Mister Sparky Electric - Atlanta

It went well. Work was completed efficiently. He had to make a few adjustments to the fan and the overhead in the kitchen. He also advised that we could remove one of the fluorescent tubes to decrease the intensity of light in the kitchen if we wished. Also traded out one of our replacement tubes that was a mismatch with one he had on hand. We called Mr. Sparky because we had procrastinated so much, we just wanted to get the work done. It was way too expensive. We would not hire Mr. Sparky again, unless there were no other option.

The man who came out to my house was very professional and knowledgeable. He had 36 years experience as an electrician. He was patient with my questions and took his time doing the work. Mister Sparky is expensive. But you do get what you pay for. When I bought this townhouse, two of the outlets were wired incorrectly. The previous homeowner may have saved a little money, but when you're talking about electricity you could run the risk of fires or electric shock. I believe you should pay a little extra and get the job done right. I would use Mister Sparky again.

My first mistake was using another not-to-be-named free review site to find an electrician. I landed on Mister Sparky because they offered a 10% off coupon if I mentioned the site I found them on. I asked Mister Sparky to come out to look at the wall switch in my bedroom. I have gone through 3 ceiling fans that last about 6 months then start intermittently working. I felt there must be a short in the wire somewhere and I mentioned that to the service tech who came out. The first thing I was asked to do was sign the invoice that showed how much I would be charged. Included in the price category I fell into was a few VERY simple tasks such as changing out a bad wall switch. He assured me that he would solve my problem even though I repeatedly told him that I thought there was a short in the wire. I signed the sheet and he began to work. I was already not happy with the process. He found that the light kit on the fan itself was bad in the first 30 minutes which would support my theory of a short in the wire. He then told me it would be a lot more money (don't remember the exact amount but it was around double the amount I agreed to at first) for him to check the circuit on that wire. He also didn't fix the light kit but instead told me to take it back to where I bought it from and demand a replacement. That process was also frustrating. For the next hour or so he went around to each wall outlet (not switch) and took off the cover plate, and looked at the wiring. This was not what I was asking him to do but I thought he might be trying to figure something out so I didn't say anything. Instead he criticized the previous electrician for the way the outlets were wired. I asked him if he recommending changing them and he said, "No, they're up to code. It's just not how I would do it". Once he finished checking about 4 outlets he then opened up my breaker box and tried to recommend I buy a $1,000 surge protector device that would protect my whole home. I asked him if this would fix my problem and he said it probably wouldn't but it was a good idea to have it. I declined. As he was leaving he saw that I had a battery-powered smoke detector and asked if I wanted a hard-wired one and I said no thanks. He decided to give me one and wired it in for me for free. The wires were already in place so this took 5 minutes. I thought it was a nice gesture but he still hasn't fixed my problem. All in all, Mister Sparky got $220 from me for about 30 minutes of troubleshooting a light kit on a fan. I had to get the new light kit and install it myself after he was gone. I was TOTALLY shocked at how much I was guilt-tripped into buying things that wouldn't fix my problem. I am still having the issue and have learned to just deal with it now. Most fan manufacturers have a 1 year warranty so hopefully they all just quit within a year. Hopefully my house won't burn down from a short....

The electrician called and provided an estimated time of arrival. His actual time of arrival was well within the two hour window the representative provided on the phone when I made the appointment. Upon arrival the electrician was very responsive to my questions and very knowledgeable. The area in the attic where the work was to be done was very confined, a place I really didn't want to enter myself. However, the electrician did not hesitate to enter the confined space and performed the job in a very professional manner. He replaced the wiring to two light fixtures and deactivated the fan. i would definitely use Mr. Sparky if the need should arise again.

He was early so my son had to handle. He was finished by the time I arrived home from work. Everything was done neatly and quickly

He used booties to make sure he didn't mess up on my house when he had to come in. He worked until the job was done. He was really good about explaining stuff. He took the time to make sure that I understood, he used layman's terms to explain them to me and he's really good about that. He quoted me a price and what he quoted was the price I needed. They're a little more expensive than most of the others I have encountered but I'm willing to pay the extra because I know they're going to be dependable and going to do a good job.

The technician actually called and asked if it was ok for him to come earlier which was great for us. He was very friendly and thorough with the job. I also appreciated that he wore shoe covers and covered all of the areas where he was working so nothing got on the bedding (the fan was directly over the bed), the carpet, etc. He provided each price up front and described everything that was included. I think this company may be a bit pricier than others, but I felt the service, professionalism, warranty, etc. helped offset any price difference. We were very happy with the service.

I originally called them out to fix the driveway spotlight that wasn't working after some squirrels had gotten in. When he came out he discovered the master electric panel had been hit by a surge and had melted the first several breakers! That became the priority at that point. He came back the next day, on a holiday weekend, to replace it knowing it was a hazard. He took pictures and wrote up a nice report for me to send to my insurance company. The following week he was back out to install the spot light. Took him a couple of hours to take care of that. I'm quite pleased with the level of effort and work performed.

They never came to my home.

The service was excellent. They came out to see if everything was working ok, and they certainly did not charge a lot. The man that came out was very courteous and professional. I would recommend him.

I call mister sparky on the 19th of august concerning lack of power in 2 bedroom and a bathroom. Terry came out the next day to look at it. He gave me an estimate which i find reasonable the work that was needed to done. He also suggest other areas for improvement.Terry was verry professional and punctual

When I called they gave me the choice of a 1 hour or 3 hour window for the service ($20 difference). I chose the 3 hour window. That day, I got a call from the main office to say that the electrician was on the way. I then got a call from the electrician to say he was in the neighborhood. He arrived within the window, put on booties over his shoes and proceeded to look into my issue - all outlets not working. He not only corrected my problem but gave me a number of pointers with respect to my system. He wrapped up by giving me some information on whole house surge protection - but no hard sell, which I appreciated. I am considering it because I really appreciated their service.

They are clean, neat and, always polite. We've always found their pricing to be reasonable and their work free of errors.

Very professional - they came on time, called ahead, and stayed late to finish the work same day.

When they come out, they give me a whole house inspection to make sure that all of the electrical things are working properly. I have been extremely pleased with their work every time I have used them. Brad told me that the surge protector goes in where the box is, and it would melt before it does any damage to my appliances. Should there be a problem, they will come out and fit it for free! I have never felt ripped off, they always give a quote, and there is never additional or hidden fee.

They were very good. They were very professional. They explained to my father thoroughly what they were going to do and what it was for.

They were very professional. It cost more than we expected, but that was because he had to replace the electrical box in the ceiling in order to comply with code. He did tell us that before he started the work.

The electrician from Mr. Sparky repaired a "chewed up" (his words) wire at the top of the pitch to my roof. I paid an additional $89.10 to become a Power Club member to receive additional benefits such as one professional safety inspection, one panel tune-up and 10% off all service and repairs. The total cost was $437.85. At the time of service, I showed the electrician an Angie's List coupon for 10% off any service or repair performed. After the electrician left, I noticed that the Angie's List 10% off coupon was not applied to the invoice. I telephoned Mr. Sparky's local office and spoke to someone regarding what happened. The office employee told me that she would speak to the electrician and call me back. Later, she advised that the electrician said that I was not eligible for the Angie's List 10% off coupon because I had paid to be a Power Club member which automatically entitled me to a 10% discount. I told her that the coupon did not list any restrictions and I would contact their corporate office for an explanation. I then sent an e-mail to Mr. Sparky's corporate office and, shortly thereafter, received a telephone call. I explained what had happened to the person at Mr. Sparky's corporate office and he advised that he would send a check for the 10% off discount . He stated that the check would be delayed since it would be mailed from their corporate office. About two weeks later, I received the check. I don't understand why I had to contact Mr. Sparky's corporate office to resolve this matter. The Angie's List coupon DID NOT list any restrictions on it. I'm disappointed that Mr. Sparky's local office refused to honor an Angie's List coupon.

I ended up doing the most important installation myself and will probably do the other fans as well. I just thought others should know about Mr Sparky's "sneaky" advertising methods.

Mr. Sparky was one of 4 companies I called to get quotes to correct electrical issues at the amenities area for my HOA. My initial call was on 3/5 and their technician met with me on 3/7. However, I didn't receive the quote until 3/15 - 8 days after my meeting with their technician. The information was just typed into the body of an email, was not presented on a formal quotation sheet, was not detailed, and they did not provide a total for the work to be done - I had to add up the individual services needed. Mr. Sparky's quote was the highest we received, and was $5189 higher than the company we selected. The only reason I called Mr. Sparky is because I've seen their trucks many times. I would definitely not call them again and would not recommend them. I think their charges are way too high.

They're famous, on the air, they are punctual, their work was good, but the price was too high. He did four little things, did an hour and fifteen minutes worth of work, and the price surprised me, I should have asked beforehand. They had a price sheet, told us what they were, but, me and my wife should have compared prices. I am going by time, and how long it took to do the job, otherwise, they are very good.

Mr. Starky said it would be more money because it was Saturay. Their advertisement says that they do not charge more on the weekends. All the electrician did was pull more wire down and fixed the white box. He charged me 500 dollars. He had us over a barrel. What they do with older people is, they tell them what is going to happen and then over charge them.

They have been my electrician for the past 7 years. Their prices may be a little high, but they come out right away, they do all code work, and they do a great job. We had a porch put on to our home and they did all the electric work for this and also put some lights out around the pond we have in the back yard. We will continue to use them in the future.
