STERLING PAINTING

We had talked to 3 competitors and Sterling was supposed to come back and give us some details on what he would do in terms of the paint, but we never heard back after they gave us the estimate.

We got a quote from Ben, the owner, and scheduled the project. We had a couple of small setbacks due to some personal issues of the main carpenter, and the fact that we needed to go out of town, but we worked through that. Ben was very patient with us as we decided on color. He put the color samples on the wall and shutters and we decided to go with different colors. This pushed back the process but that was our fault and not the painting company. Our house was challenging because it is a tall and large two story house sitting on a hill. The one side required a 60' ladder. Also, the ground drops off in the back and it is hard to get a ladder there. We have bushes and tall Magnolias close to the house so we needed them to be trimmed some and pulled back while they painted. They were able to help us out with this as well. The crew came early every morning and worked diligently on the house while we were at work. Their crew leader / painter, Jeff, was easy to talk with and I told him each morning how we thought it was going.The master carpenter and assistant came out and efficiently installed the sidelights on a Saturday. I only needed to take off one day so they could paint the door frames and install the front door. The whole crew were pleasant and courteous and did a great job. They cleaned up everything when the project was finished. We even had a few laughs which made the experience more enjoyable. We were very pleased with the outcome of this large and complex project. It was a pleasure dealing with Ben Hawkins. He is an honest and personable man and has been in business a long time We felt the price was reasonable for the amount and complexity of the work and the cost of the door and sidelights. Our house looks brand new and we love it every time we see it. We would use this company again and recommend them.
