Description of Work: We used XLI Contracting LLC to do some inside work to repair the work of another contractor.

Description of Work: We are using XLI Contracting but he hasn't finished the task yet. He put some tile down in the front entryway and he's going to replace some siding panels. He's repairing some termite damage around the garage door trim.

Description of Work: Several minor repairs including carpentry and painting.

Description of Work: We have used Stuart Maunders off and on since last year. He has continued to complete projects and also changed, repaired, etc various different items. We have found him very fair, strong work ethic, resourceful, respectful and good appearance. If he has to work into the evening or on a Sat or Sun afternoon to complete what he committed to complete - he doesn't hesitate. We will use him whenever needed and he can fit us into his schedule.

Description of Work: Excellent work performed at various times throughout most of 2012. Initially, Stuart was referred to us by a friend when we needed someone to repair flooring in our kitchen that had been damaged due to a leak.When discussing the repair, Stuart gave options on how to perform the repair. He gave the pros and cons for each option, and then gave his opinion on which one he thought was best. We were impressed with Stuarts work performance, ethics, and professionalism, and decided to hire him to paint our entire downstairs. One room was a bathroom that had been painted with textured paint that we hated. Stuart completely resurfaced the room to have smooth walls again.While painting, Stuart installed new faucets, lighting, etc. He would also fix small items he noticed that were a safety hazard. We then had Stuart put chair rail throughout the downstairs, and up the stairs to the end of the hallway. During this time period, we often left Stuart alone in the house without any concern, and never felt unsafe with him being around my children. During the remainder of the year, we continued to hire Stuart for other small jobs, including outdoor structures, replacing window sills, and installing doors. We also asked Stuart for advice on future projects, that we plan on him performing the work on, and felt he gave real thought and insight in his responses.

Description of Work: [NOTE the date above is a forced field - Stuart Maunders performed work for us off & on over much of 2011] My wife & I met Stuart by chance. Found him well spoken, understated, clean cut & knowledgeable. He was up front with what he was/was not confident in tackling. He completed varied projects for us off & on over several months: he designed & installed a unique ceiling situation for an entry porch; completed detailed interior trim work left undone by a previous contractor; installed restored interior plantation shutters; also completed a very tough trim-out for the teak flooring we had installed but was left without a finished trim completely around a curved stairwell. We have been soured and disgusted by how previous contractors have taken advantage of our more trusting & easy-like demeanor: The promises; the gtd this or that; payment for work only to later find it substandard.( the old "cut & cover routine.) That is the reason we subscribed to Angie's list. We we are very happy to see Stuart Maunders on Angie's List. If anyone deserves to be on this trusted list, it has to be Stuart. When I happened upon his name while looking for a plumber, I forced myself to stop & take the time to write this position statement about Stuart. We found him to be rather quiet & a good listener- very thorough & deliberate in his thought and verbal communication. Be prepared to review, review, review details with him. He is not a procrastinator - he is a thorough study of any project before he begins. When he purchases materials, he will tell you immediately if it was a little more or less than he had estimated. Be specific when communicating with Stuart. If you have a definite opinion about any aspect of the work you want him to perform, tell him - but know he is not just a 'yes sir/ma'am" - if he does not agree, he will tell you and he will explain how he sees it should be done, etc. Stuart was really just starting on his own when we initially had him work with us. He quickly corrected/change/improved his administrative/bookkeeping approach, again showing us he is very thorough study and is committed to high standards. He would re-do something if he did not think it was correct and would not run -up the project cost re-doing it. We found him to work when he says he will work. Drink or drugs were never a concern or even a consideration with Stuart and his work.. We even quickly reached the point where we were not at home much of the time he was working. Overall he was a fine, honest, diligent individual. In fact, we are waiting now for him to provide us a quote for another little project we have.

Description of Work: XLI Contracting LLC did interior painting of bedroom, bathroom, dining room, living room and kitchen, under cabinet lighting in the kitchen and outside repair of column on porch and fence repair.
