his crew were awesome. They replaced my back fence, and the work was done very professionally and in a timely manner. I would most definitely recommend this company for a fence.

Jim and his crew did an amazing job transforming our backyard of overgrown weeds and bushes into a beautiful, usable outdoor living space. At first the job was just to remove weeds, trimming bushes and like work. However it became obvious he and crew could do much more. Final job included above work, plus old fencing removal and complete fence rebuild including heavy gate, sod installation, and brick patio installation ( I already had the bricks ). In addition we had Jim bring in and lay decorative rock along one section for a stone pathway. Now my wife and I have a nice green lawn, secure fence, and backyard patio to use , relax and enjoy. Project cost was very reasonable considering all work done. But I am convinced the money was very well spent and has added much value to our property. Job very well done !

Jim was the only person during the quoting process for my sod and irrigation project that actually turned on the sprinkler system I had to see what was needed to extend it to the backyard. In doing so he was able to locate a leak for me and turn into an opportunity!

Great job by Jim and his crew. This is the second job they have done for me. The pricing is very competitive. They used screws instead of nails which is great for the longevity of the fence.

They solved the problem. My grass had died and seed wasn't growing. I assumed it was shade as neighbor's tress now shaded most of my yard. But the cause was water runoff damage. They put in French drains and higher-level sod. It is now doing well, and we are well please. I would recommend Augusta Design for their excellent work but most of all for their expertise.

When you do the job and you have warranty work you can not ignore it.

The company showed to my home and offered fence service when the inquiry was for land scaling service. It actually worked out because I needed both. After planning the fence design and three follow on visits to my home for measuring I paid the company a $5,000 deposit. After paying the deposit, communication from the company temporarily stopped and the owner failed to show for appointments to start the project. I finally got in contact with the owner who continued to make excuses for not showing. Finally I told the owner that I was no longer comfortable with his service and we agreed to cancel the job. I then had to drive to meet him for my $5,000 refund vice him bringing it back to my home where he picked it up from. Interactions with this company resulted in a full 2 weeks of my time wasted when I could have gone with another company who I told that I no longer needed service after agreeing to go with Augusta Land Design. If this happened to me, I am sure it may be happening to others also. Very disappointed with this experience and I am still stuck looking for a fence pro when the fence should have already been installed for weeks now. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Our project included a lot of drain trenches, 14 pallets of sod, 138 cubic yards of mulch and 70+ bushes and trees and installing an irrigation system. We could not be happier. The entire crew did a great job. Jim Hillis is wonderful with assessing what will work in every area of the yard. We would recommend his company and give 10 stars if we could. People have stopped when we are outside and tell us how great our yard looks.

Augusta Land Design installed an irrigation system along with laying sod for our entire front and back yard. We were extremely pleased with the attention to detail paid to all aspects of this large project and do highly recommend this company without reservation.

Job completed on schedule. Some sod was laid over drain trenches that wasn't compacted, resulting in obvious depressions in sod. After 3 weeks a couple of pieces of sod are brown.

Mr. Hillis and his crew were outstanding. From our initial meeting, Mr. Hillis took his time in surveying and evaluating our yard. My yard use to flood after a hard rain with standing water that was almost thigh deep. Mr. Hillis took on this challenge when others were very reluctant in doing. Mr Hillis quoted what my wife and I thought was a fair price. The job that Augusta Land Design performed far exceeded my wife and I expectations. What my wife and I appreciate most about our experience with Mr. Hillis was truthfulness and honest. He is a man of his word. I wish I could upload the pictures before he fixed my yard after it rained and now that it rained hard yesterday. 180 degree difference. You will not go wrong in hiring Augusta Land Design.

We saw all the good reviews for Augusta Land design on Home Advisor and thought this was our guy. Jim came out and gave us an estimate for our yard project consisting of fixing the existing irrigation system, some grading, sod install, and few other things. We verbally agreed on all the details and gave him a down payment of $8500. BIG mistake! He would show up 2-3 times a week, for a few hours at a time. After a couple weeks of nothing happening, we decided to write a contract to have a signed agreement on paper, because nothing was getting done, and he did not seem reliable. Well, that did not help either. Over a period of five weeks, he showed up maybe a total of 10 days and barely got anything done (our neighbors and nanny can testify to that). All the while, we did not bug him much understanding that it had been a very hot summer, and anytime we said something, we were so careful not to offend him. One day out of nowhere, he came packed up the tools that he had left in our backyard and left the job without saying a word; would not return calls or texts. Then a week later he sent us a letter and had the audacity of telling us that he has spent $6000 on labor and $4000 on equipment rental, and that he is over budget now, and we owe him money. At the end of letter, he wrote **I strongly feel that I cannot satisfy your standards and attention to detail** Basically, he is saying that he cannot do the job the way you want it. Now we are left with a yard that is in a worse shape than before; the things that he did do, have to be re-done; we lost the optimum time window for installing sod this year, and we are out $8500.

We had a bad drainage problem around the back patio. MR. Hillis came over assessed our situation, gave us an estimate, and completed the job ahead of schedule. He actually did more than we asked him to do. He put gravel in our flower beds at no extra cost. A very professional landscaper who really knows his stuff. I would hire MR. Hillis over any other landscaper in the Augusta area.

We had a HUGE muddy mess in our back yard from a leaking koi pond. It was so bad, we had to wear rubber boots and bathe our puppy every time he went out to play. We hired Jim Hillis (Augusta Land Design) to install a French and catch basins. He also brought in top soil, laid sod and graded the property so we no longer have a "swamp" in our back yard. It is absolutely beautiful now. We're confident that we won't have any additional drainage problems, but if we do, Jim guarantees his work. We are totally pleased with the owrk and will definitely hire Jim if we need any additional drainage work. Thank you Jim for a job very well done. Will definitely recommend Augusta Land Design

I wanted brick flower beds built for the front of my new home. I had Jim install sod at my property about a month prior (There were minor issues with that as well). I expressed to Jim how I wanted brick and stone work for a hardscape around the house. A week ago, Jim called me and asked if I had found a brick mason. I replied, no. Jim told me he had a guy he knew that could do masonry work. After giving him a deposit of $800 he said he would start the next morning. I wanted two brick beds, level with the brick that was on the house. At 11:00am the next day, when Jim showed, he started with two other men. When I returned home at 5pm that day, I found a very sloppy work site with brick work that was not level along with mortar all over the place. The design I requested was changed by his supposed mason with nothing but excuses why my plan could not be followed. Jim and the two other men left at around 6:30. I spent the next two hours looking at the mess in my front yard: uneven brick, mortar all over the brick and all over the grass. The next morning when he returned, I told him the work looked sloppy, not level, and that I was very unhappy with what his crew did to the front of my new home. Jim said "he would make it right". About an hour later, he rang my doorbell; I walked out to a bunch of smashed, broken brick, and piles of debris in the area's he and his crew worked. Absolutely stunned, I am looking at the front of my new home with piles of broken brick, debris everywhere with Jim asking to "settle-up" for the day. After saying I am not paying you anything, he insisted that he has to pay his crew and that he would be back in a few days with another mason to fix the job?? I would not recommend this business for any future landscaping projects. As a side note, I asked Jim before he started, does his mason have all the equipment to install brick. He said yes. They showed with a battery powered brick saw that was never used? I am very unhappy with the condition my home was left by Jim and his crew! I texted Jim later that day he left and told him not to return. I had to find another mason to correct this huge mess along with a cost to remove and replace the concrete trench he left behind.

Tim and his team do excellent work. He takes his time to ensure its done properly.
