Not well, service guy came out to tell us that we're were using too much detergent, and that's why it leaked, thanks! We did use less detergent, but guess what, still leaked! Came out the 2nd time, because, well, it still leaked, spent an hour, then had to order the part, the seal, around the leaking door, as we told them via phone and in person visit. So 3rd visit to fit the seal, guess what, no more leaks, thanks! But, the washer now sounds like a Mac Truck, more nosey than before! I am sure if they came out again, it would be just less detergent! Thanks for little to nothing!
Description of Work: Samsung Washer was leaking, we suspected it was the door seal.

The technician called ahead and was right on time for the period promised by the dispatcher. The work was done quickly but with attention to detail. I plan to call for this technician next time we need help.
Description of Work: Called them for a dishwasher that was would not drain out the water. The technician solved the issue quickly by unclogging the drain pipe and confirmed that water was draining correctly. He also resolved a minor leak issue by re-positioning a seal. We also had an issue with a clothes washer that would not perform the spin cycle. He suggested that it was a clogged drain filter. He cleared it by draining water first into a basin and then cleaned the filter. He ran the cycle and stayed to confirm all was working correctly.

Fixed both. I'm very happy. They were very courteous, and they stand by their work. (1) The wine fridge was fixed fairly easily and for less than what others had estimated. Wish I had called them originally because I kept the fridge but used it to store baking sheets. Yay - wine fridge again!! (2) After they fixed my refrigerator, it began acting up again before the 30 day warranty. They came out two more times, which might sound annoying, but there was no additional charge for the extra parts or labor. It is humming along and in great shape. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: My KitchenAid built-in fridge was rattling and had stopped maintaining the temperature. While they were coming out, I asked them to look at my ULine wine fridge, which others had told me was not worth fixing.

During the initial visit the Technician was polite and professional. I paid to order both Gaskets to have them replaced in about a week since we were closing during the first week of October on our home. We were the sellers. There were three problems with the actual install. First, upon inspection after replacement it appeared to me that the Tub Gasket had not been replaced at all as it was still too long on the left lower side and sticking under the Door Gasket. I called the company to ask why the Tub Gasket wasn't replaced as that is what I paid for. After a couple of calls by me the Technician returned my call. I simply asked why the Door Gasket wasn't replaced and the Technician immediately assumed I was attacking his integrity and proceeded to inform me of such quite abrasively. Second, I wasn't able to verify that the Tub Gasket was replaced as the Technician indicated he'd thrown both gaskets away in the Trash Containers in the Garage. We'd closed on the home that afternoon and I was unable to re-enter the home we'd just sold. Therefore, I am going to assume he'd actually replaced them. Third problem is that despite already knowing what the original problem was with the Gaskets the Technician replaced them exactly as they were prior without trimming the excess on the lower left side setting the Dishwasher up for a repeat failure. The entire conversation was one of a failed customer interaction. Both I and the Technician were quite angry. He at me for questioning his integrity, which wasn't at all why I called. And I at the Technician for his complete unprofessional behavior and customer skills. Bottom Line: =========== 1) Did the Technician perform the work as requested: Yes 2) Did the Dishwasher leak after the repair: No, and will not for a good while I am sure. Nonetheless, a reoccurring failure is absolutely inevitable given the way the gaskets are installed. 3) Would you recommend this company to any friends and family: Absolutely not, this Technician needs retraining on good customer service. I would never ever want to expose friend or family to this sort of treatment when the Technician is ever questioned about what he takes the questioning as an attack on his precious integrity.
Description of Work: Our Frigidaire Dishwasher was leaking on the lower left side of the front door. This was discovered during a home inspection as a part of the sale of our home. The Technician discovered that the Tub Gasket was too long and was partially under the Door Gasket raising it up causing the water to leak through during the wash and rinse cycle. I ordered gaskets from this company to have the Technician replace both so that the door would leak no further.

First service person did nothing except tell me to clean my washer and have my dryer ducts clean. When that didn't fix the problem, I called again and they sent someone else out who replaced a part. The price was my co-pay of my American Home Shield insurance so I'm not sure what the real cost was.

The technician arrived on time and quickly began to diagnose the issue with my washing machine. Within 10 minutes he informed me that he issue was with one of two parts or potentially both parts. He gave me quotes for the replacing just one of the parts and for if he had to replace both parts. He was very honest and told me that I could probably find a new washing machine for close to what it would take to do the least expensive of the repair options. We did decide to buy a new washer for a little more than the least expensive repair option, but we now have a new washer with a warranty. We have used The Appliance Doctor in the past and will continue to use them as long as they have the same level of service and honesty in the future.

I attempted to have my LG washer repaired over a week and a half ago. The tech showed up on a Monday and diagnosed it with 2 possible bad parts. He said he needed to call LG to confirm or something... 2 days later the tech calls and says he will order both parts and only charge us for what part is used. The tech also advises parts could take 4-7 business days to arrive. Friday of that week. No updates. So I call and office informs me that my appointment has been scheduled for Monday of the next week. They said I was called about the appointment scheduling which I was not. The wife and I re-worked our schedules to be available and was informed that both parts were in and the tech would have them on Monday. Monday, tech shows up with 1 part. The part he has does not fix the problem. He assures us he ordered the part it was just a few days behind. Frustrated I call the office and they inform me that the tech has lied to me and has not ordered the 2nd part like he promised he would and like he said he had done! Office informs me the part will take 5-7 business days to arrive. I find that to be unacceptable and ask for the part number. I quickly find the part at a different website and order the part and overnight it. Even with $50 in overnight shipping, it was still cheaper than Appliance Doctor price quote by $100. I attempted to then have tech come out to install the part on Tuesday AM/PM or Wednesday AM. I was quickly informed they were completely full and couldn't help until Wednesday PM even though the delay was purely generated and extended because of their tech lying about a part. I got home tonight, pulled up a youtube video and within an hour had changed the part myself and had a working washer.

It went well from my first call to the office. It was a Friday morning. Because it's peak A/C season, there was no room in the schedule until the following Monday. I hesitated thinking, "Wow... a whole weekend without a refrigerator. How will I survive without Half and Half for my coffee?" The phone rep must be familiar with the dead silence on my end, so she suggested I tentatively schedule for Monday and call around to see if anyone else could fit me in sooner. I called 2 other companies who couldn't do any better than Monday. In fact, one of them couldn't get to me until the middle of the following week. I called The Appliance Doctor back and confirmed. Kevin showed up well within the 8a-12p window and quickly identified the problem. Unfortunately he had to order the part and couldn't be back until Wednesday. Oh well. I figured at least 3/4 of the world's population manage to live without refrigeration so I could make it another 2 days. Kevin made sure I would be 1st on his route and he lived up to his word. He was here at 8a with his professional, friendly demeanor. He quickly fixed the fridge and I was off to work at a reasonable hour.

Service Tech Shawn was prompt, professional, and honest. Right away he knew the issue and further explained that if he attempted to make the needed repair we would more than likely have to buy a new cook top. The burners had oxidized and are locked into place. If he tried to make the repair it would broken loose the burner and we would have to buy a new unit, he explained this in great detail and left the option up to us but he really recommended leaving well enough alone since we could still use 3 of the 4 burners and the fourth if we lit manually. I'm sure many techs would have jumped in and cost us more than a service call. While he was there he did try a few things from the top side to get it working, none of which did as he suspected and had previously explained. Not only will I call on Appliance Doctor again, I am asking for Shawn.

My dish washer suddenly stopped draining. The tub was full of dirty water. At 9:00 AM I called the Appliance Doctor because I had used this company twice before (refrigerator and dishwasher.) Luck was with me and a technician was able to come immediately. Kevin determined that though the filter was in place and clean, the drain line had become clogged with material that had slipped past the filter. By 11:00 AM he was done and my dishwasher was back cleaning dishes. Could I have cleared the clog myself? Possibly after several days of tinkering. Possibly not. I was quite happy to pay for the service call and minimum labor charge. Yes, I will use this company again.

Apparent miscommunication when appointment scheduled. No show for appointment. I called to see what happened and they said I cancelled. I did not. I told them when I heard the price of the service call that I would call them if I decided to go elsewhere. The appointment setter never said she would cancel the appointment so I waited the 4 hour window for no show of service person. When I called today to find out problem and reschedule they could only give me another 4 hour window rather than around a specific hour. They were not willing to try to work with me nor call me the morning of the appointment for a better defined time. I consider this firm to have terrible customer service. The appointment setters were polite but non communicative. I made appointment with a competitor who has a good rating for less than half the service call fee.

Dear [name removed], I apologize for the frustration you feel about your experience with us. We do have notes that the call was in the process of being set up but was halted when you raised a concern with the pricing of our service call. We do set up all calls via the phone, but until we confirm the date, time, and that the technician will call on his way out from his personal cell the call has not been officially set up. As for calling back in to reschedule, We do set up time frames with four hour windows because we do not want customers having technicians rush out of their homes mid diagnosis to make an hour time frame for another customer. We are however, always happy to call 30 minutes ahead to give you time to come home from either work or any other errands you might have to run on the day of the service call. We always have a technician call when he is on his way out to let you know that he is on his way but unfortunately since each and every call is different we cannot call the morning of and give you a specific time. We hope this information clears up any concerns you have with our company and if you do have any further question or concerns please feel free to contact me via phone or email. Although the staff is courteous and on time, they simply cannot get the job done. We could have purchased a new icemaker for far less than we spent on repairs and house call fees with The Appliance Doctor. The saga began in December 2011 when they told us our icemaker needed a new water valve and pump. Parts and labor were $447.17. The following October 2012 the icemaker pump was not working so they took it to the shop and kept it for a month. They told us in November that it was a leak in the pump motor evaporator and charged us $771.17 even though we had replaced the pump the previous year. The following June 2013, the water sprayer split and they replaced it with one from their shop, only charging us for the house call. By October 13, 2013 the circulation pump was not working (how many different types of pumps does an icemaker have?) and they did agree that it was under warranty this time. About ten days later, the unit was losing water during the cold cycle so they took it to their shop and kept it late October until early December 2013. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and said everything checked out well and it was again under warranty. In May 2014, we found the icemaker full of water and the floor of our bar was flooded. We had been out of town so the water had been soaking the floor for several days and we had to have the flooring completely replaced because the sub-floor had warped as well. The Appliance Doctor picked up the unit and kept it a while to check it out. They said nothing was wrong with it (!) and returned it June 3 after charging us a fee for the service call even though the warranty should still have been in effect. I honestly think they just didn't want to admit anything was wrong with it and be liable for our floor repairs after completely replacing the inside of that icemaker. It HAD to be the icemaker that ran water all over the floor and it was full of water inside. We paid well over $1500 to those people and the only thing we have to show for it is a useless icemaker that we have now removed from the bar since we do not want to risk using it and having to replace the floor again. I also think it is unfair to charge $89 fees for a return visit to diagnose problems with an appliance they have supposedly already repaired.

We originally called The Appliance Doctor over a month ago because our refrigerator wasn't producing ice properly. it only made about 3-4 cups of ice a day. The technician came out and checked it out and called Kitchenaid and they said to replace the motherboard. He then said the would order the part and when it came in they would call and setup the appointment to install it. We then noticed that the icemaker inside the refrigerator had a clump of ice under it right after the technician left. We called the company and added this to the order. They said it was a known issue with this model and there was a repair kit to fix it and they would add it to the work order and it should take 3 days to get the parts. We waited a week and called them back because we hadn't heard from them. They said they have the parts and scheduled the next appointment. The technician was on time for the appointment and replaced our motherboard and installed the repair kit to stop the icemaker from leaking. At this point our icemaker was working and there was not clump of ice inside the refrigerator. I went to fill up a 16oz. cup with water and it was full after 10oz. registered on the readout. I then poured it out and refilled the cup. This time it took 22oz. to fill the 16oz. cup. We called this provider again saying our readout was faulty and we need it fixed. Made the appointment and the technician was on time again. He came in and the first time we filled the 16oz cup it took 8oz. He did it 2 or 3 more times and saw it wasn't correct. He then said our water filter was bad. We had just replaced the water filter a couple months prior but we had one so we replaced it. He ran water and ran water until finally we got a pretty consistent readout. We told him our ice production still wasn't working properly. He said we would get better results if we turned the temperature down to -2 degrees. He set this and left. My wife went back a couple of hours later to get ice and got a cup of water and a few icecubes instead. We opened up the refrigerator to find that most of the ice had melted in the bin and made a huge mess in the refrigerator. I turned the temperature back to 0 degrees. We called this provider again. They scheduled the technician to come back out and then they rescheduled due to his daughter getting sick. During this time there was no ice whatsoever. It didn't make 1 cube. So finally he arrived and after some testing found that the freezer was only getting to 26 degrees not 0. He said our evaporator coil was leaking and it needed to be replaced and that the icemaker wouldn't make ice unless it was cold enough. This was on a Friday and he said we should get a call in 3 to 5 business days so by next Friday. Late the next Friday I called them because again we had not heard anything. They said one of the parts was on backorder but they had an ETA and scheduled it to be installed on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 which was yesterday. On Monday I called Kitchenaid and told them what was happening. They said it was not their policy to just keep replacing parts and she called the provider and told them to have the technician call Kitchenaid technical support when he got here. After he got here and started work I told him this and he flat refused to call them. During this past week the ounce readout on the refrigerator had been intermittent. Sometimes it is right and then it would be way off. Anyway the technician came and put in the evaporator coil yesterday and after he installed it just checked to see if the refrigerator was cooling. After that I mentioned again that the ounce readout was incorrect. I showed him that we filled the 16oz cup and 16oz came to about 1/4" down from the lip. Then when we filled it again it was about 1/2" down from the lip. He said to call Kitchenaid back that he couldn't make it perfect in a really disgusted tone. Then he said it was due to us having a really long water hose which was professionally installed and recommended by the dealer. I called Kitchenaid back and they said this provider was not adhering to their policies. They have scheduled another company to come out and check it. At this point our ounce readout is still wrong. We have waited all night and it still hasn't made one icecube. But it is getting really cold again. I would definitely NOT recommend this provider to anyone EVER. Unless you just want a part swapper and hope they find the problem. Also did I mention the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and we paid nearly $3000.00 on sale?

I called The Appliance Doctor about having the ice maker dispenser (on the door of freezer) looked at, as ice would not come through. I knew there was some issue with the inside door. They were very professional and set up an appointment for a few days later. On that day they did call to let me know technician would be running late, so I opted for a few days later. The technician called when he was on his way, arrived promptly, and was able to diagnose problem within about 10 minutes. The total visit time, including repair was about 45 minutes. My only concern was that the $89 visit (which I knew about ahead of time as the person who set the appointment let me know that) did not cover any of the labor, which was an additional $50. Perhaps I haven't had enough appliances repaired, but thought generally if a technician was already at your house, and had charged for the visit, some of the labor would be included in that. I should have asked more questions, but decided if I had it repaired later, or with another company, I might have another $89 plus labor, so went ahead with the repair. The company is professional, the technician very well trained, but if I have another appliance issue, will search a bit longer and ask more questions to find a company that allocates some of the cost of the visit toward labor.

Our home call fee covers full diagnostics. Your technician quoted you for how much the repairs would cost when he was at your home. Other companies will charge labor on top of their home call. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the future.

My dishwasher was working, but quality of the wash had diminished. Water was reaching all of the dishes, but the force of the water from the sprayer arms had diminished. David ran a diagnostic. [If you push the right buttons the dishwasher gives trouble codes just like a modern car. Who knew.] He determined that my water diverter needed replacing. A few days later he returned with the part and installed it. Now my dishes are squeaky clean again. David was professional, personable, and very careful to keep my kitchen floor clean while he was working. This is the second time I have used The Appliance Doctor for repair of an appliance, and I will not hesitate to use the company again.
