John is great to deal with! He removed my previous ceramic tile backsplash as the first step in my project and gave me a few weeks to have some electrical outlets moved. Once the electrical was updated, he came back and installed the new glass tile backsplash. John is an impeccable worker and it came out great! John is also a very pleasant person. He is super responsible and arrived on time all three days that he worked at my home.

The end result is attached, we love it. Would definitely hire him again, he was great to work with!!

Fantastic. Received several estimates and we interviewed many and we are proud to say that John was the right choice. What we liked most about John upon hiring him was that he worked by himself and he was accountable to us and himself only. He described to us what would occur and it went down exactly as he had prescribed. He was a professional, showed up when he said he would be here, and offered his advice and opinion… Recognizing that we had not done a major refurbish job before. John's demolition of our previous master bath was as clean as it could be in that type of work and there was no delay in getting the bathroom tiled after demolition. Honestly, I am not too sure why you would take your chances and hire anyone else. He's a nice guy. He's fair. And his work turned out to be above and beyond what we had expected. John arrived when he said he would....a date confirmed weeks earlier, with an unexpected Hurricane Matthew as well. The install went ahead of schedule, John is a true professional, and more than exceeded our expectations. His quotes are fair and accurate, he does a great job cleaning up as he worked. I WILL use him for our next install.

John gives a complete service. He demolished the bathroom. Then hung the new tile. He has a brilliant eye for details. He works alone, so he's there when he says he will arrive. He gave me advice on where to shop, much needed advice if you are a novice. He extremely busy, but worth the wait. He fair in his pricing. Remember you get what you pay for. I am very pleased. This is the third job John has done for me. As this point I don't think he needs any more reviews. I think I'll just say if you hire John, consider it the best choice hands down. No one does anywhere as good a job as him. Easy to get along with, excellent quality, fair price, shows up when he says he will, works with you. Nothing but good things to say about John. A rare quality these days.

John is one of those rare individuals who still takes pride in his work and in maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction. He is detailed oriented and a stickler for getting it right the first time. The work went extremely well, and he was engaged every day from project start to finish weekend included! The results are beautiful and worth every bit of the wait to get on his schedule. There are no hidden tricks, no shortcuts, no sub-contractors and most rare today...no money up-front, only when the job is done! Once you do business with John you will come back again and gladly refer him to others. He stands out amongst the rest and has earned the respect and admiration of many, myself included.

If you read reviews a common theme you will get with John is that he is worth the wait. John like his company name (name right there in the company) is a down to earth personable guy. There was no estimator, no subs, no finance or office manager; just John. We read the reviews full well knowing that we may be waiting a while until the work got started. He came out right away for the estimate and even showed up a second time on a weekend day to review some material choices but up front he was booked for a month and a half. We made the choice to patiently wait and see what so many others before us deemed high quality "artistry". Demo Day: He arrived on a Monday morning and spent the next two days to demo out the walls and prep the space for us. The time is important because he methodically took apart the shower in order to protect and preserve the existing features and kept the rest of our bathroom extremely clean for us to use while he was working. You don't feel like you entered into a construction site or a sandbox and he is extremely respectful of your home. He would layout walkways to use to avoid dirt and debris from getting into other parts of the house. This is often the most important part as it sets the tone with the customer who is going to have to live with a job site for the project length and he goes above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable. Build-out: We had some wood rot on our bench frame and some areas of concern that he had to address before laying out. In order to prevent any future mildew/mold stains and underneath problems he added an additional waterproofing membrane to secure the problem areas. Our shower had a lot of corners and small nooks that needed to be addressed. We also had an after demo problem with the walls and some furring strips not being flush with the cbs wall that needed work (which he did with no additional charge). He built two niches for us that were not standard so we did not buy a pre-fab niche. He custom made them. Tile work: This is what we waited for. Like I mentioned before he is very methodical and is a "measure twice cut once" kind of contractor. He's factored in potential problems and we ended up with a little extra material. The grout lines were perfect. The tile layout again not easy as the shower has many corners and nooks. We chose a bullnose and schluter strip combination for the trim work. We spoke many times and were given multiple different options (with picture examples) to make our decision on tile layout. We went vertical to expand the look of the space and went with a pebble accent on the floor and wall. View pictures as they express the quality of his work more than words. The work took two weeks to complete. I imagine it would've taken a little less than that had I not bothered him so much to just chat about life. His quality of work stands out in the numerous positive reviews. What makes John stand out above others for me is his personality. As I mentioned before his company name shows the personable nature of how he conducts business. He was extremely easy to talk to and would stop what he was doing and answer any questions you had during the process. I had the luxury of being around a lot so nothing went without discussion and I was in the know and able to make changes or contemplate the job as it went along. He explained his process and why he did things certain ways which helped to show the value and appreciate the amount of time he put into the work. I quoted "artistry" at the beginning of the review because it was discussed between John and I repeatedly. John is a master of his craft. Tile work is extremely scrutinized and there are a lot of contractors out there. There are a lot of bad ones out there. There are some good ones. There are even fewer that are in an exceptional category like John. It's too bad he enjoys doing what he does so much because he should be teaching it. He could really offer a lot to other contractors out there on not only the right way to tile but also the right way to run a business. He's everything you want out of a contractor from day one to day end. He was worth the wait and the cost and we have every intention on waiting for him again on our future tile projects which we've already discussed with him. Advice to the next Tile by John Perry customer who found my review useful: He likes e-mail communication. He has a phone and he did call me back but he works best via E-mail. I had daily and sometimes immediate return communication this way. For what you are going to get in his work, e-mail is a minute courtesy to offer to how he conducts business. John Perry is by far the most professional tile contractor you will ever deal with. We had a complicated design and tile but he took on the challenge with no problems. He explained every last detail that needed to be addressed. He even graciously worked around the unexpected birth of our baby while he was working on our bathroom job. He is a great overall person and terrific tile setter. I will definitely use John again.

John came and met me at the house and we discussed designing plans for all of the bathrooms. He gave me ideas and recommendations on how he could lay tile to make my rooms look bigger and brighter. I listened and he did just what he said he could do. I'm so happy with all of my areas. I even had him do the backsplash in the kitchen. It's beautiful! My master bathroom is still unders construction, but I'm happy with the hall bath, half bath and kitchen! I will keep you posted.

I first called John to come out and give me an estimate. He was very punctual. He gave me a quote that was competitive and after reviewing the work to be done I decided to use John. He gave me a start time every morning and he was always there on time. He was the only company who said I should have the concrete patio ground and sanded to ensure an even surface. After completing the grinding he carried by himself more than 2500 pounds of tile from the front of my house to the patio. John is very precise in the work he does and when he finished my patio it looks great. he cleaned up every day. John works by himself and he takes pride in his workmanship. I would not hesitate to recommend John to anyone wishing to have tile work done. Great job. thanks

He did an excellent job addressing issues with our floor and preparing the area for the porcelain tile installation. Carpeting and padding had to be removed as well as removing wood parquet in the foyer, plus old linoleum. Once that was done, he prepped the concrete for the tile installation, which involved not only cleaning the cement but leveling out the areas where it was not even. This involved considerable time. Once that was completed he did a perfect installation of our Italian porcelain wood-look tile using the most modern methods. It looks fantastic and we have receiving many complements on it. We love it and would definitely use John again. While he is very busy and we had to wait our turn for him to come and work on our house, it was worth the wait! We are very happy with our new living room -- it makes it feel like we have a new house!

Telephoned the provider to install Kitchen Backsplash Tiles and small area of 18"x34" of glass tiles in the bathroom. Left him detail message, I have tile, thin-set, grout, and would like the work performed soon. I realize this would be about a 1 day job for him and he could be on a large job at the moment. Two days later I had not heard back from him so I called a second time carefully stating my phone number twice. Nada, nothing, no response at all. Professional people usually have the courtesy to telephone and say I don't service your area, I'm on a big job and can't get to you for at least a month, I have too much work right now and not taking any more, my mother is in the hospital, something, anything! So this guy is not as "good" as others have stated.

Excellent! He was on time, did great work, cleans up when finished - all the things you want a good professional contractor to do. He did a very nice job of matching up to our existing tile which was laid on angle and not straight.

John did an excellent job installing porcelain tile throughout our 3 car garage. John was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. We definitely plan on John continuing to work on projects throughout the house. We highly recommend John!

John is a professional. He is very experienced, skilled, meticulous and works very hard to please the customer. What I liked most about him is that he always communicated with me to confirm the design, pattern, and expectation. He is also very easy to work with in that he will work around any customizations and special requests that I had. Best of all, he finished in a timely manner as promised! His price is not the cheapest but he is well worth it.
