Shattered Glass

Swimmingly, I ordered and was told hold long to expect it to take. It was finished early. My wife picked it up. They also helped to get it into the car safely.

I had my entire bathroom renovated. Every contractor I worked with from the tile to the floor did a great job and made sure that we as customers we were happy EXCEPT Shattered Glass! After their install of my custom shower glass, I noticed that there was a significant gap between the glass and the wall and unlike what was promised, the glass was not customized to fit the wall. In addition, there were scratches in the hardware and the silicone caulk was not professionally completed. It bugged me so much that I called two of my contractors to take a look. They both confirmed that the job was poorly done. My interior designer contacted the company, submitted the pictures and notified them that we were not satisfied. The assistant who received the pictures even admitted that the installer should have done a better job. The owner, Richard, contacted me and was defensive and rude. No apology was given nor an eagerness to satisfy the customer (as they stated in a review above). He blamed my contractor and said the walls were bowed and that's why the glass didn't touch the wall. He didn't even address the sloppy silicone job or the scratches in the hardware. I informed Richard that I consulted with three additional experts that included two contractors and another glass company and they all concluded that the glass should have been cut to fit the bowing of the walls if that was discovered during the measurement. They also concluded that the silicone was sloppily applied and that there should not have been scratches in the hardware that I paid for. Shattered glass never notified us after measurement or prior to install that there was an issue with the walls and that there may be a problem with the glass fitting. After expressing our dissatisfaction with the job and a desire to get it rectified, Richard became agitated and suggested that I be refunded the deposit I paid. He said that although the job was poorly done and that he was capable of fixing it, that he didn't need or want my money and wanted to be done with the job. I accepted the option for a refund although I'd preferred, the job be correctly completed since I'd spent over 10k on the shower alone! Not only did he not resolve to satisfy a customer, he did not honor his word of providing a refund. I wouldn't recommend this contractor to my worse enemy.

The entire process was smooth, professionally executed and the results were excellent. Everyone showed up as planned and on time; the product was fabricated and arrived onetime and the installation was done with the utmost professionalism and respect. I am thrilled with the results and would definitely hire these guys again and recommend them to anyone needing glasswork, windows, marble, granite etc.
