+ 2 moreTyler arrived shortly after I called for help, assessed the situation, and got to work looking for the source of our problem. As it turned out, our sewer line had separated and had been infiltrated by tree roots, blocking flow from our house to the street. It looked at first like we would need the entire line replaced, and Tyler took care of making an emergency request to city and county officials to mark utilities on our property (this happened the next morning). Shortly after Tyler returned with Nick the next day, they found they could possibly make a repair rather than replace the entire line. First, they smartly and methodically started out near the street to check for issues. When they discovered everything there was as it should be, they moved close to the house to dig a trench, and after some exploratory work, zeroed in on the blockage and made expert repairs. Throughout the complicated and challenging project in hot weather, Tyler and Nick maintained a professional and positive attitude, and took care to inform my wife and me of their progress along the way. Tyler even came back the next morning--a Saturday--to scatter straw on the areas of turf disruption. I can't really say enough about Tyler's professionalism and demeanor. He's an excellent active listener and gave me the feeling that he really cared about us, the customers, reaching a good outcome and being repeat customers. Nick operated the equipment and impressed me with his patience, grace under pressure, and can-do attitude. Together, Tyler and Nick got the job done and done well. We had a superb experience with Sundial Plumbing and will call only them from now on!
Description of Work: Sewer had backed up, and we needed emergency help. Sundial was the only company I called who was willing and able to dispatch a plumbing professional right away.

+ -1 moreNeeded to install 2 new toilets and fix disposal and drain on half bath sink. Called and Dustin was sent out to give estimate and then returned later same day with toilets to install. Very professional and clearly knowledgeable. Had to call back to adjust toilet that was wobbling, but bill was adjusted for the extra trip and time. They did good work, but they are more expensive than other plumbers.

I think it ended up being more of a project than he anticipated, but they stuck with the original quote and ago the job knocked out. No complaints.

They did end up taking longer than estimated, but I think that was because they had to wait for the water company to turn the water off at the meter because it was installed sloppily. Their price was the best of the four quotes I received.

No call, nothing. Not sure what is going on with this provider but won't call them again.

+ -1 moreTechnician did a good job -- it was quick -- only 40 minutes. It is my fault that I agreed to such a high price ahead of time, but they charged me $300 to install the disposal. I purchased the disposal myself but if I hadn't, the cost to install a new garbage disposal would have been almost $500! If everything they do is this expensive, I need to shop around next time. Also, I had been waiting so long that I just wanted to get it over with. The technician showed up an hour and a half after the 4 hour window so I waited 5 and 1/2 hours.

+ -1 moreIt worked out. I had my handyman here and the handyman explained to them that I live mostly on social security and a small income from school. The man explained that if he did the service from his company the complete job would be just under $4,000. If he did the partial job it would be $1,200 plus like $1,245 and if he explained how to do it to the handyman he wouldn't charge me a penny and that's what he did. I was so pleased with that. They were completely on time but they did a rush order on us because it was the basement flooding and they were very honest and they had empathy with me. There's still a little part that my handyman couldn't do that I'm going to call them back to do and because of their honesty I will have them do it.

+ 0 moreTwo plumbers came to install the water heater. After hours of installation, and after they left, I noticed that the water heater was leaning significantly to the left. I called the Sundial and, despite their attempts to send the same plumbers again, I had them send another plumber to figure out why it was leaning so much. This plumber worked for several hours to rework the installation (straighten it upright, attach the vent pipe at the top (it had not been attached at all), attach a drip leg (none had been attached), and several other things I can't remember or name . I emailed the company about my concern with the original installation and received an response with an apology for the inconvenience. Inconvenience is right - two days out of work for me for less than stellar work. That's not all. I received a notice that the water heater installation needed to be inspected by Cobb County. The inspector came out and noted some installation deficiencies. Needless to say, it didn't pass inspection. I called Sundial again and despite their repeated attempts to again send out the first plumber, another plumber was sent. He corrected the deficiencies (hopefully) and I have the code inspector coming out again. I really do hope that it passes this time. Three times missing work for plumbers and 2 times missing work for inspectors is outrageous!

Description of Work: Three days ago I called Sundial Plumbing to schedule an emergent situation due to a main pipe in my house bursting due to the freeze. They put me on their schedule the next day. Three days later, they call me to tell me they'll come on Saturday. I have called them numerous times, left emails, asking if and when they would be coming to my house since I do not have water. NO RESPONSE...until today. I've have now found a plumbing company who answers their phone. I will not be using this company again, no matter how many rave reviews they get. Very unprofessional.

Description of Work: Repaced water heater, removed old one and installed new 50 gallon gas water heater. On finding PRU also was not working correctly he replaced the old one to bring down water pressure.....

+ -1 moreI was holding an estate auction on a Saturday at my father's home in Marietta when the toilets backed up and as a result, water was flowing from a couple of different sections of pipe in the basement. I don't live in Marietta and didn't know a plumbing service to call especially in an emergency. I called a very well known, highly advertised plumbing company. They not only were not customer friendly (asked all kinds of questions not related to the problem, such as who owns the home, is it rented, what is my e-mail address is, etc.) but informed me that it would be several hours before someone could come out. Then I called Sundial Plumbing, and Serina answered the phone. When I explained the situation, she wanted to know only the address. Serina was sympathetic to the situation and informed me that someone will be there in an hour. When William from Sundial arrived promptly, he immediately located the problem as a toilet paper clog in the pipe to the sewer. In the meantime, the water started flowing again and the pipes in the basement were no longer leaking. William advised us what we should do in order to prevent another back up from happening (at that time, we were about half way through the estate auction). When I asked how much I owed, William said there would be no charge since he didn't make any repairs. I tried to pay him as he had made an emergency service call but he refused to take any payment. I (and the others there) couldn't believe I wasn't charged. As far as I'm concerned, this is a great company that I would definitely call again and recommend to everyone.

+ -1 moreI called monday morning, it was not an emergancy, the person who answered the phone was helpful and polite. They gave me a time frame for the same day which i thought was extrordinary. Again, i indicated that it was not an emergancy. but they had people availible to help me out. The tech came 30 minutes earlier than anticipated. He quoted me a repair price with the toilet still mounted and said he would let me know the total price once he was able to get the toilet up. He let me know the issue, the repair amount and that he would be able to finish the job without leaving or going anywhere. he came completely prepared. fixed the issue. remounted and balanced the toilet and was on his way in just over an hour. The Plumber was polite and professional and completed the job. I would definately call them again for any plumbing issues. They are very responsive and very professional.l

+ -1 moreSnail seems to have some issues with their scheduling, the first day they were supposed to come out the technician called in sick.... So we rescheduled for another day first am appointment. I was told this would be between 9-9:30am. When I called at 10:15 to find out where the plumber was, I was told by their dispatcher that they didn't have a time, just first am, not sure what that means to them? A plumber finally arrived atb10:45am and gave me an estimate, which required removing a shower to do the repair. The next day, I got a call from someone else from sundial who explained that the job could not be done the way the guy had quoted it, and that it would be even more. S, they wasted 2 days of my life, and then gave me a wrong quote???? No, did not hire them! Called another plumber out who fixed the problem for 1/3 the cost, without destroying my bathroom.
Description of Work: Requested a fix for a shower that needed a new diverter valve.

I had heard good things about Sundial from a friend years ago and gave them a call. Expecting to leave a voice mail message, I was happily surprised when a pleasant lady named Bri immediately answered the phone. Bri was most helpful and I was relieved to hear that she would work me into her schedule, due to the urgent nature of my plumbing issue. A couple hours later, Bri called to let me know that the plumber was heading my way. Mark arrived to my home and I could not have asked for a better technician! Mark was very respectful and I was impressed right away by his confidence. He looked at my leaking water heater and thoroughly explained my options for a replacement. After deciding on a replacement heater, the installation was completed efficiently and without any complications. Everything was tested and I had hot water again! Sundial is a and quot;first classand quot; company and they really shine with their outstanding customer service. They truly deserve the awards and recognition that they've been receiving the past couple years. The entire experience was smooth and seamless. I highly recommend Sundial to anyone in need of plumbing services!

Whenever one has used them for services, they send them a thank you card with a 25 dollar discount for future services and I haven't used it yet. What stands out to me is their service. They provide very good customer service. They are a bit pricey, but their service is good. I would have liked their prices to be lower. I would use them again in the future if I had enough money.

+ 0 moreIf you care about your money and getting a job done, never, ever, use “Sundial” plumbing. The plumber was evasive and did not answer our questions regarding the cause of the pipe blockage. It turned out that we did not know whether he used a camera or not, but if he did it was certainly after he quoted the price and we signed. He told us that he had to extract some hair and that the blockage was seventy feet into the line. It all was too simple and required no extra effort .Before paying we called the manager to complain about the charge. The manager, William, told us that we should have gone to another company. He was rude, dismissive and patronizing. Less than three weeks later the exact same thing happened again. We called “Hearing Plumbing” and they sent two plumbers instead of one. They removed the toilet, sent down a scope to a hundred feet, discovered the problem, resolved it and charged $275. For six weeks now, we have not had a single problem. The egregious discrepancy in price and effectiveness is ample testimony about never, ever using “Sundial” plumbing.
Description of Work: Following Angie's list recommendation we called “Sundial” plumbing when both my shower and toilet backed up. Sundial told me on the phone that a really complicated job would cost $500 and up and much less if it were a simpler job. When the plumber came, without investigating the condition and without using a camera in the pipe, he quoted the job at $610. Being desperate, the floor was also flooded, we agreed.

+ -1 moreI called another plumber that day. He came over, then went out and got the part and charged me $245. I emailed Sundial and let them know my experience and they sent me a nasty letter.
Description of Work: On the morning of 10/08/11 I awoke to the sound of running water. Water was gushing out of a pipe on my hot water heater. I shut the supply and looked for a plumber. Sundial Plumbing was listed in Gwinnett County Verified Home Services so I called them. They said they could get a plumber out that afternoon and that they did not charge a service fee even if they didn't do the work they quoted. I was pleased about that. When the plumber showed up I showed him the hot water heater. He was unfamiliar with the part where the water was coming from. I showed him the owner's manual and he still could not locate it. While he made sveral phone calls to other plumbers I looked in the manual and found the part. It was the Vacuum Relief Valve. He tested the water pressure into the house and said the water pressure was too high. He said I needed to replace the Pressure Regulator Valve. He said it would cost 418.16 and that even when he replaced it, that might not fix the problem at the hot water heater and I might still need to replace the VRV. I told him to go ahed and replace the PRV. Sure enough, after he replaced the PRV the water was still leaking from the hot water heater. He said it would cost another 375.00 to replace the VRV. I said ok. He then said he couldn't get the part that day and he would have to come back in two days (Monday). If I wanted hot water until he could get the part it would be 150.00 to seal the leak. I asked him if he would deduct the 150 from the 375 it would cost to replace the VRV because he couldn' get the part that day. He said no. I told him to seal the leak, which he did and paid him 568.16 (418.16 + 150.00). I tlod him I would get quotes from other plumbers to replace the VRV. Soon after I noticed that the water pressure in the upstairs showere was extermely low. I called Sundial and asked if they could come back and increase the pressure. I also explained the situation about the plumber not being abled to get the part and asked about deducting the 150 from the cost of replacing the VRV. They said the would get back to me. They called back and said they would give me a $50 coupon. I said I'd think about it. That Saturday, the 15th, they sent another plumber to increase the water pressure. When the plumber asked me if I wanted to replace the VRV I told him I was getting quotes because I was unhappy about the $150. He agreed and called the office. He told me the owner, Mitzi said no. I told him I would use someone else.
