The Appliance Doctor

My full washer was leaking water from the bottom. He came out and looked at it today. He could not find the leak, so after he left, I did another load to the washer. It did not leak, but it stopped working. A connection became loose. I called them out and they were able to come right out free of charge. I also have a 30 day warrenty if anything were to go wrong. They were prompt, courteous, and he knew what he was doing.

Very prompt and Rob quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem.

Did not do the work. I called and was put on hold for 10 minutes this morning. Finally hung up.

My Frigidaire dryer was purchased new from Home Depot 7 months ago. Recently it quit heating so it wouldn't dry my clothes. I spent 2 days trying to contact the manufacture's warranty repair companies in Georgia and couldn't get one to answer the phone. So, I called The Appliance Doctor....Rodney came out, on time, the next day and quickly diagnosed it as a faulty heating element...then he spent 30 minutes on the internet and phone trying to find someone to honor the warranty. He had as much luck as me....but, I really appreciated the effort. Anyway, he ordered the part and a week later fixed my machine. Thanks, Rodney. I will definitely call The Appliance Doctor if anything else goes wrong.

The technician was professional, knowledgeable and punctual. Very friendly. Would use them again.

They came out quickly. Had to order a part and told us it would be in a few days. It came in when they said and they came out within two days and installed it.

I need to separate out the review into two parts. First the good: Chris represented Appliance Doctor very well. Nice, friendly and professional. He was prompt with appointments and went out of his way to diagnose the problem. There was a small issue with the wrong part being ordered, but he came to my house and talked to me in person about it, which I appreciated. If I based my review on just the diagnosis and repair, Chris would have earned Appliance Doctor an A. However, the reason Appliance Doctor does not get an A from me in this review has to do with appointment setters and office staff. My first contact with the company was with a woman who was very sarcastic with me. I commented about my husband having repaired this range in the past and she made what I thought was a rude remark about it. This range is 17 years old and notoriously repair-prone. My husband did a fine job replacing bad components and those repairs lasted for years. It's not his fault Jenn Aire made a lemon. My second phone contact with the company was the Monday Chris was supposed to come with the part and do the repair. When he did not call or show up within the appointment window, I called the office to inquire. Now keep in mind, Chris and I stood in my kitchen while he was on the phone with the scheduler and discussed no less than three times the time and date of the next appointment, and I wrote it down on the receipt he gave me. But when I called, the person who answered the phone at first insisted I was wrong about the date and it was to be the following day, a Tuesday. After I explained to her the circumstances of how I knew it was to be Monday and not Tuesday she did finally seem a little friendlier. So I'm giving office staff a C for professionalism. They need to understand they are the first contact people have with Appliance Doctor. Sarcastic, snide remarks about past DIY repairs, erroneous appointment scheduling and debates about an appointment time do not reflect well on the company. However, Chris's professionalism and friendliness average this grade to a B.

The initial contact was via Whirlpool customer service. Whirlpool told me the Appliance Dr. would be out between 8-12 a week after my contact date. I did not receive any call from Appliance Dr.to confirm the appointment until the day before the service. When they called they gave me a new window of 11-3 meaning I had to rearrange my schedule or reschedule them. When asked about the reschedule and lack of communication they said they only got the information on the 13th - point of good customer service is I should have been contacted then to confirm my appointment not the day before. I was surprised with all the office staff they have that this wasn't handled better. The service tech they sent, Corey, was, however, terrific! He answered any questions I had, was thorough and cleaned up afterwards. I would recommend the services to others.

A+++++ experience with Martin from The Appliance Doctor. I will call them in future and I recommend their services. Wednesday 9/18/13, I was able to get an appointment within 48 hours. Martin called to let me know he would arrive shortly. He was professional, prompt, and polite; I felt comfortable having him in my home. He completed the repair efficiently and cleaned up the area. The dryer appears to be functioning correctly after a brief test. Martin graciously accepted my coupon even though he wasn't familiar with it; I was charged a fair price.

I have used him probably three times in the past year and they're great.

Looking for someone to service my top freezer Amana refrigerator

The service tech, Shawn, arrived as scheduled to look at my refrigerator, which was not cooling anymore although the freezer was still working. He, correctly as it turned out, diagnosed a frozen pipe caused by the bottom freezer door having been left ajar for several hours. He recommended turning the appliance off for 24 hours to thaw and dry out the pipe, and adjusted the refrigerator so that the doors would swing shut more easily. Shawn was prompt, courteous, and an excellent diagnostician (25 years with The Appliance Doctor!). I am very pleased with this company's service and will use them again.

I called this company because I thought there was a problem with the water dispenser in my refrigerator. Turns out it wasn't a problem. There was air in the line because I had changed the filter. He explained to me about running 8-10 glasses of water after changing the filter to clear the air in the line. He did fix a problem with the cover not going on the bottom of the refrigerator. He gave me several maintenance tips. He was on time, and he was professional. He called before he came. I wanted him to look at something on the back of the refrigerator but expressed concern about scratching the hardwood floor. He went out to his truck to get a floor protector. Very patient and willing to answer questions. I would use them again.

It took 2-3 days (not counting weekend) to get an appointment for 1-5. The technician called before coming and arrived early - to my benefit. He diagnosed and replaced my oven's ignitor and estimated the cost of the dishwasher repair (nonworking detergent box). I chose not to have him explore this issue because of estimated cost. I used my $20.00 Angie coupon for payment, reducing my bill to about $200. Technician was pleasant and competent.

They were awesome, reasonably priced, and punctual. I think it's a whole staff of European folks and they were just very professional. They came out multiple times to fix a bunch of stuff, from washer to refrigerator to dishwasher.

He also showed me how to clean out the area in the bottom of the dryer to avoid a buildup of lint. Thankfully he did this for me this time and there was a lot of lint and some of it had burned areas so clearly there was a safety issue that he also eliminated. I was pleased to find out he stocked the element on his truck and the repair was done quickly. I think a labor charge of $50 on top of an $ 87+ service call is high but overall I am satisfied. Worst part was I forgot to give him the $20 off coupon available by being an Angie's List customer..drat.

It went well, and efficient as it should have gone. The technician was knowledgeable about the dryer and had it fixed quickly once he pinpointed the problem.

Technician came to my house, but the motor issue wouldn't repeat (which he said happens all the time). He talked with me about the nature of the noise coming from the motor and explained what different noises meant.

They are very professional, extremely knowledgeable and totally service oriented.

I thought they were very good, and they responded promptly. The technician knew what he was doing, he was well trained, and professional. The prices are reasonable and you can have confidence in the work. warranty. I'd recommend them.

This repair was simple because of Keith. He is so knowledgable and competent. I could not be happier!
