Response from Admiral Steamer Carpet Cleaner
Would you please call our office at 706-564-2366 to resolve this matter that dates back to a water loss a year and 3 months ago! An I do recall the technician coming to pick up funds issued by Nationwide, being paid in cash short 500.00 and I never mentioned anything! Now a year later we're so horrible, come on lady!

Description of Work: Water damage due to freeze. I gave 1000.00 on the 8th of Jan. One month later some fans had dried out the villa and they had torn up the floor and some of the damaged sheetrock.. they asked for more money to complete the work. I gave them $8000,00 more. Two months later, I called and they said they neede $3500.00 fo finish. I gave it and that was the end. They won't return my calls and the villa is a complete mess. I have called Tudor Home improvements and after looking around they expect it to cost me more than the original insurance estimate because the little work that they did was terrible and will have to be redone. I have to pay for the resoration myself since i have given the insurance money to Admiral Steamer.

When I first contacted them, they let me know that they could help me with all of my contracting needs, stating, I would walk in and never even knowing that anything had happened. They had me give them $1000 at first, they started my tearing up the floor and the ceilings. Then they asked for $8000 to get more work done. They did come and do a little work, but not good work. The ceiling work looks like they did not know what they were doing. Then they said they ran out of money and they needed an additional $3500 to finish. They have taken my money and have not completed the work. They will now not answer my calls and avoid answering if I call from a number they know. They were very nice people and I believed what they were saying. I was taken to pay them from their friendliness. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: They were supposed to be repairing my floors and other areas in my home from water damage. They were supposed to hire contractors to help with all of the issues that I have had.

I called Admiral at the advice of a friend who had used them before saying they were wonderful. Not so much. The first time we scheduled an appointment, the man was over an hour late-they gave us a time frame between noon and two or something like that (it was a large time frame, and but I can't remember precisely as it has been a few months)-He showed up an hour 1 hr and 45 min after. He called saying he was running behind by 30 min. When he got there, his equipment broke-okay, no big deal. I'd only missed a half day of work at this point...He left and said he would call within the hour-I never heard back. So I called and the lady on the phone said that she would call back with an estimated time that they could return-she never did. The next day I called, no answer..the next day I called, FINALLY...an answer. Another appointment was scheduled. The lady ensured that they would "take care of me." (how about the compensation for my entire day's work since I had to take a vacation day or even a free cleaning?) Nope. No such luck. When the two boys got here to do my carpets, they barely spoke comprehensibly. They immediately went to work and it seemed very strange until I found out one of the boys was training (I say boys, they were maybe 18, it seemed). They were in my bedroom where I'd just had new carpet installed and said "Uh..ma'am...has this black spot always been there?" I said "No, you didn't notice a 2 in black spot in the middle of the carpet as soon as you walk in the door, did you?" And he said "Well, ma'am, I don't remember" (1 pt for being polite, I guess) Mind you, this carpet was installed just before Thanksgiving-it was BRAND NEW. So, instead of trying to get it out, he just ran his steamer over it repeatedly...to no avail. I said "Just forget it. I will get it out." So, their method of "taking care of me" was scotch-guarding my carpet....okay, carpet is 7 years old-in a rental home, at that. I was so peeved at this point, I just signed the paper and wanted them out of my house. After they left, I actually got down on the wet carpet with a can of Professional Spot Shot and a paper towel and the spot was gone in about 2 minutes. Needless to say, I have never called them to come to my home again and after he nearly ruined my carpet, made no valid attempt at fixing it, I was "taken care of" with a scotch guarding. I would never, EVER call this company back.
Description of Work: They steam cleaned, if you'd call it that, my carpet.

Well, I can see that nothing has changed with this company in 20+ years! I was moving into a new apartment that had not been cleaned after the previous resident moved out. When I made my appointment with Admiral Steamer, I explained that I was going to be in and out of the apartment untill I had to go to work late that afternoon so I could not be there for a "confirmation" phone call before they showed up to do the cleaning. But, I promised I would be there at the appointment time. Well, I got there on time and Admiral Steamer didn't show up. So, I called up to find out why they were late and must have talked to the same woman who was there 23 years later! LOL I explained again, that I could not sit there waiting for a phone call, but if they came out right away, I would wait now. I also told them to PLEASE stop at the manager's office to get the directions to my apartment. I was exhausted from trying to move alone, work an exhausting job, and trying to get this filthy apartment clean on moving day! This time I guess I transposed the apartment number when I called. So, supposedly they went to the wrong apartment. However, if they had followed my instructions and gone to the manager's office for directions as I had told them to do, they would have gone to the right apartment. Of course, if they had shone up the first time, they would have been at the right apartment. After waiting again, losing valuable move-in time, I called back, got the same rude person. I asked her why, after I had explained my situation to her a third time, they wouldn't follow instructions or be willing to work with a customer to get the job done. As with the customer 23 years later, I was verbally abused. Only I didn't just hang up. I let her have it back and am so glad after 23 years later, seeing that this company hasn't changed, to add my 2 cents worth to the reviews! I would rip out my carpet and live on the concrete before I would let this company into my home for any reason! Thanks for the opportunity to warn other potential customers!
Description of Work: Sine this happened 23 years ago, I am not sure of the exact date. I know it was 1986 and pretty sure it was in May; but, I had to put in a day, so I used the 1st since I don't remember that for sure. I was supposed to get my carpet in my new apartment cleaned.

I just called Admiral Steamer to set up an appointment and was told the office was closed. The woman who answered the phone was verbally abusive and rude. I called at 4:54 on a Wednesday afternoon. I asked the woman who answered the phone and identified herself as their answering service what time they closed; she told me they close at 5:00. I asked her to leave a message, provided her my full name, and told her that I wanted them to know I would NOT be doing business with them because they do not honor their posted hours. The woman became very nasty, yelled at me and told me that often times people need to leave their office early because they have personal issues to take care of, and that I need to get a life. I am absolutely flabbergasted at her response to me. The lack of professionalism and customer service and courtesy was unbelievable. In these economic times or any economic times for that matter, I don't believe anyone can afford to lose a customer. Stanly Steemer just lost one, and I will be telling everyone I know about this experience.
