Tile by John Perry

John is master tile installer and his work shows that. He took my job after I was left stranded by another tile company that never showed up (they are not on Anglie's List). To say the least John is one the most professional contractors I have ever worked with in South Florida. He came out on time for his job site review and sent the estimate in less than 24 hours. His labor pricing was very competitive and reasonable given the scope of the work. I purchased all the materials for the job (tile, grout, leveling cement) however John was more than ok with securing any additional work materials needed at a reasonable cost. My job was a retile of my living room. The job started with grinding down and leveling the base floor. The machine used was not very noisy and not dusty. What a relief! Once done John worked extra hard to get the floor level. This was a 2 day process due to the drying time and complexity. My excitement began once he started to position and lay down the all new tile. I chose ceramic tile that looks like wood. The tile required a unique pattern and spacing. John lined up the tile perfectly and leveled them with countless spacers as each was positioned. All the cutting was done outside and he did a great job to protect the job site from debris. Once all the tile was positioned, he grouted the tile on the last day. The overall tile laying time was just over 2 days. John was keen on making sure that I was ok with the work and did a great job with keeping me updated on the process. Each day he texted me to let me know when he was arriving and worked very long days. I was amazed the amount of time in a day he was willing to work to get the job done. We really need more contractors with the work ethic like John. I am so happy with the outcome. John really is an artist that you will never regret using for your tile job.

We really need something higher than an "A" for contractors like John. He is intelligent, reliable, resourceful and a complete master of his craft. He quotes; he discusses the project with you; gives you the range of options that only a total professional can; and then HE does the work--no salesmen, no agents, no "designers" involved. In our case, I had stopped a vinyl flooring job in the bedroom, because in some places the planks had sharp edges that could cut someone's foot. I thought the problem was the material, but John took one look and showed me how the previous installer had not fit the pieces together correctly. He was able to remove the planking and lay it properly without wasting any material. Next was the bathroom: As part of his quote, he calculated the amount of tile and edging we would need--he came up with everything else. The project could not have gone more smoothly, or ended up with a better result..

I wish I could give John more than an A rating. Great guy, fantastic work. He was a delight to have in my home and his work is beyond the best. Highly recommend.

John is an extremely talented tile person. My house was built in the 1970's and the floor wasn't level; the walls were not plum or square but he was able to make everything look perfect. He also gave us great advice on the aesthetic aspects of how the tile was placed. The way in which he laid out the shower wall tiles looks better than I've seen in architectural magazines. All of his work is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. John also kept the area clean. I can't say enough good things about John and his work. He is a very personable guy as well. I had to wait for him over 4 months but believe me it was well worth the wait!!

John did a great job!! It was a full two day job with a lot of intricate glass tile detail work. He was punctual, professional and a skilled craftsman. I would hire again, and have already recommended him to others.

John is absolutely second to none and has our utmost respect for his professionalism, communication, and overall attention to detail! Over the course of two years, John has completed three different bathrooms for us, which included varying levels of demolition, floor, shower and decorative tiling. His precision and attention to detail simply cannot be matched and we were left with gorgeous products that were exactly what we had envisioned. If you are even the slightest bit indecisive, John will guide you through the process and provide suggestions as to what options you have and how each option will impact the project. He takes his time, keeps extremely open levels of communication and will ensure customers are pleased with the final product.

John completed an amazing job on our single family home bathroom remodel. He did all the wall tear out work, removal of bathtub, sink and toilet. He then guided us through the entire process of the remodel. He re-installed wall board and sheetrock and then did a wonderful job installing our new tile. Our project was challenging, in that we had a very specific design in mind that involved a decorative marble strip across the center of the room and floor to ceiling diagonal tile design. It was not a simple design to replicate, but he did it and got it precisely how we were hoping for. He was very accommodating and helpful during the entire process, and truly dedicated to us as clients. John is a true professional and treats his clients with care and priority.

I contacted John Perry by e-mail when it became clear glass tile back splash was a more involved process than ceramic tile and my handyman was not up to the task. John responded within 24 hours and came within the week (after finishing another job) to give me an estimate. He said it would be at least two weeks before he would be able to handle my job and he kept to his word. John is prompt, personable and knowledgeable; his work is meticulous. John has a very sharp eye for detail and design. My back splash looks fabulous. I highly recommend John.

John was a careful and accurate worker. He did not cut corners or try to shortcut anything. His work is flawless and well worth the cost. He kept the work space as clean as possible and did not leave any debris or mess after the job was completed. He has jobs booked in advance, but is worth waiting for to do the work.

John repaired about a dozen tiles that had come loose. When I initially contacted him by phone, his voice mail directed any new inquiries to his email. My repair did not feel like a big emergency to me, so I wasn't too fazed by this. I hadn't heard from him after a day, but patiently waited, and he called me back the next. The delay had me a little concerned about his responsiveness, but he assured me over the phone that when actively working on a job, he is absolutely available to be reached by phone, and he was. He came to my house on my next day off, and was punctual. He was friendly and answered all of my questions to full satisfaction. He explained how the job would go and gave me a quote which was based on estimated time of work at his rate, which I thought was reasonable. Since the job was small, he didn't charge me for the materials (tile paste and grout). Based on the stellar reviews, I decided to hire him on the spot. One of the best things about working with John was that he figured out how to do the job with the least inconvenience to me. I work rotating shifts and having someone working in my house for 6 hours is a little inconvenient. So after I hired him on that initial visit, he had a great plan; he could cut out the bad tiles right there, go home and scrape off the old paste at his house, then return in two days to install. Fantastic! Sold, sold, and sold! At that moment I was really happy that I had decided to hire him! He removed the tiles, and carefully cleaned all the dust and debris which I really appreciated. A couple days later he showed up at the time promised to install the tiles. He ran over to Hope Depot to get the correct grout to match, returned, and finished the job. He left me the box of leftover ready-to-be-mixed grout (which he didn't charge me for). Tiles are now solid, and grout actually matched very well. Based on the time he spent at my house actively working and knowing he did some more work at home, I think the time he quoted me was honest. I am thrilled with my experience with John and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. Some may be off put by the initial contact process, but when he explained why he does it that way, he has some valid reasons. The "B" in my responsiveness was only because the initial email process seemed a little unusual, and caused me some concern at first. Besides, if I gave him straight As, you wouldn't believe me! So be patient, you won't regret it.

John showed great attention to detail installing our tile (e.g., insuring the wall was flat, making sure the tile layout was symmetrical, etc.) He was very thorough and professional explaining what he needed to do and the different options we had. He quoted us a day rate for the job that was very fair. He communicated exclusively by email, which could be a little slower, but that also made it easier to communicate outside normal business hours.

John did tile work on 4 of our bedrooms. The price was right, the quality was great, and he was just a really nice guy. He is very good at what he does and we were very lucky to find him. I would not hesitate to use him again!

He was on time for the estimate. We looked on line for tile, John picked the perfect one at Floor and Decor. He measured for the tile that was needed. That was a Thursday, and he did the job on Tuesday. We purchased the tile and he took care of everything else. Everything was perfect. He left the kitchens as clean as it was before he started. He is a true professional, and I will use him again.

Excellent. John installed kitchen backsplash and replaced a couple of porcelain tiles on the landing that needed repair. John is a meticulous worker and is highly recommended.

John did a great job and we are very pleased with the results. I had 3 companies initially come out to look at the job and he was the only one that took the time to really examine the job and give me an appropriate recommendation. He was on time every day and kept everything clean as he went. He did everything he said he would do and charged a reasonable price. We were very happy with the work and have already been recommending him to people we know.

John did a beautiful job with our marble backsplash. He is very detailed oriented, reasonably priced, and timely.

John is so busy that we had difficulty getting on his schedule at first. Once we got it scheduled John finished the job in about 3 days. He was prompt and tidy. We are very happy with John's work, especially some of the challenging cuts he had to make around the curved tub. And the cost was about 1/3 of what a contractor quoted. We will definately use John for any future tile work.

John Perry is Excellent! I have had John Perry replace an entire floor with tile work several years ago and I can not be any happier with both his workmanship or service. I have had many compliments over the years on his work and his diligence to make the job perfect! I recently had asked him to provide a quote for additional work and he made recommendations that saved me the cost! I could not have found a better professional in his field! I'll be considering him again for future projects too! Definitely worth the wait since he has an extensive client list!

I contacted John via email as he requests in his ad and sent him photos and what I needed to be done. It was not a really big job but to replace the bathroom tiles and clean the grout in the entire house. He responded 4 hours later and stated that he is completely BOOKED for the next 3-4 months and is not taking any new clients... So it is July 5th, don't waste your time contacting him until October-November. "Thanks for contacting me regarding your tile job. Unfortunately, at the present time, I am not taking on any new clients. My schedule is booked up for the next 3-4 months. Regards, John Perry"

I sent an email to John describing the job which needed to be done, and he responded within four hours. He made an appointment to come to the house and provided a written estimate. He indicated that the job would take one and a half days and that he had a cancellation for a job that was to start the next day, so he was available to start the next day. He showed up on time both days. He did a complete and thorough job. When he left at the end of each day's work, the site was clean and tidy. I was extremely pleased with the job that he did. When he left, the floor was as good as new. I found his price to be reasonable for the work he did.
