Great! Punctual, friendly and professional. He had to come back a second time b/c the part had to be ordered but that was fine. He put a rush on the part and it was installed the day it came in.

The price was good and I use him for a long time. They're professional, on time, worked me, informed me what's wrong, keep me out parts that I didn't need. He didn't tell me to get a new one but instead fixed it and I really appreciated that.

The problem was indeed a blown thermal fuse, but two other inline fuses also blew out. The technician did not have the parts on his truck. However, an hour or so after he left, one of their employees delivered the parts and very shortly thereafter the tech came back and installed them.
Description of Work: KitchenAid Superba double oven stopped working during the self-cleaning cycle. I went online and found that the reason was probably due to a blown thermal fuse, apparently not uncommon for these ovens.

The receptionist gave me a frame of time when the repairman would arrive. he called just before he arrived giving a more exact time of arrival. Though I needed to empty the freezer, the whole repair was completed within a two hour framework. The repairman even checked the drain to make sure it was not ice-clogged after he replaced the fan. And he gave me tips on how to maintain my microwave and gas stove. I was VERY pleased with his service.
Description of Work: My maytag refrigerator wasnt cooling. Chris came in and found the problem almost immediately. The fan needed to be replaced and he had the exact one needed in his truck. The whole repair was completed in about 75 minutes.

They had me worried because they had to come back three times. But they did solve the problem. They were trying a couple of things and they left some new parts in the machine that they did not charge me for because it was not the issue so overall I was pleased with the service. Quick to respond and come out for estimate for broken dryer. Also had them look at ice maker that was not making ice anymore. Part for dryer took a few days to come in. Very friendly repair guy who fixed my ice maker and showed me how to fix it when it freezes up so that I wouldn't have to call them. Dryer works like a charm now too.

The quality of his work and professionalism was fantastic. This had gone on for so long that I was amazed it could be done so fast. He went to work immediately and had it completed in no time at all. Thank you The Appliance Doctor, Inc. and Peter.
Description of Work: A combination washer, dryer was purchased at Sears Outlet in October for my rental property. Delivery men could not seem to install due to wrong parts so they said. Sears repair was called by tenant quite a few times. Times were set but never any calls. Finally I called The Appliance Doctor, Inc. and Peter the service man showed up right after he called and went to work and it was installed in a short period of time.

I was very impressed with Dave's knowledge of Whirlpool appliances. He was honest enough to admit tfhat, given the age of the dishwasher, I would be better off putting the $351 into a new dishwasher instead of fixing the old one, which was on "borrowed time". He then showed me how to get the old machine to run until I could get out to buy a new one. You punch the following buttons in order: heated dry~normal~heated dry~normal~cancel. Then you punch the start button and the dishwasher will run through 3 cycles. This really worked! I was very satisfied with Appliance Doctor and will continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: My 7 year old Whirlpool Gold dishwasher quit working and the "Clean" light kept flashing. I called Appliance Doctor because they were the authorized Whirlpool repairmen in Atlanta. Dave the repairman looked it over throughly and concluded that the "controls" were wearing out and needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $351 to fix the machine. While he was here, he also gave me some good advice on my Whirlpoon washing machine that was acting up.

Stephen arrived well within the time scheduled. He had come to do my repair as the technician that was to come had been delayed at his first call of the day. Unfortunately, the fuse he had on his truck would not fit the model I have. However, Stephen called Devon - who was originally going to come to do my repair and had the correct fuse - and between us we arranged for a time that was convenient to me for the repair to be carried out. This left me the whole afternoon to do the errands I had planned to do once the repair was done in the morning. Devon called to advise me he was on his way so I knew when to expect him. The repair was quickly carried out and I have a working oven ready to cook the evening meal :) Before he left Devon advised me not to use the self cleaning function on the oven, as often this does cause the fuse to blow. However, he asked that I use the oven to its full capacity using high temperatures and the broil function to see if the fuse blows sooner. If it does he will come out and call Whirlpool to ask for further advise as to why this has happened. This company came and replaced the thermal fuse last December, as the part was still under warranty I was not charge for the replacement part or the labour. Everyone I have dealt with at The Appliance Doctor, Inc have been very professional and courteous I have used them before and would not hesitate to use them again.

We had a technician come out to look at our dishwasher at our rental property before the tenants moved in. The technician called to let us know the problem was not with the dishwasher itself but rather it was an installation error and explained to us on how we needed to fix it. We thought to ourselves what a nice technician to diagnose our problem and explain to us the problem so we can repair ourselves without being charged from another company to repair. WELL - here is where the problem begins. My husband pulls out the dishwasher to adjust the hose in which the technician indicated was the problem. The technician DID NOT complete the full diagnostics because the hosing was installed properly and was lifted as it should be. The technician was lazy and didn't want to finish the job but yet he was happy to collect our money for diagnostics. We spoke with a manager and explained our frustration and stated we did not appreciate being lied to. The manager on duty was very professional and actually came to our rental property and diagnosed the problem for free. He then quoted us for the accurate repair work and was willing to give us the part at cost plus not charge us labor. Despite the bad run in with the tecnhnician, the manager on duty was very helpful and was willing/able to solve our problem.

Our upright freezer was making a strange new noise, and as we didn't want the contents of the freezer to be ruined, decided to place a precautionary service request. I actually found the Appliance Doctor on the Whirlpool site, not on Angie's List. The tech came out as promised, and indicated he thought it might be our compressor going bad, which is what we feared. He said he couldn't check it since the freezer was built in...but it's not. So I showed him how to pull it out, which we did. He said the compressor seemed to be running very hot, and he unplugged it to see if it would re-start. And it didn't...so I was told. He checked inventory and there wasn't a compressor of the type needed in the Atlanta area and they'd have to locate one. In the meantime, we were afraid our contents of our freezer would go bad, so we hustled off to Home Depot and bought a 7 cu. ft. freezer for our garage. I found the appropriate compressor on line for $150 less than the price I was quoted, so I had it overnighted, for arrival on Monday, 4/30.When it arrived, I called and a technician was out within an hour to install our new compressor...but when he opened the freezer it was working perfectly...and the compressor was, in fact, fine. The noise, according to him, was from the fan perhaps being a bit off, but there was no reason to repair/replace it. So we found ourselves with 2 visits; an extra compressor; and a small freezer, so we actually spent over $500 that we didn't need to spend. The second tech, who was extremely professional and knowledgable, called the home office. They bought the compressor I'd ordered for $282 (their cost.) They also reimbursed us for $100 of the cost of the outside freezer. While their response was appreciated, based on our experience with the first tech I don't think we'd use them again.
Description of Work: We wanted our freezer checked for a strange humming sound. It escalated into much more than that.

Told problem was because just one of the supports had rusted out. Was given a ludicris explanation of how the rusting occured (technician retracted what he had said); was told that the repair was not worth the money; told that the cost of diagnosis would not be applied to repair. Already had a low opinion of appliance doctor marietta ga. If Whirlpool had not listed them for service, I would not have called them.

The service fee (which is good only for 30 days) would have been double had they come two times beyond that.. . I also felt that some other appliance service in Atlanta would have the part available AND provide a good service.. so I called Angie's List instead.
Description of Work: I called them for an estimate for appliance repair. They called me this morning to change my appointment and during the same call advised me that a part (if that's what I needed) wouldn't be available for 2 wks. They were nice but not quickly available.

Called Appliance doctor - took 2 days to call back and 3 more days to come to the house. The person who came had no idea what was wrong with the refridgerator (although clearly it was th compressor or freon needed). He called to have another guy come by a couple days later. On the freezer he reattached a small wire that had become loose and fixed the freezer. He charged a service call for the fridge AND a 2nd service call for the freezer. And charged to reconnect the wire (that was fine). So left me with a bill for $151.95. Second guy (only a year on the job) figured our my fridge. Ater handling me a bill for over $500, I questioned the service call charge of the first guy and he agreed to not charge me a second service call. I did not see the breakdown of the $500 bill that showed the service call was never charged so thought the first guy had run the charge through. Company harrassed me about the $151.95 charge and within a short time had collections on it. I requested copies of all bills broken down and they only sent me the bills for the $151.95.
Description of Work: 6 year old refridgerator (side by side) stopped cooling gradually. Also had a freezer that stopped freezing as well so wanted that looked at.

Rick Smith, the technician, answered my initial call and scheduled a visit the following day. He arrived on time, called ahead to say he was en route, and fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes. They apparently charge a $75 service call anytime they go out. I mentioned Angie's List as the way I'd found him. He discounted the total of $90 and charged me just the basic $75. I couldn't have been more pleased.

My 14-year-old dishwasher wouldn't rinse. Allan quickly discovered the water valve was overheating and therefore shutting down. He had to order a new valve, told me exactly how much the repair would cost, came back two days later at exactly the time he said he would, and replaced the valve. He had to crawl through a spider-filled crawl space to cut off the water and then turn it back on. The service was worth every penny. My dishwasher is running like a new one now.
